I'll tip my hat to the new Marty Music Take a bow for the new revolution Smile and grin at the change all around Pick up my guitar and play Just like yesterday Then I'll get on my knees and pray We don't get fooled again
107 comments before I arrived. I can't believe I missed this masterclass on The Who. There have been LOTS of great lessons from the master(Marty), but this one seems to be at the top of them all. Thanks Marty!
😂 U really enjoyed that bit at the beginning, didn't you, Marty. Hold your horses young man, you aren't on that New York stage just yet. Brilliant stuff as always. ✌️
If you could only harness that windmill, Marty, you could have enough energy to run your amp. Great lesson, see your Hendrix course is on sale, thanks Marty.😀🎸🎵🎶
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This mainly worked because of the insane volume Pete was playing at. On the original record, you can hear the tortured distortion, especially in those A power chord hits. By the way....can anyone ever guess when that epic final primal scream of Roger's comes in on the recording? I almost always get it wrong every time. 😎🎸🎸
You got to the A-G-D-A after all. I thought you were going to miss it at first! Asus is the "secret Townsend chord." Love the solo in B. Great Pete touch. He plays it many different ways through the years. I've seen him play the bar chords when he gets to B so he's in better position for the solo and double stops. But there is much variation, as there would be after 50 years. Also, perhaps interesting, the guitarist who plays with him now plays it even differently if you check the videos.
Man you rock, Marty! I’ve been fiddling with the guitar since I was 15. 31 now. Nothing too serious. Typical bedroom guitarist. Finally got with the program and decided to learn some songs. So I saw your vids. Hey Joe. Dani California, American Pie, Drift Away, Twice as Hard, In the Middle, Mr. Jones and now the Who. I’ve learned more in the past week than I have over the course of the years as a self taught guitarist just messing around. I’m no Kath or Scholz but I have fun with it! Can I request a song? How about Just Dropped In by Kenny Rogers? The Dude abides. Or maybe Wasting my Time by Default? That song was everywhere in the early 2000’s but faded away. Keep rockin’ Marty!

Can you please give us the simple version of " The Wanderer"? Stephen Pearcy just covered it. But I'd like the DION version for my mom with Dementia... thank you
Very fun song to play. Wish someone meone would show a decent way to do the keyboard part so it can either be looped or someone else can play it if you don’t have a keys player. It’s one of the main qualities of the song.
I'm no Marty. But, get your acoustic out and play it the same way. That's what I would think. I don't think Pete Townshend would do it much different. 🤔
@@tmurphy1000 ok. But he's still just using A,G,D,E....... just up the neck. Except when he goes to B. Mixing double stops and pentatonic runs in. Pete Townshend is blillant but also simple. I mean there's nothing complicated like different modes or something. Great great rythem player. But he said " someone had to play rythem in the who."
Been playing this for 40 years- on air guitar. Thanks for the vid!

Can you please give us the simple version of " The Wanderer"? Stephen Pearcy just covered it. But I'd like the DION version for my mom with Dementia... thank you

Do pinball wizard next!
Hey great stuff! Is that a 1950s Re-Issue Gibson LP Standard?
Nice!

@@johnzito4913 it’s more fun to play it…:) I’ve tried the way Eddie did it but I’m not that great at it.
Daisy jones and the six man!!
YEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! 😎
Minuto 6:30 😂😂😂😂
Thank you
Can you do an acoustic version of this? I actually like his acoustic version better.
I'm no Marty. But, get your acoustic out and play it the same way. That's what I would think. I don't think Pete Townshend would do it much different. 🤔
@@roberteberhart1824 maybe it’s a start, but go to, eg, secret policeman’s ball and he’s got other chords and patterns going on.
