Sarah had the wrong information. I feel sorry for Sarah. Telling someone who is pre-diabetic not to eat sugar as a solution to insulin resistance, is like telling someone to not look at light due to some eye problem, or telling someone with a broken leg to just sit down. All cases assert avoidance as the solution. In the common case, diabetes is due to a diet high in animal fats leading to a symptom of high blood sugar. Sugar is not the cause of the problem, rather it's the fatty metabolites blocking insulin receptors means cells lose the ability to accept sugar from the blood.
