    Thanks for your honest review, I was thinking of buying it, however my previous is the GT Air II so there are no differences. Also, one thing I´m not sure about is why this is only with that kind of close system, why they don´t use the Double ring, it´s a Sports touring helmet? Probably I´m going to check that site and see another option with the HJC RPHA 71. Once again thanks.

      I believe I remember seeing someone install double d rings they bought separate on a previous model so it should be possible on them all but I don't have experience and I don't want to lie to you. So, it may be possible to get what you want but would take some money and a little time. Also, comments make a huge difference for me so THANK YOU!

      Hi, I'm from Spain. In my country there is the possibility of buying the new helmet in a physical store or online and paying €100 to have it sent to France and they will put a double D closure and send it back to Spain. Apparently France is where shoei has a factory or where they make this type of changes where they guarantee safety and compliance with all safety regulations. Sorry if it's late to tell you this, you probably already bought the helmet. I don't know if you can do this in the US.

    I have the GT-AIR 2 and I'm not happy with the wind noise even with the chin curtain installed. I noticed the visor on the GT AIR 2 does not fully seat on to the gasket seal when closed no matter how much I adjusted the alignment. My question is does the GT-AIR 3's visor seal against the gasket when fully closed?

    • @admireinspire

      I'm looking now and it looks like a seal all the way around. Have you checked at thw store to see if all the gt air 2 have the imperfect seal like yours? Might just need a new visor.

    I have the version 1 of the GT-Air too and what is your opinion about upgrading to version 3? Is it really worth it? The version 3 doesn't look as nimble as the version 1 in your video when you look from the front. Is it the case or are these helmets different sizes?

    • @admireinspire
      @admireinspire  11 місяців тому +1

      Ya its a wider helmet for sure I'm having a hard time differentiating if its truly better or if mine was just old and worn enough inside to trick me into liking this one lol I also think they did some cool stuff with that extra width turning it into aerodynamic pieces. I may try them back to back tomorrow and report back. I'd say if you helmet works and you're happy the money probably isn't worth it unless you have more reasons contributing to you needing to make the switch.

    • @majormassenspektrometer
      @majormassenspektrometer 11 місяців тому

      @@admireinspire Thanks for your honesty. A back to back comparison would be great. I don't really need to switch, because I bought the GT-Air 1 just last year and it only has a year of use on it obviously so no real need to switch. I would have to pay 749€ for the one I would buy but that seems really excessive... If the new one doesn't offer a great bit of advantage, I guess the 749€ are wasted. The only reason I thought to switch was because I wanted to buy the new Cardo Packtalk Edge and it has 40mm headphones. The GT-Air 1 can't accommodate such big speakers, the cut outs are too small. For the Sena SMH5 which I have installed currently has smaller speakers which I needed to buy extra. I couldn't find smaller speakers for the Cardo.

    Nice Vasyn Supply shirt. I have been thinking about upgrading my 5 year old LS2 Rapid to the GT Air 3 but I like to try on a helmet before buying it which has been tricky since I haven't seen one in the US yet. Do you know if the sizing is similar to my LS2 and is it worth the over $500 price tag? Also if you have an affiliate link let me know, if I end up buying the helmet, would love if you got the credit for the sale.

    • @admireinspire
      @admireinspire  11 місяців тому +1

      Thanks he just did a random bag of shirts from vasyn yesterday for 50 bucks if I get more than 2 it'll feel like it was worth it lol. The variant looks really nice I've never worn one. I'd say the gt 3 is sized pretty true to all the shoei I've ever worn. I wore a L on the gt air 1 and I still wear an L on the current one. Worth it is subjective I'd say go to the store and try on any shoei and see if it feels worth it to you. At the end of the day I have some loyalty to the brand that I've used for like 7 years but that's kind of my bias more than anything. No link currently if amazon ever listed them I could make one but like you said no dice yet.

    My take on Flip-up helmets like the Neotec is that
    1) It isn't as safe (Sharp give Neotec 3 a 93% latch success rate, and only a yellow score on the sides)
    2) I wear earplugs, so in most situations I'd have to take the helmet off anyways, and
    3) I'm afraid that my long beard will get in the way of opening it, as some people have reported
    4) With a quick lock strap, there's less of a need for modular
    But for instructors and police officers, a modular helmet would be great

      I bought the helmet and it fits well but the chin curtain kept coming out on one side when I remove the helmet so I wrapped some rubber around that side and wedged it in. It's solid as a rock now. I also bought the srl3 which is good but found the speakers weren't close enough to my ears so volume was slightly lacking, I've unclipped mine and put spacers in to get the speakers closer to my ears and its night and day the sound quality. I have a cardo on my other helmet and the volume is so much better when using high volume mode. The sena audio boost is shite and ruins the music sound so I don't use it.

    Been riding for 50 years and long ago stopped using the vents on any of the full faced helmets I've ever owned (Arai, HJC and Shark) because regardless of whether they are open or closed the vents don't seem to make any difference to air flow - whatsoever - totally ineffectual. To adjust the airflow I instead simply adjust the screen.
    For me the biggest factor by far is noise and, unfortunately, because you can't try a helmet before buying, it's always a lottery - and one that can prove very costly.
    My two year old HJC, which felt really comfortable when I tried it on in the shop, and which has an excellent drop down sun visor, has unfortunately proved to be soooo incredibly noisy whilst riding that I've finally given up and stopped using it because I'm fed up with having to insert and remove the custom built (moulded) ear plugs I needed to have made every time I get on and off my Honda VB 500X - in order to make the riding experience less painful ... and have reverted to wearing my much quieter and super comfy 12 year old Arai Vector with preferable D ring (despite the absence of a drop down visor - which Arai never make) - while I deliberate over what the heck I'll buy. I've actually read two reviews (one French and one Australian) who reckon that this Arai GT Air 3 is extremely noisy!
    Given the significant cost involved in buying a new helmet it's always a rather frightening exercise because you can end up with a total dud - as I've found out with the HJC. Ironically, a much older HJC I own (about 20 years old) was much quieter than this newer model.
    In conclusion, buying a motorcycle helmet is akin to a lucky (or unlucky) dip. 🦘
