- We got the engine out! I wish there was more visual substance to show you guys here, unfortunately it's hard to convey effort through video. I took my time, one bolt at a time with this one trying to be sure not to mess anything up. But, the 2.0 engine is out of the NC and now onto swapping things to the 2.5.
PS: Sorry I forgot to include the picture of the broken pipe. It's late, been a long day.

Congrats on getting it out!
WOW!!! Nice job!! especially solo!
Fantastic effect my friend, I can see how nervous you are and I would be to, don't stress about uploading vids if life gets in the way, we can wait.
Really enjoying the 2.5 swap & if I can get a 2.5 imported to the UK at the right price I might give it a go to.
Well done & all the best 👍
Thanks for the videos, you’ve inspired me to get back working on my MX5 (as they’re called in the U.K.)
Incredible!
Great job.
We Enjoy watching your channel 👌 Great vibes , We definitely support big time 🥂😎
Thanks dudes!
Excellent vid! Funny I used my old skate board, (roller derby, clay wheels, oak board), for the same thing while removing my engine from my first 1966 MGB. It did destroy the skate board though! I had no idea what I was doing but it was fun! No interweb in those days. Look forward to the next vid. BTW, time to hammer down a couple of brews!!
Those things we keep around for years always come in handy even though at times its sacrificial. It's like your past self has a way of leaving you a helpful hand. Or we are just hoarders. Either way.
damn! sucks about the water line. but the fact that you just dealt with it AND the car... props!
Yea it sucks but I hate to waste a day!
Hi mate, great video. Can I ask, how did you end up with the wiring loom still in place. I was trying to undo all the wiring from the engine, but then leave the loom in place on the car, but there seem to be some connectors you literally cannot access, particularly on the back of the engine. Did you unhook it all from the fusebox or something like that. I feel like I'm a bit stuck at the moment.
Like your video! Be careful and take your time when mounting back the sub frame. I almost stripped my Bolt on my car.
It's all good;)
i have a question about this swap, so basically all you need for the swap is the engine and all you have to do is install it into the vehicle? do you need extra parts to make it fit or its just a install?
Hi friend, did you have to replace the oil pan the engine head cover plastic in the project of replacing the engines in the Miata between 2.0 and 2.5 .
Yes it's all in the 2.5 build series playlist.
I freaking have totally been In that spot. Where do you have the day planned and all of a sudden something goes catastrophically wrong with the house. Lol house’s are as much a project as my race car. Lol
Do you think its possible to drop the engine and trans out from underneath while leaving the AC system intact?
I'm sure you could
Great video! Did the 2.0 engine blow up, or are you just swapping for more power?
Jist swapping for more power!
Hi Jackson, quick question on this stage of the swap: what fastener did you use to lift the car? looks like a long eye bolt.
It's the tow hook that comes with the car. I don't recommend doing it this way though, it bends the mount a little.
@@ColoredinLight I ended up using the frame rails to lift. I saw Mitch use the center support thing in front of the engine, but that made me nervous too.
Question! Did you have fitment issues with the obx header?
Nope
Colored in Light thanks! What exhaust system did you have on it?
Improv!!
Think on the positive side- it was a plumbing opportunity.
The Miata... the one car you would do things with... and to... that you'd never do to another car. Welcome to the "I've swapped an engine in" club.
Harbor Freight furniture dollies (1000lb) are perfect for strapping to the bottom of the subframe and moving the engine/trans combo around.
If you can't pull engine to swap in built 2.5L, get one that's supercharged!
$10,000 reserve, ends Monday noon Eastern Time

Great work, just use happier music, that was a bit depressing..
Lofi is the best music
