I've taken a "horsetail" supplement on and off for a few years (I intentionally take breaks from it) and it has absolutely increased the number of hairs that grow. I'm not referring to rapid hair growth, I'm referring to the increase in the number of hairs, very visible at the hairline, and the reappearance of some "baby" hair. It restored my hair to a point where I'm pleased again.

Check how much protein you are eating. You need to get at least 1 gram of protein for every pound of health weight. So if you want to weight 120 pounds then you need to eat AT LEAST 120 grams of protein. I started having some of these issues also and was told to check how much protein I was getting. I thought I was getting enough, turns out I was only getting 50 to 60 grams of protein a day. I now eat between 120 to 150 grams in protein. Anyone having hot flashes, night sweets, waking up in the middle of the night? Up the animal fat your taking in....amazing! Don't be afraid of fat peeps I eat 200 grams daily and my hubby knows when I've not had enough fat, he just comes to me with a plate of little butter bits. We are both happy then!!!

Really enjoyed watching your video clip
I'm a "fan" on taking vitamins, and this is the first time i heard about silica on a suplement form.
I reside in Zimbabwe ; in this country we drink borehole water , as we do not rely on the hygiene of tap water
    My question is
How do i know that the borehole water i drink contains silica?
Is there a 'home method' to have that knowledge?
Does boiling water destroy the silica in it?
Per axample black tea , etc.
Our cattle builds lime at the bottom , after some time ; so i am not sure if that has anything to do with silica.....
Does stress destroy the silica in our body?
How much silica do we need daily (from water and food sources) to get a beatiful , healthy hair?
    I'm asking many questions!
It must be overwhelming to answear so much mail!😅
    Thank you Dr. patricia
    You're so kind.....
    P.S.
    For your cough ,
in 2 cups of water boil:
a lemon rind , ginger , 2 black peppers , 2 cloves (must crush the tops), after five minutes , remove from stove, cover and let it rest for another five minutes, sweeten with honey and drink it hot.
Repeat till the cough gets cured.
The secret is 'lemon rind' , i learn from my Father , when i was a teenage......
    Its the best cough medicine!

      @dr.patriciamills  9 місяців тому +4

Hello, and thank you SO MUCH for the cough remedy! I will definitely give it a go :) With respect to your questions, 1. there is no easy at home test for silica in water, there are expensive equipment that can be purchased to determine; 2. silica is a mineral so boiling water does not destroy it; 3. I was unable to find any information on what happens to silica in the human body in times of stress (interesting question!), and 4. It is hard to say exactly how much silica is needed for healthy hair as it depends on various factors like your health status, your nutrient intake, your water silica content, etc. The research cited was done on 6-10mg of silica but whether more would be better is unknown! Hope this helps!

I really wish both of these doctors understood that food grade diatomaceous earth is SiO2 and once you put DE into your food or take it directly following a meal it gets converted to SiO4 aka orthosilicic acid and this is taken up into the bloodstream and used by every cell in your body. The body is far smarter and far and away more resourceful than it's given credit. Some day they will see the truth of what I am saying.

Actually food grade diatomaceous earth is amorphous freshwater sourced only and is the remains of diatoms also known as algae and they are the greatest source of pure opal silica in the world. This is the direct opposite of calcined or crystalline silica which was crystalized with extreme heat treatment and it closely akin to asbestos so yes you would never advocate for ingestion of a known cancer causing agent that would kill someone as that would most definitely be unethical. I think the fact that they are not clear on which one they are referring too is the biggest problem. So I see the reason for this confusion is their lack of transparency. Pool filter material should never be used. I wouldn't even use it in a pool. But food grade diatomaceous earth is less than one tenth of a percentage of crystalline silica and that's why it carries the food grade designation and certification. Emphasis on food grade.
