Dr Taylor, I agree. Cellphones are a pain. Since mine died I have not replaced it. I'm free and I love it. More people need to learn that a cell phone is a tool for your life, not a tool of your life.
Hello, I will try this in english: Two birds look at a cornfield and the younger one asks : Is that a human being or a scarecrow? The quick answer: "A scarecrow of course!" The small bird asks again: How you can be so sure about it?" - It is easy", says the older bird, " he is not looking at a cellphone. " Thank you very much for opening our eyes, also wenn it hurts.
Oh so much this!!! I also loathe cellphones and I use mine sparingly. My husband, on the other hand, is GLUED to his. Like all day, all night, all the time. I have spoken to him about this several times, but it’s in one ear and out the other. I despair sometimes, really. Makes me so sad… Anyway, I am happy to see that I am not the only one who finds them harmful. You will see me as the only woman having a cup of coffee watching the world go by whilst everyone is glued to a piece of metal as if they were children needing constant entertaining. Oh well…
My mother passed away from osteoporosis and alzheimer's disease. As did my sister last year. I have osteoporosis. I live in absolute fear of alzheimers. Thank you for this video.
Please don't hesitate to schedule a consultation if you want to be sure to do all you can to avoid these terrible diseases. I'm so sorry about your mom and sister.
@@MenopauseTaylor Thank You! I have been learning more about my health issues from your videos than I have from my doctors over the last 20 years. I wish you abundant blessings!
Dr Taylor, I just watched your awesome conversation with Dominique Sachse and commented there. I absolutely agree with everything you said in this video about needing to focus and avoid distractions. Our generation is somewhat better at focusing because that's how we did things growing up. Fortunately we didn't grow up with cell phones constantly in our hands, or with television and internet constantly bombarding us with useless and unwanted information. We actually memorized things, calculated in our heads, interacted with people in person as opposed to online, in text, etc. Thank you so much for this information connecting the distractions and Alzheimers.
Enjoyed this very much. The older I get, the less I multi task. It causes me anxiety and I do not multi task well at all. I am not sure I ever did but I use to think I multi tasked well when I was younger. Lol. You are important. A cell phone does not make someone important. I think people are distracted by them....
Distractions are very real. They hit you harder and harder. It's a matter of picking up what you can and ignoring the rest. Smart phones are a distraction, thankfully my phone doesn't ring often and I use it for SiriusXM. I need the distraction of music to help me not go insane. My friend circle is small so I don't worry about texts. I could leave my phone at home and not worry. I've got an old deactivated phone at work that I can use work wifi to listen to music. Sadly, my most valued and loved distraction at home was humanely put down after more than 17 years of healthy distraction. I didn't feel up to watching this video on Tuesday when it came out
Barbie, I am right with you on cell phones. I have a tracfone and only turn it on when I travel. It is amazing to see someone walking in the sidewalk looking at their phone, running into a light pole, falling backwards and dropping their phone, getting up, putting their phone back in front of their face and walking on. I do not text and refuse to. I go a step further with emails from friends…if they forward something I did not request, I ask them to not do that. I see people choosing their cell phones, to focus on, rather than the person/people they are with. No unwanted distractions for me, thank you.
I am with you 100% on modern distractions. If I don’t focus on one thing at a time, things are not done right. Our schools fail to teach this generation to focus. I am struggling with my 18year old who constantly has his phone in his hands. Brain diseases will skyrocket soon. On a different note, Your blouse is beautiful, like you.
Thank You for this. As a 55 year old women that teaches natural beauty and aging ( wabi Sabi embracing the imperfections of life and ourselves and aging a beautiful gift) I love this subject. So many clients come to me struggling with menopause and having to worry about Alzheimer’s and other aging Issues is overwhelming at times. Love you guide us. Blessing doctor and everyone 🙌🏻🍑🧡Lisa
Dear Barbie, Thank you for always making me laugh whilst I am learning from you! I know you were only joking when you said that you are ‘not important any more’ 😆 but I’d just like to say that you are SO VERY important to me! Every day since I discovered your utube channelI work hard in order to live by the valuable lessons that I learn from youSending you love and warmest wishes X💕
I turned off sounds and reminders as soon as I got my first phone. I leave it in another room and only check it out when I want to. I prefer messages than phone calls, because it takes me less time to read and answer them message tan call. And I just hate talking on the phone overall. The biggest distraction is my son, he needs something every 5 minutes. I cannot when he's at home.
Just practice writing to thisVideo as well. Very very well done Dr. Barb. Thank you. My husband also has said that multitasking is very damaging and not beneficial. You shouldn’t be doing it and you just verified it as well. Thank you so much. Love you

Ouch!!) you are the best teacher! I would have to say… you are very very important! To all of us!! Thank you! So so much!!!🙏👍❤️😃
I don't do multitasking and I hate cellphones (although I have one only for emergencies) but I think this has to do with my age. Younger people are more obsessed with their phones. I m not able to focus on many things at the same time and I'm glad to hear that is OK.
Thank you so much for reminding us to use our brains instead of our phones. Speaking of distrations-your arms look amazing!! Can you tell us what excercises you do and how often? Thank you in advance.
Thank you, my dear. As for my arms, I've provided a variety of exercise videos in this education. You really need to start with video 1 and watch them all in order if you don't want to sabotage your menopause education. But, I must confess: My arms are abnormally long ... like an ape. This means I am, quite literally, anatomically incorrect.
Very very good. To me this belongs with millennials and younger. When I was so involved with the phone it was rotary dial & at home my parents had gotten this little box that recorded every incoming call with actual buttons to scroll through the numbers so I could see if that special
Thank you Dr. Taylor👏🏻❤️💕🥰….. forgive me if you’ve covered this but have you considered doing a video on using free weights? Your arms are so strong and sculpted! 🥰🥰🥰 Ps you ARE still important; your UA-cam clients appreciate your teachings!
Thank you, my dear. I've published a variety of videos showing you my various workout. They are sprinkled throughout the education in conjunction with different topics.
I also wonder about distraction and lack of focus originating from within our minds/brains. I mean the default mode of the autopilot “daze”. Getting dragged along by the same old, never ending, mostly unproductive thoughts and worries that get auto-created by our brains! I remember reading that learning and cultivating mindfulness - paying attention, on purpose, in each moment, is beneficial for brain health! 😃 Much easier said than done, of course. 😄
Great video if I can watch the whole thing without distractions. "Please don't text me right now sweetheart." I agree so annoying. My phone is usually turned OFF. It's nice.
Dear dr Taylor. Thank you for another great video. What do you think of mindfulness and meditation? I discovered it recently and it really trained the brain to focus. I realised I hated multitasking, eliminated lots of screen time and really started to focus on a task at hand. Result: more calm, better sleep and better results at work. Thank you again!

You are absolutely correct about Alzheimer's. Currently, the incidence is 1 in 6 people. By 2030k it will be 1 in 3 ... all because of technology.
