Hi, I was wondering if u think I could use the missions platform as a hang on stand and just not use a saddle and I’m a kid so I don’t need much space
Certainly doable if you just want to stand
What about for your use? Which do you like better for the way you move around the tree?
Im going to do a video with all three on the tree. I have only used the artisan platform to date because of the simplicity of setup however messing around with these i definitely see the appeal to a full sized platform
I have both. Picked up the Tethrd months ago. Tried it on 4 different species/sizes of trees. Have video of strap moving while camming over platform. Analyzed the strap and cam buckle
. (additionally had a textile weave expert examine the strap). Buckle teeth engage with half the force of a LW or similar strap. Strap weave is in laymen's terms too tight causing reduced surface engagement. Emailed Greg and they shipped another strap. Same results. Swapped out with a LW strap. Locked down tight. Climbed with all gear in hunt mode. WITH mid/late season boots. Size 12 boots not conducive to moving much without having to be totally aware of where your feet are. (heels snagged on edges). Additionally platform surface is very smooth. Combine that with some moisture. eeekkkk. Decent first attempt for a lightweight unit.
Trophyline.....same trees..scenarios. Rock solid/comfortable. Give me the extra weight.
Apologies for rambling but it's YOUR $200,
The texture on the mission is great. I agree about the smooth finish on the tethrd.
I have pretty big feet. I feel like I'd like the extra foot room. Also the trophy line looks more finished and durable.
The Trophyline fit and finish is great. The extra space is nice as well
I like the smaller size
The compact nature of the OG Predator makes it the favorite of many.
I concur...might as well stay with a freakin traditional stand if ya gonna use the trophyline
Hoping the Mission solves some of the issues I had with the Predator.
What issues were you having with the predator?
@@BowhunterChroniclesPodcast main issue I had other than how long it took to receive was the noise from the platform. I applied bow wax as suggested but it didn’t last. Ended up selling it.
I haven’t noticed much noise from the mission. That being said I tend to stick to my top step platform more than the mission because I like the ease if setup.
I prefer the smaller platform...easy to pack...lighter and the extra area is not necessary in my opinion...you dont actually stand on it like a traditional stand...Im not trading twice the weight and bulk ...it defeats the idea of minimalist saddle hunting...if you have a problem with the predator being rock solid on the tree then you are installing it wrong...that think is ROCK solid...and no I dont work for Tethrd...lol
I agree on the size and weight however it is a very well made platform and a far cry from the bulk of a traditional treestand or climber. But if the mission was about 2/3 the size it would be a slam dunk.
Are you gonna compare them?I'm a minute in the video and it's all bs
