- This is a 2.5L engine from a 2017 Ford Fusion. We added stage 1 cams for an improved power band while keeping the car street friendly. The swap was done by Walshmo Racing in La Habra, California. Labor for a similar swap and engine build (Cam install, porting, etc) is $2100 from Walshmo.

Is it still possible to get the chrome fuel door for the PRHT? I looked all over and only found it for the soft top, apparently they are different. I'm picking up a 2008 Highland Green Mica tomorrow and I think that would look great on it.
yes you would just have to source it from a salvage yard. Also try Ebay or Ebay UK

Nice footage, my 07 NC is under 2.5 swap these days. I guessed the other 17 fusion 2.5 10K motor was picked by me from LKQ. Mine have the pretty same build as yours, fab9 stage1 cams with GWR 1.8 header.

Yes the new engine is going in next week. I’m paying the guy to come out to my house and swap it so I can film the whole process

The market looked bubbly so I sold off my cars. I enjoy this miata a lot more than the exotics.

This shop installed the balance shaft delete plug incorrectly and I had to put a new engine in myself.

I just blew the engine in my NC Miata yesterday. I have an automatic, does it matter whether you have an automatic or manual in terms of this engine swap?
it does not. there are several posts out there with the 2.5 swap using the auto. after the swap needs a retune though from what i understand.
Hey Zent, thanks for this video, I am in Australia and I am thinking about doing the 2.5 swap on my NC, but I am struggling a bit finding that duratec engine, I think there ara some Mazda 6 that have this one but do you know how can I distinguish them? is there any marks or something?
mazda 6 has a better forged crank than the dura
I bet it’s a whole lot better daily driver with the added torque down low. I never knew this was a common swap to do in miatas. I’m curious to see how much better it will do on the track. How long did it take to swap it?
The guy in the video did it in about 10 hours taking his time. This included swapping the cams and retiming them. It would have likely taken me 40 hours.

Yeah I'm running raybestos st43 race pads. If I switch back to stock pads the brakes will be quiet.

I'm not sure yet. I want to see what type of lap times it puts down with the new engine. It is significantly faster now.
Are the cam position reluctant wheels the same?

This shop specializes in K-swapped Miatas and S2000s. They said the 2.5 swap was incredibly straightforward, so I'd imagine any shop could do it.
Would it run with the stock 2.0 ecu or does it require a tune?
Yes stock 2.5 will run with stock 2.0 tune... but 'd still get it tuned right away. Cammed 2.5 probably wouldn't run well.

Should be fine. It is the ecutek datalogger, not my cell phone. I need to monitor the data when doing a road test. In this case.. I will ruin the engine if I keep driving it right now.
