I saw that same show at the UPS Fieldhouse. They tried to clear the crowd for the 2nd show, but some of us lingered long enough to still be there when they opened the doors for the 2nd show. So we got to see both shows for the price of one ticket.
Not his best performance of this song, this is a later version of the S&TFS right before Freddie left the band. But nobody can sing like Sly. A unique and wickedly funky, soulful voice. He is an incredible singer, songrwriter and funky superhero.
By spring of 74’ Sly already had a greatest hits. So, when we had road trips for the track team, at Cathedral HS, Spfld. Ma. the 8 track was our official soundtrack travelling around western Massachusetts.

Old school cool. Mid 70's I drove around with an 8-track of FRESH. Later had the LP.
Went to a sly Stone concert in Tacoma, Wa when I was 19 he was 2 hours late, but it was well worth it, he put on a great show.
I was there! Always loved his songs!!
I was there too!
I saw that same show at the UPS Fieldhouse. They tried to clear the crowd for the 2nd show, but some of us lingered long enough to still be there when they opened the doors for the 2nd show. So we got to see both shows for the price of one ticket.
@@stevedillinger653 Now how cool is that.
I saw Sly and his Family back in 1973 and I stood right behind the drummer all night, great time, the drummer really mixed it up,
That would been the drummer in this clip the legend Andy Newmark who left the band when Sly bounced a cheque on him.
I saw them in 71 in a small venue in Tacoma,Washington. They were great then 👍and still listening to them.
Funky drummer and he really gets some good licks in between it all
Say I'm 16 and this song is my favorite song
Go head!
Sly's songs, you never get tired of. Know what I'm sayin'?
Sly and his BAND some of the greatest songs of the 70,s
Love this man and his music! My life with Sly goes back decades! My fav! 💗
My account of his too bad about his current financial situation take care of yourself Sly
Pure flow...Cynthia on the trumpet...silk.
Man I wish I could see these people play a concert just one time before I die
Young Lady he's around 70th years old now if not older , l sure was Blessed .
Not his best performance of this song, this is a later version of the S&TFS right before Freddie left the band. But nobody can sing like Sly. A unique and wickedly funky, soulful voice. He is an incredible singer, songrwriter and funky superhero.
I love the foot-stampin' intro...
The vocal dexterity and range aweeeeeesome👊🏿✊🏿
This song came out when I was 14 I played this song when I was about to go out every night the rhythm of this song got to me Philly Girl.
How Fucking Cool is Sly?!😁👏💕
All day and into the very late afternoon at Spartan Stadium and still no Sly! Worth the long wait and the heated battles at the 50 yard-line! Fun!
By spring of 74’ Sly already had a greatest hits. So, when we had road trips for the track team, at Cathedral HS, Spfld. Ma. the 8 track was our official soundtrack travelling around western Massachusetts.
Yup! I got the album (and later the CD twice ... as it kept getting "lost"). Bet you saw some great shows at Springfield Colosseum, yeah? I wasn't old enough to go to shows until 1978, but did see Graham Central Station at HCC.
So talented and so good- looking and fine. It is shameful that the demons invaded his soul. God bless him.🙏❤
Yep... and he could never shake them demons off...he’s still messed up...but his FUNK music is TIMELESS 🎧🎶👍🏾
I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!! I was privileged to have been a teenager when they were popular, and I am sooooo grateful! To this day, I cannot sit still when he sings! He is soooo FUNKAY!!!!! 😎
I still ENJOY LISTENING to Sly and Family Stone Till this very day.👍🏻
If you want me to stay has been one of my favourites since I first heard it ,early 70’s but I’ve never seen it live!! Thankyou. So Much!X
The genius of Sly Stone....
This music is all around great and timeless, and I say this as a white dude who came up listening to master p and bone thugs n harmony. I'm so grateful for the culture, and ya light still shines bright sly!!!! We love and miss you
Sly is so pfunky and he is true genius. He now is finally vindicated. May he be in soul peace for his gift to us all. We all have deep troubles. The stone cold blues. Bless all our beautiful artist fallen in the name of Love.
C'est un de ces morceaux qui font penser que la vie vaut la peine d'être vécue. Pour avoir la chance d'entendre, de vivre, cette musique, car ce n'est pas seulement de la musique, mais de la vie.
La vraie vie. La vie d'avant.
Love this song still after all these years ♥️🎸♥️🎸♥️🎸♥️🎸♥️🎸♥️😎
I saw him in his last concert in San Jose. Love this dude. Fresh!!
Still listening in Indianapolis, IN on 11/10/20...If You Want Me to Stay!!!
