Once again, the info is presented to all level riders. Love the homework for practice that doesn't require a PhD. The explanations of how and why satisfy my analytical, adult mind. Perfect.
Love this exercise, going to try it on my 23yr old veteran who is unbalanced, hoping it will help us in the transitions and getting him more behind and correctly bending, not sure if it will be as relaxed as your horse but hopefully we may get there. Thank you for sharing
What a great video! Figure eights have been my favourite exercise because you can adjust them to every gait and throw in so many transitions, and this is like a figure eight but better! I'm very excited to try it out. Thank you for the video :)
Amelia, have you been talking to my trainer? My lesson last week was so similar, this exercise really made the change of direction much smoother in the serpentine.

My biggest question here, is did ever train up any of these horses from the gentling process & starting under saddle?? All of your horses are obviously well trained & already fairly advanced. It's a long way to here from the beginning stages of dressage. I don't suppose I'll ever get any of my horses to this stage. So much control involved! You're a joy to watch. Thankyou Amelia 🐴 💥 🙏
A lot of my current horses I purchased from Europe already started as young horses. But before that I spent many years starting hundreds of young horses on ranches. :)
Love this. I laughed when I saw this today cause I remembered mentioning to you that I did the snowman exercises all the time when I met you in Wellington and Joseph said " what the blank is snowman?!"
Thankyou so much, I'm doing my first intro C Dressage test on the 27th of November so a lot of the information you have given me already is helping so much...I'm so excited but very nervous at the same time...as long as I remember to breathe I'll be ok !!😂🐴🤗 x
Amelia I would love some explanation on your rein aids in these movements. Such as explaining if you are brining your right shoulder back and suppling with the other hand etc.
My Mare is very very very .... very fast ... She gets scared of anything, takes off , she does not have a small relaxing canter.... How to get such an animal to work towards snowman ... after a working trot she seems relaxed but after a while she again gets toooooo quick ... Have got a wrong mare ... or is there anything that I could do to get her calm down .... I thought to train her for show jumping .. but now i started to doubt .....A little help will save me ... Thanks

Brilliant I love this ❤️
Amelia I would love some explanation on your rein aids in these movements. Such as explaining if you are brining your right shoulder back and suppling with the other hand etc.
You always want to supple inside hand for the most part, keeping the outside rein supportive.
Good exercise!

Doing this on my next ride. We do a lot of flexibility exercises - Friesians need that 😉
