Hi, owner of dungeons.n.critters owner here. Great video. Just to answer some things. Snake plant in crestie enclosure is managing somehow, we've put it in just because he loved sleeping in it 😅 All backgrounds are custom made, same with bearded dragon big cave. We actually used your videos from a while back when building those things, we covered styrofoam with few layers of grout and then fish pond sealant. Thank you for rating our vivariums!
"Snake plant is managing somehow" I feel like that's the perfect description of a snake plant 🤣 And awesome! They look great. Pond sealant 🤔 I'm going to have to try that. Thanks!
I collect sansevieria species. It's a common misconception that they don't like water. They can handle a ton of water they just don't like to sit wet. I water my collection about every three days. Soil matters a ton, most house plant soils stay to wet for them and I find people confuse wet and dry rot.
That is super interesting. My fear of watering them came from a few UA-cam videos of people saying they watered them like twice in a week and they died 😅. Just not liking to stay wet definitely makes sense though! Thank you 🥰
I like seeing what other pet parents do with their enclosures. It gives me other things to try with our bearded dragon to enrich his environment and better his quality of life.
Hey! ashlyn_maxwelllewis here! Awesome video, and to answer your questions: the weird plant is an elephant plant! All the plants in his enclosure are okay for him to munch on (though he usually prefers to just smash them), and he usually destroys them so fast that I don't have to worry about them drying out lol. The little hide in Yami's enclosure is a 3D printed Bulbasaur bulb hide that my husband printed for him! We just got a 3D printer and are super excited to try more things in both enclosures! The moss skull I found in the fish enclosure section at Walmart! Yami LOVES it, but it is pretty tiny so I don't know how much longer he can fit lol. And yes Yami loves hiding in the green wall! I got that at Michaels. He also loves hanging from the phone cord! I got that idea from reddit, and it is awesome! He looks so stunning perched up there with the greenery backdrop! Thank you so much for rating my enclosures!
Oh yay! Thank you for all the answers. Elephant plant! I need to get one - it's so cute. And 😱 I didn't even realize it was a Bulbasaur hide. That's awesome! What morph/locality is Yami? Such a beautiful snake 😊
@@ellesreptiles Yami is a reverse striped Cal. Kingsnake! We got him at the Birmingham Repticon from Ryno's Reptiles. I had never seen a kingsnake with that pattern before him so I instantly fell in love! He's absolutely beautiful and has an amazing temperament to match.
I think the plants you like are Portulacaria afra, common name Elephant Bush or Drawf Jade Plant (or Spekboom in Afrikaans). They are a type of succulent and do best in drier environments, but can grow successfully in high humidity but low soil moisture. So if you want one in a tank, maybe try keeping it in its own pot/planter so the roots don't come into contact with water too often. Hope this helps!
You know how Bearded Dragons eat veggies (at least when THEY want to)? Try planting sunflower seeds or other safe microgreens for them to eat as the seeds sprout!
I can't wait to eventually submit a photo of a daydteam tank setup. my current one is temporary and nowhere near as awesome. I really like the half tile half sand one for the bearded dragon. these tanks are goals 🙌 😍
Also, completely fine about the footage hahaha! but would’ve loved to see you scream his name. and thank you about the carpet, what’s the best thing for me to use instead? i would like to change that immediately even though it’s just temporary.
Yea, I just KNEW when I checked the camera that we still had a good chunk of that footage. Sat down to edit and... nope, all gone 😕 Ceramic or slate tile, paper towels, a homemade loose substrate mix, sand mats are ok - just hard to clean, excavator clay is another option - but still hard to clean, lugarti's bedding, biodude bedding, and Josh's Frogs bedding are a few options. 😊
Thank you so much for reacting to my ameiva enclosure! I will absolutely send you pictures of his 8x4x8 ft enclosure once it’s completely setup. Ameivas do love to dig which is why he has a lot of substrate. They will also block the entrance to their burrow with the substrate. Yes Reptilian Den, I did win a giveaway but I won the 5K giveaway when I had the name Wild Boy Reptiles
I so enjoy getting to see other enclosure setups you always get ideas from them. All the interrupts just made it much funnier. Great job today. Happy Sunday. GOD BLESS 🐸💖🐸💖🐸💖
I’m upgrading my Ball Python, Darwin’s enclosure because I just purchased my 2nd BP!!! I got a female who will live in Darwin’s “starter enclosure” until I upgrade her too. When I get his new enclosure done, I’ll send a picture to you for your opinion. It’ll be my very first custom enclosure and I’m doing it myself. I’m nervous but excited too! I’m 60 years old and these are my first reptiles. EVER! I’ve spent the last 2 years researching BP’s and their care so I’m confident that I can do it. It’s been 5 months since I got Darwin and he’s doing real well. Better late than never!!🐍❤️🐍
Hello I have two questions. 1. When you do a deep clean of your leopard geckos tank where do you put the gecko? 2. I believe it was the 2020 tank setup tour, you had a really cool stick you put in the leopard gecko tank. Can you give me a link or tell me where to find it because I have searched and searched for a good one but can't find one.
1. I just have a few sterilite bins I got from Walmart or Target that I drilled air holes in. I usually throw a hide in there or some napkins so they can feel secure. 😊 2. Most of the wood I use is driftwood that I gathered from a local river a couple years ago when it flooded. I just brought it home and sterilized it. Finding nice driftwood that's not incredibly expensive is definitely hard. 😕
On the day that we record these, I post here on UA-cam in my community tab, and on Instagram asking for pictures. When I post those, you can send them to my instagram (@elle.622) or email them (ellesreptiles@gmail.com). I also put all that info in the posts as well 😊
If I have a dig box on a little less than half of the tank and I don't have room for my cold hide can I put the cold hide on top of the soil in the dig box? If not should I make my dig box a little smaller so I have room for the cool side hide?
If you need heat, a ceramic heat emitter, deep heat projector, or heat pad on a thermostat are all good options. If you're asking about light, like the APSS said, light isn't recommended at night. ♥️

my snake plants are thriving in my custom 18x18x24 crestie enclosure, and my 12x12x18 baby crestie has one aswell, both seem to be doing great

All those Reptile enclosure setups looked awesome in the summer I'm going to make a cool setup for my Painted Wood Turtle Shelly
I can’t wait to be happy enough with my enclosures to share them with you & your followers not quite there yet🙄
I think the plant you're asking about is called elephant feed.
Thank you so much!!! 😁
Loved the video, it helped with my leopard gecko, and crestie setups. Love your channel a lot!

Looks like elephant bush

Sorry for the corny "grandpa joke!"
i was like #223 lol
me and my beardie watched this video together😂
Hi I have a fancy leopard gecko for they day time I use a uvb heat bulb what do you recommend I use for the night.
As in heat or light for lighting it is not recommended to use it at night
If you need heat, a ceramic heat emitter, deep heat projector, or heat pad on a thermostat are all good options. If you're asking about light, like the APSS said, light isn't recommended at night. ♥️
Den is cute
He is! 😍
I have a question how long do leopard geckos go without food because times been very hard and I have got any food in a while
Anything longer than a week is not optimal and they might lose weight. Try breeding mealworms or dubia roaches
my plants keep dying too :(
