Gary Lee I feel like there should be an update. Like it’s been 23 years. That’s almost another quarter of a century. I know not much had changed but I’d love to hear his personal reflections on life. He’s lost Linda. He’s seen his kids grow up and do wonderful things. I want to know what his final thoughts are on what life is. As strange as it is to say a whole lot of people (including me god yes including me) feel a deep personal connection to the man. He knows this. So I think another book should come before we lose the man who played a part in so many lives. Long live Sir James Paul McCartney.
@@VanHouse_Productions know what it is like to loose those you love to cancer. it will change anyone. something tells me that if he ever had to quite singing and preforming in front of others that he would really age. some people learn what they REALLY LOVE early in life and Paul is one of those
Gary Lee it was a bit shit though. He wrote it at a time when he seemed to feel that he had to defend himself and set records straight on. A few things
I"m a Lennon guy but McCartney can play any instrument he wants (almost) he's THAT much of a savant. Love that he's being humble here but he's a modern day Mozart.
Paul says in the 60s the weather always felt like it was good, their first singles was in the charts during the coldest winter over the century, the winter of late 62 early 63 was lethal, ground was still frozen rock solid in early March 63. The Beatles broke through in the worse weather we'd ever had
i still carry my double bass on the roof.....its the image,man......nah,i just have a small car.but,i do carry it on the roof.had an accident once after a gig,and had to search for the bass in the bushes on the side of the road in the dark...good times
its mind blowing how all the british bands from the 60s and 70s were all influenced by american music and musicians. i still can't wrap my head around it. even more amazing is their wealth of knowledge of the blues, early rock n roll, and all the famous musicians.
The Beatles requested several Soul songs by various artists be played over the radio while in New York. I believe the Marvin Gaye number I did hear was Pride & Joy.
The amazing thing is these 2 guys are a hundred years old and have done God knows how many drugs. But look at them they have so much energy and life. I am a lot younger than these guys and I am lucky if I get out of bed in the morning..lol..
its amazing the veneration and AWE with which they all talk about Elvis and his band...in the Anthology show, the Beatles talk about when they actually got to MEET Elvis in 1965, after a year and a half of pleading with Brian Epstein to set up a meeting....Ringo tells how the Fab Four entered his mansion, and Elvis was on his couch playing his Fender electric bass along with records playing on his jukebox...the Beatles came over and sat down with him and just stared at him,,,Ringo says "We didn't know what to say....he was tall, he was slim, he was----ELVIS!" Finally, Elvis broke the ice by saying "If all you boys are gonna do is stare and gape at me, then ah'm goin' up ta bed." Everyone laughed, and then they all started talking.
Paul...what do you think about the Bill Black Combos recordings? I saw a picture from one of the Beatle concerts...Bill Black Combo drum set sitting off to the side of the stage ..were they a warm up act? Thanks Paul and Ronnie!!!
The average person has no clue how difficult it is to play bass, and sing at the same time. It's 100 times more difficult than singing and playing guitar.
@@sg-yq8pm From personal experience, it's much easier to sing and play guitar or drums or keyboards, than it is to sing and play bass. You're using 2 different sides of the brain, so it isn't nonsense.

Elvis didnt even write his songs, chuck berry, little richard, buddy holly are the pioneers, Elvis was overrated and didnt innovate anything musically, the Beatles just took it too another level, innovated rock changed it forever, Elvis just imitated what the blacks was already doing but couldn't get marketed cos of their skin tone
These guys know and appreciate the history probably more than most Americans.
Just stop with the nonstop criticisms of Americans. You’re just jealous man.
James Jamerson was a legend. Played on so many Motown classics.
I could listen to these two all day long.
Driving to the show now that’s rock n roll
wish Paul would write a book before he leaves this planet. what great stories
He wrote one, with Barry Miles called Many Years From Now- came out in '97

I'd love to just sit and listen to these two shoot the shit for hours.

Bill Black was also a pioneer in using a Fender electric bass by 1956.
Thank you so much !!!
Agree. Jamerson is the man
Love that Elvis road story!
he claims he doesn't know how to play standup bass. but he did well during a small concert at abbey road studios a few yrs back.

Why don't they play the songs they're speaking of. I'd give anything to hear Ronnie sing ANNA.

The marvin gaye song is hitch hike

I know ask Jermaine Jackson and Paul McCartney
Make that 1000 times

Depends what you're playing
I wonder if Paul did any restoration on that stand up bass or if he kept it just as it was?
The thing about those old instruments with the real deal provenance is, imho, no matter how famous you are, that old instrument is more famous than you are lol.
Which Motown song was it ?
0:12 POV you peaked in the 1960’s
what marvin gaye song are they talking about here?
I think he said Hitchhike.
Ronnie and Paul know that Elvis, Scotty and Bill are the Big Bang of Rock and Roll. And every one that came before and afterwards count for nothing.
Actually, Paul thinks higher of Buddy Holly because he wrote, produced, and played his own music.
There are many more on that list.
John Johnson : Do you honestly believe that The Beatles count for nothing???
Count for nothing??... the Beatles took it to whole new magical level that still can’t and hasn’t been surpassed!

Ronnie looks like he’s trying to mime what Paul is saying at 0:31 but not doing a very good job of it!☺️
Some kinda weirdo voodoo attempt. Check out when Prince Andrew does it to the reporters when he and mean announce engagement
Bill blacks family wants the bass back. It was not rotting in a born
Paul Mc Cartney has light coloured eyes??? the Paul of the early days had browny eyes. .............
Is the light
marypechu that's cause he's faul lol
McCartney has no voice left
she gave it to me as a present
