I once saw a 14 inning game against the Pirates; were at Jack Murphy Stadium until 2:30 AM !!! I had sooooo many cool stories to tell my Friends when I would come back to Louisiana!!!!!! The San Diego Chicken was the SHIT !!!!!! Padres sucked, yet I Loved Them !!!!!!
My original baseball memory was in 1950 going with my grandfather and my uncles to see the Philadelphia Athletics play when 5'6" Bobby Shantz was pitching and Eddy Joost was playing shortstop. Fast forward about 30 years later I find myself in a Chicago hotel elevator standing next to Charles Finley the owner of the Oakland A's with a young lady I presumed to be his daughter and we started talking and as I got off the elevator I said it was a pleasure to meet you and your daughter. He said "she is not my daughter you dolt!" I was at a loss for words.
And a happy 75th birthday (May 28) to Mr. Fogery (I still respect my elders- at least, some of them). My very first 1st concert, back when I was just a very young whippersnapper.
My Dad took me to see Mickey, Roger, Yogi, Yankee Stadium. you cant top that. Got Mickeys Autograph 20 yrs later believe me, at a club in Coral Gables. Thank You very much.

There is just something special about being at the ball park when baseball is played. I have been to Division 1 college football and pro football games; NBA games and they are good, but to be at a ball park where anything can happen at any time is just something else. Perhaps it is because my father took me and my brother to see our heroes at the time; Mickey Mantle, Sandy Koufax and others.

Thank you for mentioning Murph. He was was my favorite player ever and I finally got to meet him in Cleveland in 2018 at a card show. He is every bit the class act people always say he is. He needs to be in the Hall of Fame period. Not because I am biased but because he was and still is Hall of Fame worthy. The question is "Does the Hall of Fame deserve a guy like Murph"?
They played this song on Classic Rewind one day and remarked that he wrote this song after snarling and going nuts screaming at the TV over a baseball game and his team was playing poorly. I loved the song anyway, and love it more with the story.

Been a Red Sox fan ever since or before my first visit 20 or more years ago. Don't remember a dam thing, but my dad said I was four, at the T line I went underneath the turnstile and freaked everyone out by continuing on the T. Been at least once a year or every other year since. When I pass away and Fenway is still there I'm having someone bury me there so if they want to tear it down and move it someone will know and stop it. It's been there over a century and hope it's there for more over a century more.
