I had a 2510 long ago and it was a bear in cold weather too, I would never turn it off. it would take sometimes up to 6 hours to come on. it actually stayed powered on for over 10 years at one point.
My 2510 never had problems in the cold... It always worked good in my truck. Only thing I could think of is that it took about 3 min for the display to darken up. That is a function of the LCD liquid. I think in later models they bought the displays from someone else. What happened to yours in the cold?
Thank you for your time! Trying to decide what to buy for a mobile 10 meter This video has made me feel much more comfortable with my wish to own one. I owned the original Lincoln for about 12 years . Made contacts all over the world , however as many know the processers do go out. I paid the money to have it repaired. Glad I did. sold it when I bought a Kenwood TS 2000. when I first saw the adds for the Lincoln 2 I just had to look into it. The dual finals combined with a clear signal is a plus when on ten meters. Don't like the "Loud and Proud " radios that bleed all over the bands and set of touch lamps & car alarms. So again Thank you for your detailed description!
I had a president HR2510 some years ago. Wish I still had it. Though one of these does seem tempting. It's good to see how things have changed over the years. Thanks!
You need better illumination when showing the rear panel and the inside circuit board. *VERY* dark. That said, I bought the 'plus' version of this radio in Dec 2017 and I have to say I am IMPRESSED. The audio this radio produces is absolutely superb. I've already made contacts on 10 & 12 meters and people couldn't believe the audio was so good on a radio of this type. The microphone looks a bit cheap but has it where it counts. I absolutely love using this radio!
Are the only differences between this and the II+ the fact that the II+ is 10 & 12 meter and to convert to 11m, no wire to cut. Just install a 1k resistor? Once the white wire is cut on the Lincoln II, which band will the cb channels be on?
Thank You very much for the tour throuch the device's features. Only one thing is not clear to me: it says "Roger beep's delay" - is this the setting for the time after release the TX button the roger beep sets in or is it the roger beep's length or duration? The latter makes "delay" sh misleading.
Once you clip the white wire, and open up all the channels, whats the best antenna to use. I will be putting this radio in a typical pickup truck. (2006 F150)

So these CB radios are really 10-meter ham radios that still transmit on 11-meter and have more RF power than legally is allowed out the box on 11-meter (10AM/30SSB)? Please explain.
It's not illegal to own or listen on the radio, it's only illegal if: (1) you transmit in a higher power setting on CB *or* (2) you transmit on the ham bands and you do not have the appropriate ham license... Of course, if it is a *true emergency*, all those regulations can be ignored...
Hi do you have any info on the president 2 aligment points location. My transmit meter seems to not work correct. When I key the Mic with audio on full power the meter does not show full scale.
I bought one recently. I have my FCC General Amateur license, so I figured that I could have access to 10m and 12m at full power and then turn it to lower power for 11m... So far, I have not been impressed with the unit or the company... They completely ignore emails sent to their tech support email address and no one answered the phone when I tried to call them... The SO-239 (UHF) connector on the back is mounted so that even if you tighten the antenna connector as tight as you can, it will still wobble and not get good connection, so the SO-239 connector is too short... My unit will not display the SWR and I have yet to hear anything other than static on any of the bands...
Can you share if the modification for frequency unlock changes the fine tune of this radio? It appears some are a bit unstable when "opened". Thank you...
You mentioned that there is repair mod for the receive ..... Where could I find this info. ? Can't find anything on Presidents web site ..... Thank you !
Just curious what you consider "Cold weather" in F degrees. Freezing, 0, -10, -30 are ALL things I've experienced in travels. Even at times we've seen cold enough here in the Midwest that some guy from England didn't even have a calculation availability on his stuff to register a low of -21 F that we were experiencing here at the time. That was in '13 though and that may not have been the Reg. in other countries too though. Thanx.
I just purchased this radio. Shipping should have it here in a week or so. Does this radio have talk back so you can hear your echo adjustments and that sort of thing. Also, is there any of the newer radios that have reverb control as well.
I am only assuming here since everyone is glossing over the fact the radio states it is a CB and has channel 19 & 9 so will it work on the standard 11 meter band or what the hell??? I plan on ordering this radio and using it as a CB part time and exploring HAM something I've never had before. The HAM radios have come down in price over the years so I would like to buy this radio I am getting older and I think this thing if I can use it as CB would be a blast to use it. BUT DOES IT WORK ON REGULAR CITIZENS BAND... I WANT TO USE IT WITH MY HYGRADE TWIN TRUCKERS ON MY TRUCK.

Some examples of DSB injected carrier radios are HR2510 and its related family as well as the Yaesu mobile HF rigs and my Icom 706 mark2.
