    In this video you are sitting the trot. Amelia, I find when I am posting the trot I come forward which I am assuming is driving my horse on to his forehand. Can you address this too?

    Beautiful horse and rider. I’m curious if one can still get the same frame and ride without a bridle/flash band and no spurs?

    Do you have any tips for a horse who has a very extended natural walk and trot, but coming into canter they're quite short and choppy, but when asked for a longer more extended canter they want to rush forwards

    When you come back to walk from trot, what are you doing with your seat/body? Is it the same when rising?

    • @AmeliaNewcombDressage
      @AmeliaNewcombDressage  8 місяців тому +1

      Great question! You want to first tighten your abs and upper thigh to half-halt, then use your outside rein if needed. It is the same posting or sitting trot. This video will help: amelianewcombdressage.com/dressage-training/how-to-half-halt-from-your-thighs-and-seat/

    You mentioned “foraging” and feet clunking together. I mistakenly thought that the clicking feet was the horse starting to track up-oops! What do you mean by foraging-first time I have heard this in relation to riding! Thank you

    • @AmeliaNewcombDressage
      @AmeliaNewcombDressage  5 місяців тому +1

      Foraging is when you hear the hind shoes hitting the front shoes. This is not tracking up. When the horse tracks up the front legs have already left the spot on the ground where the hind leg lands.

    Love the video thank you!
    do you have any tips for starting out medium trot with a horse that just canters. i try making him very engaged throughout beforehand but he just canters really collected then. 😂😅
    Also would Absolutely LOVE a video on how to stop a horse getting heavy when collecting and not coming soft. My horse is round and collecting fine he just is constantly heavy and pulling during the process, it is killing me!
    any tips appreciated!
    thank you

      @AmeliaNewcombDressage  8 місяців тому

      Great questions! It sounds like your horse just needs to develop the strength/suppleness to do the medium trot. It's definitely a process! This video will help: amelianewcombdressage.com/dressage-training/how-to-ride-the-medium-trot-lengthening-trot/
      And I hope you can make it to my Free Webinar on Pirouettes this weekend! I will be talking a lot about engagement and adjusting the canter! amelianewcombdressage.com/free-pirouette-webinar/
