You know you have a good shop when they use a Mustang dyno. They're going for honest, repeatable numbers, not BS. Great video! I am looking for an S3 and to do this exact setup.
These numbers are still extremely low. I guess every dyno is different but a guy with his S3 in Texas just made 375whp on a mustang dyno. They translated it to dynojet numbers (the shop) and it was 422whp. He is stage 2 e30 like me. I’m 400whp as well. 3 of my buddies all made 270-280whp completely stock as well

I have stage 2 TTS in england running 385 PS and 420 ft lbs. This is with 99 ron though. Didn't realise it made no much difference

In uk you get a stage 1 plus and it took my Audi Quattro 1.8 tfsi pfl to 245 whp and 380fpt I think stock it’s 177whp and 250fpt crazy numbers for not being a stage 2 on a 1.8

My Leon Cupra gave me 258 (stock) after installing cold intake , downpipe, RS7 spark plus , RS3 ignition coils , JB4 tune , it gave me 320 on map 1 and 340 on map 3 , now I'm waiting to customize map 6 and see what are the Gain. May I know what is APR gain on stage 2?

Those numbers are to the wheel not to the crank, a stock s3 of that year would be around 290 to the crank so that is a huge increase , he’s probably about 400 hp to the crank right now
I have IE Intercooler, IE open intake, Custom DP and a few bolt ons made 330hp atw, all dyno vary. i could be pushing 350hp atw on some other dyno.

Never got a CEL but the car is tuned and that is a requirement for doing something like this.

From what I've read even from the tuner websites, Stage 2 adds like 10BHP
To be brutally honest these numbers are not great at all. I'm from South Africa and have a 2016 Golf 7R and with just a plug and play tune box i made 238wkw (319whp) and 488Nm (360ft lb) i went to two different dynos after that and the numbers only differed by about 3whp and 7ft lb. I decided to have 3 icn downpipe installed and went back to the first dyno where i got the first figures with my plug and play tune box and my numbers jumped to 252wkw (338whp) and 519Nm (382ft lb). The owner of the tuning shop where i was put a downpipe and stage 2 tune on his wife's 2018 Audi S3 and got 281wkw (376whp) and 544Nm (401ft lb). This is only downpipe and stage 2 tune with no other hardware mods.

Have you thought about adding a catch can system as well? I know carbon buildup can be a big issue on these direct injection motors and I know the catch can is a possible fix/slow down for carbon build up.

Have an A3 2017 2.0t with APR tune. Thing hauls ass now. Pretty sure its the same motor as S3. Downpipe is next. Cant wait. Some S3 front brakes would be nice too
Nice 👍 S3 brakes are trash FYI find some RS3 calipers that would be an actual upgrade. Check out some of my S3 track day videos and you'll see what im talking about. The last Laguna Seca day with track pads didn't last long because of the horrible single piston caliper design.

We have 92 octane up here in Oregon/Wash. Not fair you can go 6-8 hours east to find higher octane fuel. You will need a custom tune for E85 :(

Yeah, no point in putting on a down pipe if you don’t tune it. With a down pipe you go to a stage 2 tune.

Ooooh you’re running 91 octane!?? Now it makes sense haha. Apr stage 2 is usually giving 340whp and 370wtq...hell even apr stage 1 high torque is putting over 330whp....
Yeah those APR numbers seem inflated like there off a dynojet or something. The real thing you have to look at is the deltas from stock. Also yeah I’m on 91 oct and it was pretty hot out around 95 degrees. He also drove the car around a bit before putting it back on the dyno so it was getting a bit heat soaked.
APR numbers are fake because they wrongly apply power correction factor.
Accordingly SAE J 1349, item 5.5.2: "BOOSTED ENGINES SHALL NOT BE CORRECTED for ambient barometric pressure". They inflate the results as if the engine was naturally aspirated one, which loses power due to altitude above sea level and air temperature over 25°C(77°F) as standard parameters. That's a devious and corrupt way to sell fake horsepower.

Very strange i just put yesterday my stsge 2 (Giac tune) and i am making 329 Whp (yes wheel horse power) and 335 lb/gt of torque, so 266 whp i think its very low for a stage 2
In europe with 100octane fuel on MAHA you have around 300 whp. On DINO 320/330…. The difference is MAHA AND DINO. This is a car that can produce 370 to 390 bhp in stage 2.

An Intercooler doesn't add hp it just makes sure you don't lose hp to heat soak.
??? look it up, an intercooler gives pretty decent gains in performance. without an aftermarket IC everything gets way to hot which just limits the turbo.

vroomgc bro are u okay? If you are losing horsepower TO heatsoak because of a stock or bad intercooler, and then you install an aftermarket IC and gain/increase in HP numbers, that’s essentially still increasing performance/hp

I'm new to tfsi engines. Can someone please tell me if the Downpipe required for stage 2 on these engines also contains the catalyst? Or is the Downpipe separate from the Catalyst on 2.0 tfsi? I have a golf 6 R with K04 2.0 TFSI and want a stage 2+ upgrade.

This is a Mustang dyno which is one of the lowest reading of brands on the market as far as numbers go. So mustang dyno to Dyno jet Conversion I’d make 10 to 12% more power.

im stage 2 in my 2018 golf and make almost 400whp, that car is not making great power. i am in Australia dont know if that makes a difference

Not much different only 140 hp. Dynos change numbers and have there own variables but I'd be disappointed.

If this were mine you i would do an intake, DP, exhaust, slightly larger twin scroll turbo/intercooler, injectors and tune. Probably make 350-400 awhp easily. The some 19/265/40 Carbon fiber wheels and carbon driveshaft for about 60 pounds less rotational mass. 😁👍😌. But i still own a 1991 Supra with a 1JZ rocking a Garett GTX3071R , full boltons, HKS stg 1 cams , plus full fuel and ignition. Have clutch, flywheel, lsd, 4 piston 300zx front brakes and coil overs. Makes 330whp at only 13.5psi. The HKS cams help a bit on the mid/top end. Gonna do some forged rods/pstons soon and jack the boost up. Shooting for 450-550whp. Also have fully custom interior; seats, gauges, door panels etc... as It sits now with 330 wheel horsepower it beats my buddies stage IIISTI and also my buddies 2016 mustang GT 5.0 with an intake.
Lol 3071r is too big of a turbo for only 300whp on the 1J. You also don’t need a bigger turbo to make 350-400whp on the s3 and you certainly don’t need to do anything with the direct injectors. Full bolt ons and port injection/lpfp for e85 will get you there easily.
I know it's a mustang dyno, but those IS38 numbers make me sad. I'm APR Stage 1 91oct (going stage 2 soon) and i was hoping to be around that with the IS20, guess i'm gonna be more around 240-250whp on a stage 2 IS20 car.

Not required but it will help with heat soak. Also you will make more power consistently with one also.
YES YOU WILL NEED AN INTERCOOLER...after one hard pull your car will heat soak and you will be down 30whp automatically....specially worse in the summer. The stock intercoolers are so small it’s a joke!

That would be over stage 1, but requires some basic bolt-ons which cost most of the money
I dont recognize the brand of those wheels, but they are a carbon copy of some BBS wheels.
NIce videos, but count how many times you say "go ahead and"... its unnecessary filler that means nothing but distraction from otherwise good videos... PS, I've got a Stage II S3 with almost the full catalog of 034 Chassis and suspension parts, but APR intake and down pipe and Unitronic ECU/TCU.. did my first 0-60 a bit up hill and with a passenger at 3.6 seconds which I was pretty thrilled with (93 octane). Next challenge is getting it to corner properly. Even after all the mods, still understeers like a pig, even on 255 tires.
Rear sway bar full stiff should help that. Also front camber plates.
@@BlakesGarage Thanks. Done both, Neuspeed endlinks, and actually running less than stock negative camber in the rear too. I road race and modify everything, but this still doesn't corner as well as my 13' bug or MKV Jetta or virtually any other car I've ever had. It's great up to 7/10ths or so, then goes numb beyond that. Very frustrating. I've got 18x8.5 wide ET35 wheels which widens the track a lot, but that wasn't enough. Got some 18x9 ET30s to go on next. Gonna run stagger 265/235 I think, and do a bit of toe out (relative to stock), and loosen everything and see if I can squeeze a bit more camber out of the front. I might move the battery to the front of the trunk too. On the Bug or Jetta with similar mods, you could just dive into a corner hard, lift off and the car starts to rotate. Nail the throttle as you hit the apex and a beautiful drift ensues.. Its really a blast. Gonna keep at it until I can it to rotate.... PS, getting the DP out without a lift was a huge PITA I just gave up and sawzalled it in half to take it out (putting the new one in was easy)... did all my mods on the garage floor lol.

testing intercooler and intake differences on a dyno is kind of pointless unless you have fans on them

Bao Duong yeah at the flywheel. They make around 240hp at the wheels stock. Thats in Australia with the standard "hot climate" tune they get from factory.
I made 268awhp/262/awtq on petro94(Canadian gas) bone stock 2017 golf R..maybe air temp and good gas was the key, but i think his numbers seem low.
definitely needs some good gas.. mine was about 280hp at the wheels for stage 1 on 98oc(aus)
