In your discussion concerning protein (meat), you break the grams down by for example, โ25 grams 3 times a day.โ Do you mean that the meat you consume for that day should be portioned out by meal or can you eat your meat all at one meal? Youโre so welcome! Ideally meat is spread out through the day over the 3 meals - in some studies itโs called protein pacing ๐

I am 77 years old, small boned ... in 1999, I SHATTERED my right wrist after slipping on ice! In ER, the surgeon told me he was doubtful he could "find all the pieces" so he couldn't promise the use of that hand but it would take around 2 years to reach any kind of decent healing. I was going to be in a cast for 6 months followed by a year and a half of physical therapy. He took tests, and I was diagnosed with osteoporosis. At that time, I was a worship leader, the one who played guitar! So I told the surgeon, "That's not going to work for me. Do you mind if I pray for you?" I asked Jesus to help him find every piece and put my wrist back together again. When I woke up in Recovery, the surgeon spoke into my ear, "I found every piece. It was like stringing pearls!" Thankful but still ended up with 3 screws and a cast. However, I kept praying for God's intervention. Fast forward >>> in 6 weeks I was playing guitar at our daughter's wedding - without a cast, without a brace! Yay God! However, I still had osteoporosis. Over the next 3 years, I tried 3 different medications: Fosamax, Actenol, and Boniva. Horrible side effects. So I stopped taking anything and started researching. Found out that walking builds bone ... so 10,000 steps a day since. Around 2005, I had another bone scan - LOW RISK FOR OSTEOPORISIS! Wow! I was so happy. I am still walking those 10,000 steps a day! Recently, the bone scan showed a little bit of Osteopenia in my hips. :( Hence, watching your video today to learn more about getting that reversed too! Wow, I so appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I have been researching the topic for months and have not found anything else as informative as the information you have provided! I have a fibroid the size of a cantaloupe. The gynaecologist wants to remove it along with my uterus because I am done having children. He hopes to leave my ovaries intact so it should hopefully not affect my hormones. I am thinking that due to the size of the growth I am beyond natural means. My question; is there any reason I should ask him to only remove the fibroid and leave the uterus as long as I take your health suggestions to ensure I avoid regrowth? Or is it a safer bet to just have him take the uterus while in there (I certainly donโt want another surgery down the road)?
Great question! Removal of the uterus can affect blood flow to the ovaries causing an early and/or more severe menopause. Personally Iโd keep my uterus intact if that were an option for me. It really depends on the person and how severe the condition is - my preference is the other strategies I discussed first (nutrition, exercise, supplements, hormone therapy) and then if not enough, meds - but every person is unique and that needs to be taken into consideration ๐

Calcium should be ingested by eating or drinking calcium rich foods; supplemental calcium can cause a build up of plaque in one's arteries. I learned that the hard way,.
That does happen if you donโt take calcium with magnesium. I also prefer a foods first approach with calcium ๐ but even so we need enough magnesium to keep calcium soluble and prevent it from depositing in the wrong places ๐๐ผ

Hi! Sorry what do you mean if you can use dates? As in can you use dates as a snack? For some people itโs fine, for others thereโs a too high blood sugar spike with dried fruits โค๏ธ
@dr.patriciamills Dear Ma'am I recently had a CBC test done, and Iโm concerned about the results. My hemoglobin is 10.7 g/dL, and my RBC count is 3.9 million/ยตL. I understand these levels may indicate mild anemia, and I wanted to ask for your advice on how best to manage this. For some background, I have a history of painful periods due to endometriosis. In March, I incorporated overnight soaked dates and their water into my diet, and I noticed that my menstrual pain was significantly reduced that month. However, I stopped using dates in the following months due to concerns about their sugar content. Given my recent CBC results, Iโm worried about my overall health, and I would appreciate your guidance on how to address the low hemoglobin and RBC levels. Are there any dietary changes or supplements you would recommend? Additionally, do you think my endometriosis and menstrual bleeding could be contributing to these low levels? Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your advice.

I don't see any way to do the bar- jumping dead lift at home. I have begun to do 50 jumping jacks and jumping up and down stairs. Your video is very good, thank you. I have been getting my protein, taking supplements and strength training for 14 months now. However my DEXA went from a -2.9 to a -3.2. So now, I have started HRT, take creatine and Fortibone. Bisphosphonates are something I will have to consider if this trajectory continues. But thanks for giving us hope๐ซถ.
I,m a 68yr.old woman ,not allowed to use HRT due to a breast cancer diagnosis 3 yrs.ago.Currently diagnosed with osteopenia.On medication that suppresses my natural hormone production even further.I feel my treatment can cause future problems with increased risk to develop osteoporosis and the risks associated with that.Do take a multivitamin and calcium /vit D3 supplement and try to do weight bearing exercise every day.Despite all this my bone density seems to deteriorate every year when I go for follow up dexa scan.Any advice?

If this is affected by inflammation and insulin, the carnivore way of eating would support that. Have you seen with any of your patients that this helps?
No - and the carnivore diet is an acid forming diet that could cause osteoporosis in the future (see my bone health playlist for my nutrition talk on this topic) so it needs to be balanced by vegetables ๐ฅ
How about the oxalates in green leafy vegetables and other foods rich in calcium ?
If you properly cook them (eg: blanch kale), antinutrients like oxalates are removed or reduced ๐๐

Insulin resistance means the body's tissues are resistant to the effects of insulin. The body therefore has to produce extra insulin to compensate. High levels of insulin causes the ovaries to produce too much testosterone, which interferes with the development of the follicles (the sacs in the ovaries where eggs develop) and prevents normal ovulation. @@sueyyusuf4061 Absolutely! And they can be high in specific places, like the ovaries, but not elsewhere, like in the blood. So it can be confusing when the blood work is normal, however we do know from research that this happens and need to do the lifestyle work to influence the hormonal balance in a positive direction. Hi! Iโm not sure about kefir, that wasnโt in the acid-base tables available, and same with non fermented kombucha! Which I think would just be juice if not fermented?
Kombucha is fermented black tea (with a scoby). The fizziness occurs on a second fermentation.

I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hyper mobility). These strength training exercises could severely injure me .
With that condition one would need experts therapist supervision to create appropriate modifications - EDS still benefits from exercise within a specific range of motion ๐๐

There is so much value in this video. Being an Asian living in Southeast Asia, I love my soy milk, endamame, miso and tofu. However, I've not heard of anyone in my circle of family and friends ever fermenting soy beans before making soy milk. At most, it's just fermenting it to make miso or natto. At most, it's soaking overnight. So, if I listened correctly, it's best to ferment the beans in water overnight, next day drain the water before blending, right? This is to release the isoflavones. What do we use to ferment the soy beans - is it using the S. Boulardii that you talked about? Do we need to take it a step further to drain the fermented water and then sprout it so that the concentration of carb/sugar is reduced so that when we drink the soy milk, it won't spike our blood sugar/insulin? Youโre so welcome! It may be enough to just soak overnight to start the germination process. If one is drinking large amounts, then learning how to ferment could be additionally helpful. Thereโs a specific strain for fermenting soy - youโd have to find out which one and who is selling it. Sprouting has its own benefits and could be done occasionally to add nutrient density. I know only of the strain to ferment soy beans into natto, i don't think that is the right ferment for making soy milk. i can imagine goey soy beans being blended into milk! I do have kefir whey though, someone told me before it can be used to ferment nuts but not sure if it can work for soy beans. But yes, i will definitely like to sprout my soy beans from now onwards. Watched this again to fully understand. My doctor gave me estradiol valerate and I kept asking him if it is bioidentical. His response is : it is natural. Sigh. So far, every video i've watched about HRT mentions estradiol and nothing of estradiol valerate. Am wondering if this is not 100% estradiol. Hope to hear your reply, thank you.
Hi! It can be confusing for sure. Because estradiol valerate is a prodrug of estradiol, it is considered to be a natural and bioidentical form of estrogen. It wouldnโt be my favourite kind as usually either given by mouth or injected once per week or every 4 weeks. My doctor just gives me oral because he said i have been on oral birth control close to 20 years and the risk of clotting is higher with it.
