Please never feel that your struggle and pain isn't valid because the world is struggling or because you feel that it is less valid than another's loss or struggle. You can be sad and upset about personal struggles and losses while still being aware of global struggles. Your feelings and your loss are valid and it's okay to express it no matter what. So sorry for your loss.

I actually find tarantulas way less unnerving than regular spiders 😂 I think it’s because the little house spiders are so fast? And they just run under posters, into couches and beds…I just don’t like when they disappear 😂

I am sorry about your losses as well. Each time we lost a pet, I would always grieve for them. They are pets and part of the family.
That tarantula owner feel of "She's actually a girl!" I had a desert blonde from basically a hatchling and when her pedipalps finally popped I was like, "I'll guess I'll enjoy the rest of the time she has but I know it's not gonna be long." I would also love some tarantula vids. :)

Wonderful collection! Maybe when I retire I will have time for an actual reptile room lol. My Irían Jaya is also full of attitude. Just when I think we’re best buddies he will take a nip at me . Have a great week
Haha exactly! One day he's scratching at the glass, wanting out, and we're best friends. The next day I open the tank and he charges at me, mouth open, and bites at me 😅😅😅

Thank you for showing all of your pets! I always wonder what sorts of animals different people like to keep. I've wanted a little leopard gecko, but my family isn't fond of reptiles, so instead I just have cats. I have to live vicariously through reptile owner videos instead.
I personally don't like tarantulas but you are a good animal keeper and i think you should share your tips and experience with other people who want one
My son loves spiders! We would love to see more videos of them!
I love gerbils and had 2 sisters in my teens that used to love burying their food and forgetting where they buried it and because i had about a foot of compost in the tank i'd see spots of greenery as the sunflowwer seeds and other seeds started germinating which made cleaning the tank kinda upsetting as i loved their tunnels and the bioactivity of the food growing so i'd wait as long as possible before cleaning it all out so they could have as much fun as possible burrowing about.
I also had mice, rats and hamsters that i'd let burrow but the hamsters the bitey little gits that they were hated me cleaning their tanks. Every hamster i've ever owned love biting and they would always bite the fold of skin between your thumb and ring finger every one and i've had around 30 in my lifetime.
The rats and mice though were absolutely adorable and smelled sweet too although i'm pretty sure that was the urine. I'd often get baths with the rats too just for the fun of it and it was nice seeing the rats clamber on to me and curl up on my chest.
pacman frog lives matters
My son wanted a tarantula, we got a beta fish. Then we got hermit crabs. Then a gecko, then a bearded dragon. At this time, we have a bearded dragon and 3 hermit crabs. One of the crabs we had for 4 years. The other 2 crabs we have had for over a year. The crabs are easy to care for. They are in a tank with a heating pad, sand, they get saltwater and freshwater.

Cool stuff! Makes me miss when my house was like that!! Also couple points about the calathea that could help you - they won't really thrive under intense lighting, rather they like bright and indirect light; they don't want darkness obviously, but they grow naturally on the forest floor in central and South America. That's why if you notice, the backsides of many calathea leaves are purplish or red... It's to absorb as much light as they can on the darker ground level, with many giant trees & shrubs above them. But too dark and they lose their photosynthesis ability and colors..
Maybe you know this one but they prefer the highest quality water you can give them! I.e., reverse osmosis... but in lieu of that, they'll do fine with spring water, filtered "drinking" water, and even basic Brita or Pur pitchers. I'm assuming you give your reptiles good water though 😇 I've also wondered if they'd be ok with water treated with ReptiDrops or aquarium water conditioners. Never tried.

Sand boas are cool! They stay pretty small and have pretty easy care requirements 🥰
Wow that's so cool, i love yr collection. You are lucky that your mom lets you keep tbese animals, I've been constantly trying to confuse mine but they won't agree.

They're very expensive 😅. I don't have one, I just only buy Reptisun bulbs and replace every 6 months just to be safe. I need to get one though.

I am terrible at having plants in my reptile enclosures. I can grow Pothos and spider plants. Maybe. On a good day. That's one of the reasons why I haven't really tried to do a bio active tank. I guess we all have to know our limits.

Yep! 😊 I live about 30 minutes from there, so I don’t get to go too often (usually just when we're dropping off our products to sell there, and then I'll buy a bunch of feeders while I'm there), but they’re absolutely amazing. I've gotten multiple of my reptiles from there 🥰

You know, every day there is some tragic thing going on in the world. 99.999% of it is completely out of our control. And we all still live in our own little worlds and when we lose an animal that is important to our world. Don't ever feel like it's not important enough to mention it if you want to mention it I don't think anybody's going to hold it against you and if they do that's their problem.

Hey, not asking you to commit here , just asking an off hand opinion. We have an Anole ( woo right? lol) anyway, his tank is in the kitchen. He is a green Anole that just stays brown. The thing seems to love hanging out and watching the daily life here. Long story short, we altered temp within expected parameters, checked off the food and humidity . It left the possibility of him being stressed about too much activity and exposure. Note he has a ton of hide areas. New problem, he is still mucky colored but insisted on sitting in 1 corner UPSIDE DOWN, in the dark. Are we anthropomorphizing or is he depressed? Just what i need a neurotic lizard.
oh forgot to say we put on a surround back ground and then he started hanging upside down.

I really need some help my female leopard gecko Alexis (around 2 years old? Not 100% sure) has a lump on her left back hip and no vets will take her in where we live I need to know if it’s something t worry about or not!!
My son's Pac-Man frog "dave" hasn't eaten in 7 months. The reptile shops in our region don't seem to have advice and are actually confused as to how he's alive. He hasn't lost any weight and it's concerning for us that he won't eat. Any advice?

i recently ordered a baby leopard gecko. i got Bartholomew to eat from tongs. he is still very unsure of me and rarely comes out from his hides aside from when i take them out to feed him. he hasn’t used the restroom either. he was in his moist hide for most of day 2. is this normal? i just want him to like me:) i have not handled him! any tips on how to get him to warm up to me?
As always - if you're worried about your reptile, please take them to a vet.
With that being said, most leopard gecko babies are very shy, and it's completely normal. ♥️ I got Percy as a tiny baby, and it took months for her to be comfortable with me - she also really liked her moist hide. Now she will walk directly into my hand when I put it in the tank. 🥰 They just, generally, take a bit more time to warm up. Just be patient, hand feed when possible, and put your hand in the tank (where he can see you) often. Eventually they get used to you and realize you're not a threat.
Hi my bearded dragon has crooked hands how can I fix it
I'm not sure without seeing them, but crooked hands can be Metabolic Bone Disease, which means they're highly calcium and/or vitamin D deficient, causing the bones to soften. If this is the case, you'd need to take them to the vet.
how do u keep the humidity high enough in your BP enclosures?
Just spraying them down at night when I spray the gecko tanks. Luckily my female has never had shedding issues, but for Sterling, I try to always put wet sphagnum moss in his hide when he's about to shed. You can also just keep a moist hide in the tank so you don't have to worry about the humidity as much (Sterling just won't use one 😕)

Sometimes the people and animals close to us are what matters at the end. So no reason to get ashamed of posting the death of an animal if you feel it is important to you.

What happened to your fire skink
She passed away a little over 3 years ago now, only a few months after getting her. It turned out that she was shipped with bad parasites and it was too late for her 😕
