    Kristie, your recipes are the most amazing! I make your basil Parmesan salmon dish weekly and gave all of my friends the recipe. I just ran down to put together four of these overnight oats in the fridge for the week. I really don’t know how to express my gratitude to you! Also, you look absolutely fabulous! I hope you had a very happy Valentine’s Day! 💕

      Awww...thanks so much, Dena!! I'll take credit for my oats! :) But the basil parmesan salmon I can't take credit for. That one is actually a Skinnytaste recipe that I just tweaked to make the points a little lower for a bigger portion! :) Thank you so much for your kind words! Hope you had a happy Valentine's as well! :)

      Planning Us Healthy , I think you’re modest! In my house, the salmon is referred to as Kristie’s Salmon. But I respect that you gave credit to the original recipe. We love your version! Oh, and these birthday cake overnight oats are incredible! Interestingly, this is my DH’s birthday week so he loved the treat. Guess he won’t want a cake tomorrow night, right? Thanks, again, Kristie!

      Girl, yes!! I throw all my veggie scraps, everything. When i make a rotisserie chicken, I throw the whole carcass in there!! When I was doing a meal prep recently, I was throwing away the ends to my asparagus and someone commented that I should save them to make broth - never thought of saving those!! Alot of these channels fail to realize ppl are on budgets. Some of us have larger families amd cant afford to do prime rib for a family of 8. Or rib eyes for a family of 8. Ty for keeping it real. Thank you so much, Misty!! I appreciate your kind comments! I just really want people to see that it doesn't have to cost a ton of money to lose weight and eat fairly healthy. Don't get me wrong, I'll make a prime rib once in a great while, but it's definitely never going to be the norm for me. I just did a huge $500 Sam's Club haul, which sounds like a lot of money, but I only go every three months and save up for it each time, which only comes out to about $41 a week. Thanks again!! :)

    I'm inspired by your work! Your recipes on the website are so well laid out! I'm trying to get on the band wagon, I like to eat healthy, but being in sales, it's often hard to find healthy meals on the road everyday. Meal preps, especially for lunch I think are the ticket for me. Do you find the overnight oats have decent consistency throughout the week? I'm wondering if it's easier to make a few days worth all at once, or only make what will be consumed the next day.

    • @PlanningUsHealthy
      @PlanningUsHealthy  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you so much! Yes, being out on the road would be very hard on me, for sure! Honestly, the overnight oats I find are the ones that keep the longest. For eggs and pancake bakes, I don't like to do those more than three days, but the overnight oats usually keep a good four days or more in the mason jar. I haven't noticed a difference. But it's probably preference. I would say maybe start by making a couple and then if you feel those are good, add another, etc.

    You can put the pretzels on the scale and 0 it out. Then pull from the bag until you get -28. I might be easier. Thinking about trying the overnight oats. I am not the biggest oat fan though. I also don’t have chia seeds. Where do you find them and what all do you use them for?

    • @PlanningUsHealthy
      @PlanningUsHealthy  5 років тому

      You know, I always think about that - with putting the bag on the scale first. Then I just get talking and go back to my habit way of doing it. LOL You watch me! One of these days I'm just going to do it that way! Haha The chia seeds I just get at Walmart. Honestly, those aren't necessary to make the oats though. That's actually the only thing I use them in. Thanks Debra! I don't think they get stale, but honestly, you could just portion them out in the bags and then just grab a cheese wedge when you want to. It's not like me doing that with the cheese saves a lot of time. LOL But yes, they are sooo good together!!

      Jean, to measure it will be different each time. So, what I do is just take the whole amount and weigh it out and then divide it by however many portions you'll be using. The weight will come out different each time, depending on if something more or less was used or if there was evaporation during the cooking process. Hope that made sense.

    I really need to start doing more mela prep on the weekends! You inspire me to try it! Even if I do my overnight oats early it would be a blessing...right now I make them each night for the next day. But with making dinner and time in the kitchen I literally finish eating and cleaning up and have maybe a half hour before I go to bed!

      Ohhh, yes, if it's overnight oats you're making ahead, those are sooo easy to just make multiple ones when you're doing one. I love how easy oats are to throw together!

    how do those berries last so long? if I wash berries they only last a day..I store them in glass with paper towels. ..

      @PlanningUsHealthy  5 років тому

      Honestly, it depends on the berries and how fresh they are or where I buy them. It is hit or miss with them. Last week the berries stayed the entire week - they were great. This week, they were getting mushy by the third day day. Still edible, but definitely not how I prefer them!
