Emerging from the Meno fog, I’ve been watching (binging) on your channel, educating myself. I’m now up to #263, in order, yes (except for this present one, I confess). Now, I know exactly how I want my menopause and will be well prepared when I meet my health provider next month. Merci beaucoup professeur Taylor.

Barbie: How could a mere thank you be enough?? Thank you to someone who showed you the way to feeling yourself again. You made me dig and discover and I finally got to a great place in my menopause journey. I wish you a hundred healthy and happy lifetimes to share your important lessons. It's a disgrace that women have to be misinformed and told to grin and bear it. There is a way for each of us to feel ourselves again. Find your way, listen to Barbie. She will show you the way that is best for you. I found Barbie after 7 years of struggling. Ahhh the lucky ladies who find her in the beginning of their menopause journey. Barbie is not only beautiful on the outside but her stunning brain is a work of art. Thank you is not enough but humbly I thank you. -Ida xoxo

From one extremely introverted person to another, you don’t sound at all boring. You sound refreshing. I’ve been vegan for about fifteen years. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. After many years struggling with Anorexia, I now eat an abundance of healthy, whole foods. The health benefits are an added benefit, but weren’t a driving force. I just needed to discover what works best for me. Thank you for sharing with us. You’re a life saver!

You are far from boring Dr Taylor. Thank you for sharing with us. Herd mentality in the fitness world is an issue. People follow things without trying to figure out what works for them.
I tried eating mostly plant based about 9 years. Still had animal products like butter cheese, Greek yogurt and I felt great. After a year or so I got deathly sick. Gut issues, the whole nine yards. Intermittent fasting tanked my metabolism. Keto did as well.
Now finally at the age of 53, I eat 3 balanced meals that contain carbs, fat, and protein. I feel fantastic along with my HRT. I want to be healthy, have a strong body, dense bones, and to be able to think. These are my old lady body goals.
I am no longer trying to look like I did in my 20's or 30's. I am trying to embrace this post menopausal body and to keep it healthy, strong, flexible and balanced.

I always say that you should do ONE thing and do it the BEST you can! In your case, it's MENOPAUSE! I guess you call it specializing in something, but to be PASSIONATE about that ONE thing, is DIFFERENT than just "specializing" in it. When you hear someone speak about their passion, it's completely awesome and different that listening to an "expert" who has no oomph, no pep in their talk...Lol.
I too am an introvert, and I completely get the work vs. social energies...
I think women ask so many questions, because we just want to "connect" with the person behind the screen, we want to get to know some degree of personal life info to better relate and understand the person as a human being, not just someone giving us some awesome information! Lol

Hello Dr Barbie!! It's been a couple of years since I've been on here watching all your videos in order then & of course sharing. My most important share was to my daughter & teen granddaughter. All my other grown grandchildren are males. Your book, books as reprinted are fabulous and I do hope everyone who watches avails themselves to what you offer; a lifetime of good health. I wish we'd met (online) years ago before I went through menopause or could avail of appropriate hormonal treatment. However It's never too late to improve our eating & exercise. I enjoyed this q & a and am happy to hear you're in France. Many of all the questions women ask you are really answered throughout your videos. I do hope they're able to start at beginning and move forward but your book really outlines it perfectly. Best wishes this summer from the smoky mountains. 💕

Hi Barbie, I can't wait to see your upcoming videos, having watched all in order. It's been a tremendous eye-opener as I am one having been caught off-guard and thrown down the anti-estrogen black hole since the early 2000s. But due to your fascinating educational videos, I am seeing the light- MY light! You have a way that ENlightens in the true sense of the word. We can make our own choices based on the facts you've reasearched and presented in an easy to understand format - which I am sure takes a lot of time to prepare! Refreshing! I recently purchased your book, second edition....and I'm wondering, as I live a predominant German-speaking part of Europe, if you're planning on having your book translated? I believe it could be invaluable to the gynecology faculties in our German, Swiss and Austrian universities ...in addition to the public! Herzliche Grüsse aus der schönen Schweiz🇨🇭

      Hallo! 😊
I have been trying to find out about the status of menopause education among women and healthcare providers in Germany, specifically, and it seems like they’re still very much in the “dark ages”. (Not that things are great in the U.S. by the way. I live in the U.S.) The website of the Deutsche Menopause Gesellschaft is extremely sparse. I have asked about evidence based information sources for women, online or other, and haven’t found much at all!
There is a book by a German gynecologist who seems to be in Dr Taylor’s “camp”, but I haven’t read it yet, just have listened to podcasts with her. Dr med Sheila de Liz and the book is called “Woman on Fire - Alles über die fabelhaften Wechseljahre“ … (wobei meine Wechseljahre alles andere als „fabelhaft“ waren!) 😁
From what I’ve gathered, the information is out there - mainly among interested scientists and doctors in the field of women’s health and menopause, but the problem is that the knowledge doesn’t make it into universities for some reason. It doesn’t get taught, from what I can tell. It is very frustrating.
Have you been following what is going on in the U.K., by the way? There’s a great movement right now to turn things around for women. It’s exciting!
I hope the German speaking countries will “catch on”!
      Alles Gute! 😊

@@cm1906 Menopause is THE most neglected topic on Earth ... by women, by medical professionals, and by society. There is no education on menopause in medical school. Four-year Ob/Gyn residencies devote only 1% of the four years to menopause. It's horrible!

@@cm1906 Hi 👋 Guten Abend! I'm experiencing like you that the websites of Menopause Associations in Germany are indeed sparse on content and the number of gynacologists offering specific solutions there in the website for peri- and menopausal women is lower than their counterpart website in the U.K. But I think before we jump to a 'conclusion' we'd have to conduct a survey of to really discover what Gynacologists are actually doing with regard to their peri- and menopausal patients. How are they being taught in university about the women's health - particularly about menopause? How actively are they implementing menopause education, expectation-management in their peri-menopause patient base? Are they themselves even aware of the options and for whom the options are applicable? What do these doctors wind up prescribing? Just because the Association isn't as 'large' or seemingly 'well organized' online as that in the U.K. ... doesn't mean that in German, Swiss or Austrian medical programs and doctor's offices there isn't a growing awareness and more happening on the ground than seems to be. They may have other channels of information sharing. If you go on youtube and type in Menopause und Oestrogen und Hormone Ersatz Therapie, you can find some interviews and information videos from German, Swiss (Austrian?...still looking...) gynacologists who talk at length about Hormon-Ersatz-Therapie - even pointing to the botched results' conclusion of the infamous billion-dollar Women's Health Initiative research ... but as in the US, and as in my own country of Switzerland with its fantastic health care and health insurance coverage.... much more needs to be done. In my opinion.. it starts in the medical schools but doesn't end there. (I happen to have a very informed and willing gynacologist here who goes along with what I want. She seems to know a lot about the HET and doesn't blink an eye prescribing pharmaceutical grade oestrogen und progesterone ... I think she does it automatically if her peri- and menopausal patients complain)
What we need is a more PRO-active medical school and physician community in conjunction with fact-base awareness and information campaigns targeted to all women. But as you and I know, being German... our culture values authenticity and quality and longer planning time (we dislike sloppiness and hastiness) hence.... the uptake is a bit slower than evidenced in the Anglo-Saxon countries... but slow and steady has its value too.
I would love to have gynacologists like Dr Taylor teach an entire semester in a Swiss or German or Austrian university for the first year students to open their eyes to the ENTIRETY of women's complex but fascinating hormone experiences. It would be ground-breaking
