Man, you have been my near exclusive teacher for years now.. All I ever wanted was to be able to play some cool Who/Pete tunes, and you have really opened the door for me. Endless learning of scales, chords, tabs, notes, etc. etc. for years and years yielded me almost nothing until I found you. I am just truly life-grateful brother. What an amazing talent you have for the 'correct' sounds imo. My playing has improved exponentially these last few years. f i n a l l y
Wish I could get the 'tremolo' picking more consistent... been working on that for centuries too.. maybe one day
Rock on brother - I hope the good karma returns to you 1000-fold

So cool! Played this one in my high school band in the late sixties. Faked all the nuances that James has brought to life. LOL Played a Hagstrom solid body through a Traynor quad 6L6 amp.

Of course. Yes I was joking. I'm a pianist and music teacher and your videos are fantastic. They have helped me and so many of my students who also play guitar we are very grateful. Particularly during this season that now believes the spirit of Hanukah and Christmas are found in a shopping mall. Please keep the videos coming and don't change a thing - they're, well they're- perfect. Merry Christmas P

Another great tune I've been playing just a piece of for ever it seems. Thanks for the lesson. Starting to sound like a whole song for me now. I wish I could figure this stuff out for myself, but thank goodness we've got you man.

    Excellent job there JJ.
    Thanks for that.
Now you've made me divert my attention away from what I should be doing, and go and practice on this! One of my favourites from the 60's, but it always eluded my attempts to work it out with any real success.
I only wish I could play drums too, this being one of Keith's most insane efforts on the skins.
    The lawns can wait!

Hey James James, just saw your last "Privettricker" video (yeah, I'm a little behind on my subs, LOL).
I'd like to thank you for all the help and pointers you've given me. I too, primarily learn songs by ear, but I've used videos of the original musicians playing their songs and others' (like yourself) interpretation of how to play these songs to fill in the gaps in my knowledge.
    All the best, Will.

What amazes me about yourself is how you can play so much. When people talk about the greatest guitar players like Hendrix, Van Halen etc., I often wonder if they could of played so much of other peoples music.
In other words, maybe they were not that great. They did create such great music but what else can they play.
Who, in your opinion was a great guitar player?

James James I just saw the Who perform at American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX on 'The Who hits fifty' tour and let me tell you... that was one of the best concerts I've been to (and I've seen Clapton and Winwood perform together on their 2009 tour, Skynyrd, Doobie bros, Rick Derringer, Great White, Foreigner and more) still a damn good show. The Who are up in age but it has NOT affected their performance!

I've learned through watching your vids that The Who modulate to different keys in many of their songs. Do you know if the Rolling Stones did this in any of their songs?

Thanks for showing the chords for this one even though I picked it up on your old channel. Also I've figured out Keith's chuck berry licks on little queenie by ear, but I don't know the rhythm part, is there any way you could post a rhythm part on that song?
