I think Prince was very inspired by Sly! I know when I 1st heard this , as a kid , I played it over and over again! Still do ! It is timeless...... Sly, one of the Greatest there EVER was! Feel blessed to have grown up with this incredible music!..... ❤💃❤💃❤🎶🎷🎙🎙📻🎹🎺🎷🥁🎶
Prince learned everything from Sly. The racially integrated, sexually integrated band of white, black, male and female members.Prince wrote, arranged and produced like Sly. Played multiple instruments and sang like Sly.Played funk, soul, rock with horn arrangements at times too. As talented as Prince was,I would take Sly and the Family Stone over him every time.
Yes both Sly and Larry Graham.
A true classy artist went to see him in WA state and he was 2 hrs late, no one cared, really enjoyed his concert, he was well received.
All day and into the very late afternoon at Spartan Stadium and still no Sly! Worth the long wait and the heated battles at the 50 yard-line! Fun!
A blessing from God. It is so nice how whites & blacks can come together and enjoy themselves. I recently discovered their music. And I am enjoying it. Besides any group that mentions Scooby Doo by name is more than alright with me. I am 64 years young. Peace out.
Been feeling it for a long long long time. Summer time fireworks and fireflies man. You all be safe out there amongst.
Saw them at Altamont ❤ Fabulous

Sly and his BAND some of the greatest songs of the 70,s
I could listen to Sly 24 hrs seriously the band was Amazing
That's Possibly My Favorite SLY AND FAMILY STONE Song Ever. You Here Those Horns, That Bass?
Yes!! 🤗
The genius of Sly Stone....
I thank God for what I been through 🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽❤️❤️🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The vocal dexterity and range aweeeeeesome👊🏿✊🏿
Saw them in concert at the Miami Jai-Lai Fronton on December 5, 1970 one hell of a show. By then he had a reputation of not showing up for shows or like he did in New York where he played one song "If you want me to stay" and walked off stage.
I had that album in seventy nine and was a big influence on me as i learned guitar , piano in my eleventh year onto fifty two now. Sincerely , Winston.
Fresh. One of the best albums I've ever heard
I am 67 and this music inspires me keep going strong in all aspects. Never felt better and more in love with life.
LOVE when Sly hit “that high note” I think I was about ten when I learned this entire song, now I’m almost sixty.. this is one of my three favorite bands along with EWF and Kool & The Gang..
Sly is just amazing. You can feel the Holy Spirit moving through him. He is both legend and icon. Love him.
these folks were so effortlessly cool and beautiful. Nobody today can compare. Forget it posers
Old school cool. Mid 70's I drove around with an 8-track of FRESH. Later had the LP.
I saw him in his last concert in San Jose. Love this dude. Fresh!!
Sly was the ultimate innovator no one was making this type of music him and James Brown changed music forever
My 2 favorite FUNK masters, both were so different, but their music made everybody get on the dance floor with no hesitation...70s BEST MUSIC 🎶🎧🎶
You can't leave out George Clinton, he changed music just as much
You are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!👍🏾
@@darienhigh yeah but sly had a bigger impact. Remember parliament was a do-wop group. Funkadelic came well after sly
@@rodmoore1577 not WAY after, Sly was active from 1966, Funkadelic formed in '68. But I agree Sly appealed to a more diverse crowd considering they were a multi ethnic band.
Damn...never get tired of Sly.
