Q&A is another good way to connect with others through your reading and discussing the Qs. Let's us know we're not alone and that someone understands. I'm sure many are like me and have family and friends who question if it's really as bad as we say or act. But it is.
"If you know, you know" is correct. You really have to live through some things to understand and honestly I would question it had I not suffered through because it's not apparent on the outside.
    Take care.

I’m sad to see you in such a crash, the hope gained from the strides your system has allowed is no doubt feeling untethered right now.
The non linear aspect of the nervous system manifestations is maddening. That leash is like a bungy cord.
Sending you lots of love and extra strength of spirit to navigate this phase xx

I've been on a carnivore diet for about 3 months All the symptoms you describe come back in less than half an hour after I eat cookies or bread made out of wheat.
I wonder if your body is reacting to something you're allergic to.
I also suffer from fibromyalgia, diagnosed this year, have it since my early childhood but I also have problems with feeling lightheaded when I stand up too fast, still having trouble recovering for at least a day when I do strenuous work, feeling like the heart is having a hard time keeping up when I try to move faster.
I wonder if I also suffer from ME / CFS.
Whichever it may be it's such a struggle, I never knew why I could not stay employed for more than a month or so. Always tired and out of breath.
I'm better now since I've been on the carnivore diet and I'm really grateful but still...I can't get a job and people that get to know me or my family think I'm simply lazy when in reality it's a health issue. I even stopped trying to make friends because of how judgemental they get asking me to try harder. The irony! I'm just tired to deal with mean bastards and I accepted to take the lonely road in life.
Thank you for making these videos, it's helping me cope, not feeling as lonely and they're also very informative. God bless!

That's a good idea. Probably a quarterly q & a would make it so you don't have to repeat yourself but you can keep up with the latest in people's questions as your journey and progress unfolds. And then you'll have a playlist series that people can watch in order as well.

Sorry to hear you're down a bit. Just curious, when you went to the river, were you confident or worried? While my situation is different than yours, not as severe and probably related to thyroid/adrenal issues, maybe even my heart, I've noticed that if I let my mind get away from me, I can have symptoms exasperated. Not saying its all in your head, no way am I saying that, just saying that it can make it worse, kind of the reverse placebo. Its like the nervous system itself if stimulated, just takes its toll.
I wonder if you can pinpoint what it is in the bacon that is bothering you.. something they add when they process it maybe. Also, there is a guy on here who was carnivore, now he is mostly carnivore, but did add in some fruit like water melon and even some real honey, which he said balanced it out for him. However, he has no disease, so what works for him might not work for others.

    • @The_ME_Lion
      @The_ME_Lion  4 місяці тому +1

That’s a great question! I don’t remember, but I have actively been working on calming my mind and telling myself, “it’s ok” a lot to try and calm my nervous system.
As far as the bacon is concerned, it’s histamine. I struggle with foods high in histamine. Although, I’ve been able to tolerate some ground beef lately (I think) with the help of a supplement called HistDAO.
Are you referring to Paul Saladino? I love that guy! My body won’t allow those foods at this point, but I’m happy he can have so much variety and feel great!

    • @janetholmes
      @janetholmes 3 місяці тому

Might not have to go to that extreme. Most people are breathing from the upper part of their lungs, which exacerbates the sympathetic (fight/flight) response. Only when you're at rest will the body relax enough to diaphragmic breathe, which enables your parasympathetic. You can boost your blood O2 at home by swapping from chest breathing to belly breathing, if you have a finger HR/oximeter you can track the improvement.
The more time you spend in a deliberately relaxed state, the better your body will be able to absorb the nutrients you give it.
Might sound wacky too, but sleeping with your router off and phone out of the room too makes a big difference.
      All the best :)

Hi Courtney. I'm so sorry to see you have had another crash. Me too. I'm in another crash for three days now, but it's getting a little better today. It just makes me so sad to see you so listless in your video. We are again being punished by the monster as we seek to subdue him permanently. It's a roller coaster that we have to ride and persist until the ride is over and we are ourselves again. Hang in there is the good motto. I'm praying for you too and I thank you for your prayers. I hope you have recovered in five days from the depths of your latest crash and that your heart beat has slowed down and that you feel much better. I have some news about my condition. I made comments on a few you tube sites--Ken Berry, Anthony Chaffee, Shawn Baker, Kerry at homestead how, about that carnivore isn't working for me to heal from the lyme and the horrible body feelings that I endure most of the time. I got quite a few comments from viewers and there were two main ones. The first is: "eat more fat!" The second was to quit eating eggs for two or three weeks. I've quit the eggs for a week now and I experienced something. The itching in my scalp and back of the neck and my eye brows has markedly decreased. I'll be darned! I also experienced a massive increase in energy at the weekly music session with the guys a week ago on Friday. The energy level was high all last week end and although the energy was edgy, the fatigue was letting up. I played my drums every day through this last Wednesday and there was great energy welling up from someplace and I played hard. It makes me wonder if the energy stores in the body get blocked somehow and the blocked energy cause many problems with our health. So, with this new found energy, maybe because I quit eggs and was being affected by the histamines from the eggs in the past, that the energy was released because the toxins from pathogens in the body that fed on eggs was lessened. I heard someone on line talking about the histamines, and I remember you mentioning it too and that you only eat the yokes. To wrap it up, I was doing pretty good until this last Wednesday night when the monster returned from his little nap! All the horror came rushing back and I've had to lay low since Thursday. I'm getting a little better today. Pacing. Gotta remember that! I do hope you are feeling better now as we go along our carnivore journey together. I figure I'll stay on it for the rest of the year just in case I might be slowly healing. I wish you better and better days coming in the future as we hang in there as best we can. You are in my thoughts and prayers, and I thank you very much for your messages to me. --Michael

At the beginning of keto all kinds of „guests“ in your body (bacteria, parasites) starve to death. Unfortunately some also can get „keto adapted“ thus flare up, when the Immune System cannot take it.
My feeling ist that my Immunsystem got much stronger/I do not catch as many infections as I used to on carnivore. So far no more lyme flare ups.
. (Due to high dose vitamins I could handle them well before I went carnivore).
Now I do have an infection to my surprise (we had a sick houseguest for 2 weeks. I almost made it, but then got sick the last day of her stay…)
And unfortunately just fasting is NOT enough. I felt sicker and sicker (I guess it is a bacterial infection).
Because I do not want to take antibiotics. I started my „old tools“ - high dose iodine (it works as a natural antibiotic), clove oil and wormwood (just for gargling 1 drop each in water) and I am feeling better and better hoping to fully heal that way.
My energy was gone and I had full body pain due to the infection.
(other symptoms were subtle - just caughing during the night. The loss of energy/feeling weak was my strongest symptom).
Have you looked into parasites? They drain the resources constantly and many have them on board.

Iron overload turned out to be a huge issue for me. It caused all the same symptoms as ME/CFS, except that iron overload can also bronze the skin (mine didn't bronze). This was not on my radar at all. I've been carnivore or meat based for a long time and I think this explains why I've moved to a more general high protein diet. I need the iron binding of dairy and a few veggies. Check out iron overload information. This was out of left field for me and turned out to be a root cause in my situation. Carnivore alone could not and did not resolve my symptoms. It did reduce them in a cyclic manner. I needed supplements, periodic antibiotics, and ultimately it was a phlebotomy that improved my symptoms by 60-70%. We really have to be our own detectives. This is another one of those issues that is not studied much and poorly understood. Altitude and Northern European heritage can contribute to the issue, as can age, being male, and menopause. I had no idea. This info does not apply to everyone, obviously. If it does, you can quickly feel better. YMMV. Good luck all!

Carnivore did not improve my CFS one bit over ketovore or keto. Carnivores start acting about like vegans when I share my experience.

you may want to check out the "nutrition detective".. that's where I finally started to make some progress.. I've done carnivore, plants only, fruit only, fasting, etc.. the toxic bile theory that Dr Garrett Smith presents is worth checking out

And yes, can't handle heat well either. Autum is a relief.

    Hi Courtney,
Have you ever heard of brain retraining or limbic restoration?
If not, perhaps you could look into it.
Lots of testimonials about it helping with CFS, POTS, anxiety, chemical/light/ food sensitivity etc.
A few resources are: Primal Trust, DNRS, Brea Katrin (a Christian based program)
Another program, the Integrated Health Foundation is a comprehensive program that deals with dysautonomia.
Hope this helps you or someone else out there. God bless!

It’s not what happens in life… it’s how we respond to it… life if 90% what happens and 10% how we respond….
Maybe it’s how you are responding you need to look at.. IMHO. I give Thanks 🙏 for everything… I never have a bad day.

Toxic positivity is poisoning self-help word salad that has never helped anyone, ever. Furthermore, it's cruel and unnecessary. If you must talk like a narcissistic life-coach, please don't target people who're already suffering enough. Good grief.

Hi Courtney, how are you doing? Are you still in a crash? After doing much better for weeks I walked up a small hill today. Now it's midnight, total sleeplessness and heart pounding, feels like I am back to square one myself. Let's see how this develops.

Hey there! No, I am no longer in a crash. I’m just behind on getting a video out. I’m feeling quite well at the moment and trying to be active for small periods and rest, active and rest, rinse and repeat. Trying hard not to mess up this time around…haha! I hope you are feeling better by now. These are tough waters to navigate. Stay strong!
