In this video we go over the advantages and disadvantages of t'blades. Hopefully this video will highlight some of the key points you need to take into consideration before splashing your cash. This blades would not be recommended for everyone, before to take note of the key points to see if they may suit you. - Навчання та стиль
I've been using T-blades every week for the last 8 years playing rec ice hockey and I can completely recommend them. A lot of what's said about them isn't true; basically the advantage is you get a perfect grind every time, the steel is probably twice as hard (think razor blade Vs kitchen knife), and you can order a few in so you don't have to worry about skate shops being open. You do need to check the screws though and get some spare screws in for when they start.breaking after about 2 years.
had tblades back in the day on a pair of grafs. they were pretty good, never had one loosen up. and the blade holds an edge alot longer... yea the blades are more money than a sharpening and not every one sells them. but with the internet you find a good dealer and buy a few sets and always have a extra set ready togo. also the radius is consistent and you can mess around with different blades
Been skating for almost 30 years was thinking of Tblades for my next pair of skates, thanks for the info..
+3213089 We'll have new t'blade content coming soon, this is an extremely old video but I'm glad it helped.
Will keep an eye out for. It... Thinking I'm probably going to stick with a traditional blade for the moment and then get a pair of Tblades just for the sheer hell of it...
Hockey Tutorial any updates
@@HockeyTutorialOfficial when's the next video coming out about t blade?
I don't think I can agree with the some of the disadvantages with your video. One: I personally think that the cost of replacing the blades out weight sharpening. As with T-blades they can last about 20 or so ice times or at least that is what I have come to find out. Two: I personally found my balance improved with T-blades as opposed to the traditional blade. Sucks that they are becoming very hard to find now, an that not many NHLers use them. I have only seen Denis Sidenbourg of the Boston Bruins use them.
Hey Hockey Tutorials, I have Bauer X600's. I see a full system Tblade kit would work. Is it simple plug and play, or more to putting them on than that?
Can you tell me on average how long is a set of tblades expected to last before changing them out. I realise there are many factors involved. Our sons not a hockey player or a freestyler. He tends to just make loops of the rink with the odd hockey stop.
How to replace the t-blade at home please ? What do I need to do this ?
Thanks a lot
They look sick! A kid at my rink has them and thought it was the whole skate. Glad to see its just the runner
Hi I am an intermediate skater but plan to start skating more frequently recreationally, not competitive hockey. I have a slightly wider foot, something like 9.5-10e for dress shoes. I want a comfortable skate I can be on and not feel pain in my feet. I have been considering Bauer Supreme one70, bauer flexlite 3.0 or 4.0 and Easton Stealth, can you make some recommendations, whats the best all around skate in this under $200 dollars or around price range?
Very interesting
So Freestyle you should use T-Blades and NhL you should use Hockey Blades
i Personally Love the Grip of T-Blades its much much better then anything
t'blades are BACK! look out for our review on them coming soon @tblades
Hello I hope you reply :how to measure t blade runner for t blade skates guard what is M and L
Fantastic video.
Ive been wearing tblades since they came out and the noise of them is really not a problem at all because there so much noise during a game already, and a questine i have is have you ever used them?(thats not ment to sound rude im just asking)
Good description! 👍
What color looks better i have a pair already but i want another color because white is ugly but my has them with screws instead of rivets i wuld like mines like that to but where do i buy those screws
good one bud but they have been around that long. i remember a guy playing for ottawa 67's using them and he left ottawa in 2003. so at least 10 years old.
I love the sound of them ❤❤
What is better in speed and cornering than traditional blade or t blade?
Thats my biggest concern. Not just taking a hit, but what about frequent kicks? Rightly or wrongly i have a habit of catching the puck with my skate to kick it forward sometimes, dont want my skate flying off mid match as a result!
I have t blades for ice Freestyle and normal blades for ice Hockey
I have had Tblades on my Grafs for years. The holder does not use all those holes to mount. There are so many holes so that you can find the right ones that match the exisiting holes on your skates. You also have to be mindful and tighten the bolts or you will lose them it's true. I always kept the screwdriver in my bag and checked them everyweek.
The blades are expensive and very hard to find even in Canada. I've since moved onto MLX skates and let the Grafs sit.
Yeah I can definetly see the expense being in the UK, They are hard to find anywere really im in the US and can manage to find them for around 14$ a set.
like you said, in Germany its really easy to get t-blades, if I need some i just go to the local hockeyshop and buy them, i don't have to order some
They last a really lot longer then the normal blade, the time you have to change them you had sharpened the normal skate at least 5 time
Dennis Seidenberg (Boston Bruins) uses these in the NHL
What is the type of the t blade holder
Can't you take off the blade from the holder and change it from white to red?
dennis Seidenberg uses them in the nhl
1 guy lol
and he just switched to regular ones lol
Even when they are blunt they are still super sharp I started on normal blades and went to tblades also the blade last alot longer
whre in the uk can u buy them
Wow Chris that was really good. I live in Jakarta, and my son wants them. They "look cool", but the practicality of them,…especially during game play doesn't appear to be too good. When you say the blade lasts longer, how long before they need replacing?
Hockeymonkey is putting T blades on their Grafs. They also give the traditional hockey blade with the skate. Appears we'd have to order a few more T blade runners because of the inaccessibility . Since many Indonesians have "flat feet", many of the kids want to try the Grafs. (It's been rumored they are a good skate for people with flat feet.) What are your thoughts?
ccm`s and grafs are good for flat feet
in netherland, they dont have t-blades!! so bad for me. i need it now XD so where i can buy it??
T- blades are more for freestyle
I freestyle and Use the normal blades
I'm surprised they didn't add some 18650s to heat up regular blade
All those mounting holes on the holder are there so you can get them alligned better on your skate you dont have to fill every single hole cause it would completly ruin the concept of lightweight with 20 screws holding the holder to the skate
How often do u go Ally Pally
T-Blades have actually been around for longer than 8 years, I switched to them in my Junior season of high school hockey, this was in 2003, so if I am not mistaken, 2013-2003= 10 years.... I finally broke a holder 2 years ago, so that alone is 8 years of use. Curious as to how you are so misinformed...
I'm Doing Exactly That.
My friend
wow, sharpening is expensive in the UK
It's mostly $5 here in Canada so that's around half the price, I hope your sharpener does a good job if you pay him £10
For the record, T-blades go for around $20 a pair here. So i guess it depends just how long your edge lasts.
It depends on where you get them sharpened, The ice rink that i go to costs £5 to sharpen your skates but i dont know anywhere else to get them sharpened
Can you put a regular blade in a tblade holder
no
Sorry just to make it clear, in my experience T blades are incredibly durable. The only thing that's not durable are the 6 screws in each skate, that are fine for the first couple of years, but then you start to get the odd one break, presumably from fatigue. It's no big deal to replace them.
It's so many things a skilled sharpener can do with radius, rocker, and hollow. I can't see T-blade being able to offer that many profiles?
Not as many most likely but they do have a range of profiles and hollows
do they make Them for goalies
+Walter Babst take this L. Terrible attempt at trying to be funny.
Nick Harrison Are you a goalie too? Why? It's like studying medicine to be a proctologist, why?
+Walter Babst "who can't skate well". So goalies can't skate well, huh? Go out on the ice, if you can even skate, and try to recreate all the skating movements that goalies do. You probably couldn't even stop a 5 mph "shot" from a 2 year old. Shame on you for calling them scums, and especially for that language.
Take It To A shop (hockeyshop) The Rivits will have to be punched out and replaced.
My Local Ice Rink Does it.
This is the t-blade hodor
The T'blades edge sucks i lost my edge everytime I tried to get around a defensmen
That's pretty weird. T blades can cut so much harder. I actually had to lessen the radius on my tblades vs my vapors. 5/8 vs 1/2.
You sure you picked out the right profile and radius?
The T-blade in the beginning is not fitting for the silver Shown upper😂😂👍
lol ? je kan ze normaal overal kopen bv in belgie overal :) ik heb er net zelf t blades gekogt en bine paar dagen gaan ik er eerste keer me op ijs :) prijs is rond 150-300 euro :)
Chirped?
Teased mercilessly
Tblades are the best !!!
you can get you skates sharpened for free at your local ice hockey teams stadium ( offcourse you have to belong to the team.)
Surely it's impossible to turn or lean with such little amount of steel? Don't you just bottom out all the time?
Marco Fummo ya
Marco Fummo only your edges touch the ice, the rest of the blade doesn't make contact with the ice
Nice try, but T-blades haven't been around for 8 years.
🤔 wait a second
He's got an English accent... 🏃
T blades are not designed for players, who need to perfectly fit the blades themselves.
If you will want to change the radius of curvature of the blades or skates to move the center of gravity on the blades - T blades are not for you . Besides their appearance is a gull in my opinion.
So pretty much no one uses them utter trash. LOL.
Maybe look at when the video was posted 🙄
@@HockeyTutorialOfficial Yes I did
that's why I said what I said. No one uses these things because it's garbage. I just bought a pair of skates that comes with these Tblades and going to take them off.
my god, those t-blades are hideous.
Hideous and impractical
+Trevor Avery it was very popular in 2006-08 and theyre very good
Trevor Avery they're good for freestyling, not ice hockey
