Training of pilots while very important is not super critical area for which IAF needs to look at foreign aircraft anymore. Another 2 or 3 yrs to get the Sitara, especially due to further optimization, is definitely not a reason for looking at foreign options. It's also probably why IAF is not looking elsewhere...becoz they know that now after the tail design optimization of the Sitara the aircraft is sound aerodynamically

Actually as far as l have information. IAF itself doesnot want a lJT (lntermediate Jet Trainer) since the past 10 years as it is an old training concept and no advanced country is following the BTT- lJT- AJT patern of training. Even if Sitara gets all Certification the lAF will not waste its llimited resorces on a lJT. So it is not a priority of either HAL or lAF. IAF wants to introduce the BTT- AJT- LlFT pattern of training for which they have HTT40/Pilatus - AJT BAE Hawk- LIFT Tejas Trainer model. So both HAL as well as IAF is moving accordingly.
Any project taken on coffee tables or lunch breaks faces such a resutl. No planning, over confidence about knowledge, lax behaviour and mostly people who are not patriotic, on the contrary , leftists, communists and disciples of the likes of kejriwal.
