    Dear Elle,
Please consider making a video to help raise awareness for the Lacey Act Amendments that have just moved up to the Senate. These amendments will directly affect the exotic pet community tremendously, making it so that every animal that is not a cat, dog, or traditional farm animal will be automatically "black listed" throughout the US and will therefore not be able to cross any state border in efforts to boost national security as well as the American economy. These amendments will essentially reverse the federal lawsuit that USARK just won.
If these are passed, the pet trade will be severely crippled because pet stores, as well as small breeders and sellers, will not be able to import or export their animals to other states. While the Lacey Act Amendments do have room to create a “white list” of acceptable animals, this will take far too much time and money to successfully add animals to the list, essentially making it impossible to add more rare exotic animals to the list because they will not have the same support as more commonly kept species.
As a final thought, these amendments are far too broad. They generalize the entire US, pretending like each state's climate is the same. I live in the North West, which I can assure you is far different than, say, Florida. I believe it should be left up to each state individually to decide what could potentially be a problem based on their environment, not everyone else’s.
If nothing else, I wanted to share this problem with the community as there has not been much discussion on the subject as far as I can tell…
If anyone wants more information, please go check out USARK’s articles on the 2022 lacey amendments on their website and consider supporting them as they support us in the pet trade.

Always do your research before bringing a reptile home! Can't stress that enough! I absolutely love my beardies, but I can honestly say that they can occasionally be a pain in butt for different reasons. It truly is like having toddlers lol. I got lucky with the python. Soba eats consistently. Once I stopped feeding him in his tank I had more improvement with him.

I've been watching reptile keeping YT for over a year now, and you are the first to explain the importance of digging for leopard/crested geckos. I don't plan to get either one, but I still appreciate the knowledge. Thank you.

Yea, it's just something that I personally witnessed with my leopard geckos and so I looked into it - and its definitely a normal/natural behavior. So I just thought I'd share 🥰

One thing about leopard geckos that I’ve found is kind of like corns in that they can be fast with like no warning, my girl can be fairly chill when she’s out but you can just see in her eyes she’s looking at where to dart off to next.
Don’t get me wrong, my girl can be super sweet when she wants, but the best way to describe her is a pit bull in a gecko’s body😂 Her name, Bandit, suits her well.

I had a beardie for over 15 years, I think the biggest con for me was their stinky poop. It never fails either, you clean their enclosure, and then they poop and it stinks up the entire room. I have several other herps and none thus far have matched a beardie smell.

It’s so important to let people know the cons of any animal they want to get. If more people were aware of them we wouldn’t have so many animals discarded, after a short period of time, due to ignorance. 🦎❤️🦎

We have 4 out of 5 from this list in our collection 😅 corn snake is the only one we don't have (garter snakes are our choice of colubrids). Good video to watch, but leopard geckos should have a con of being super derpy added! Our little girl takes a few tries to actually get her food in her mouth 😅
