    Hal had given a proposal to iaf/navy to convert their existing 140+ hawk trainer into an armed version of hawk-i standard, iaf should seriously upgrading the existing 140 trainer aircraft into hawk-i standard.

    Very informative video, thanks for sharing. Regarding the development of HJT-36 Sitara, just wanted to share one information showcasing that HAL's inability in designing these kind of Jet trainers for better or worse. The design flaws you mentioned which was reported in 2017 (probably discovered even before that), couldn't be addressed by HAL without spending high amount of money and time and deemed as unsolvable. Hence a private Company, Bihrle Applied Research INC, specilized in Wing Tunnel Testing and Software based Simulation, model and design of both Military and Civil aircrafts were appointed as Consultant in 2019. This Company owns a Wind Tunnel facility in Germany and has advanced Super Computers designed for these kind of applications. They were the one providing the details of the Tailfin and tailplane modification to address the issue. This actually showcase that DRDO and HAL still lacks the modern computer based design and modeling practices which are getting adopted by most of the aircraft devloping companies rapidly. Dassult Rafale is one such example and Defence Matric has published multiple videos showing how China is also adopting these technoligies to fasten their development cycles and reducing the cost both in terms of money, man power and time.

    All are needed HTT-36 Hawk-i and HLFT-42. Also private aviator training institutes will become their customers soon with increase in size of civil aviation sector.
    Though * * * * * * * will greatly be inspired by a GAURA sitting in the cockpit and flying the prototype. Hope HAL learns those marketing skills.

    I feel IAF should go ahead with HLFT 42 instead of Hawk-i considering it's future export potential.
    No matter how many sub-systems we indigenise of Hawk-i in order to desify it, we can't offer Hawk-i as a platform for exports. Maximum we can offer is an upgrade to Hawk-I standards to those countries that are already operating Hawk & that can only be done if BAE agrees as it remains the OEM, so we need their approval.
    On the other hand if we have HLFT 42, being the OEM, HAL can not only offer it at competitive prices for LIFT category exports, but IAF can also look at it as a replacement for Advanced Jet Trainer in future & they would have a perfect indigenous option to fill that category.
    If IAF shows faith in HLFT 42, joins the program and places orders for it, it will be a big leap of faith for other countries and boost their confidence in our products since our IAF would be using it in big numbers.
    So I genuinely feel IAF should join the HLFT 42 project. Many technologies are readily available so chances of it getting delayed are less.

    HJT-36 doesnot makes any sense in this day and age. IAF wants to become modern airforce. Even IAF has stopped talking about IJT now.
    Most modern airforce have shifted from BTT, IJT & AJT to BTT, AJT & LIFT.
    The best HAL can do is try to export this aircraft to friendly nations

      @aashu dhankhar tejas mk 1 has only 24 operational units where mk1a order in process...mk2 first flight delayed till 2025.. AMCA is still in papers..instead of starting new programs HAL should work on no more delays of first flight make tejas more efficient that IAF place more order which automatically bring down the price of it...make tejas fly and proven then export will come automatically
