It’s like watching a puppy and a cat interacting.
Ruby Age 24 if Brad is the puppy- must .....have.....that....puppy!!
I'm all about them answering these questions with peak confidence, when we've seen the mess they went through to come to these conclusions.
SCIENCE
I laughed so hard my mom is now concerned about my well being.
Not too stiff peaks though.
Peak confidence for sure! 😁
I'd love to see NCT members actually cook for thanksgiving instead of having it prepared by staff I think it would be as chaotic as Bon Appetit test kitchen version or maybe even more chaotic seriously. I've watched NCT life K food channel and I think it would be amazing
I wonder if when Chris was graduating highschool in 98, he thought he would be giving detailed talks about turkey in the world trade building, next to a teddy bear wearing camo.
Especially in this world trade center

brad: your turkey will be ripping hot for at least an hour
also brad: his turkey was too cold and it had to be put Back in the oven
They made a silly mistake that if they'd actually cared during recipe development they would have caught.
You cook a whole turkey to 140 -145 because it is 12+lbs. and when you take it out of the oven there's enough energy in it to get the entire bird up to 160. Cutting up the bird makes it cook faster but also means there is less energy in each piece so there is less carryover. You need to pull the pieces at 150 or so.
@@KenS1267 Thank you for this! I understood the logic of cooking cooked pieces to a high temp than a whole bird but I hadn't looked up how much higher.
@@xqueenfrostineThis is why I wish they had done the recipe development properly. A steak, which should be smaller than any piece of the turkey will rise about 5 degrees while resting. So the 3lb, roughly, pieces you'd be dealing with should rise at least 10. I'd look up a good recipe on cooking turkey pieces to see what they have to say just to be safe.
jordan pennell But his was cold because it was under-cooked, right? If it’s cooked to correct temp, then it’ll be ripping hot for an hour.
A cut up turkey will never be hot for an hour, it's the size of a large bird that keeps the heat. You break all the pieces and itll lose heat fast
Claire and Christina: brussel halving is not necessary
Brad and Chris: HALF THEM
Seriously. You have to halve them. The only time you leave them whole is if you're boiling them.
You halve to
@@djinnisequoia And the only time you should boil them is NEVER! The only reason brussels got such a bad rep is because people boiled them. if you want sad soggy little cabbages then go for it, but I'll be over here with my crispy flavor nuggets.

The person who doesn’t want to deal with pie crust should make a cobbler! They’re so easy and always a hit

apple crisp or an apple-pear crisp would be an easy solution to the pie problem
Plus there's more than one way to make a pie crust. If you don't like the method you've been using, try something else. You're almost bound to come across one that you like eventually.

Q: How many sticks of butter do you need?
A: Yes.
Last time we kept track, we used 4 lbs making Thanksgiving dinner.
How many? All of them. All the butters.
@@beth8775 really? Just 4 pounds? Our Thanksgiving we were feeding 14 people. We used 8 & 3/4 pounds most of which went into pie crusts. We only had enough leftovers for one more meal.

Chris was in a really upbeat mood the day they filmed this. I'm glad he was having a good time.
The most important thing with a deep-fried turkey is to make sure it's completely thawed. If there's any ice, it'll explode.
Ah yes, ice in boiling oil
I'd say that and making sure one has checked how much oil they need prior to actually deep-frying. A displacement test with water is probably ideal.
@@cthomas025 Definitely do a displacement of the thawed turkey. Every bird is different and you really don't want the oil to boil over. That's how you get fires and explosions.
If you want to see how to cook a deep fried turkey watch Alton Browns vodeo

“how are vegan mashed potatoes?”
“not good”
Add almond milk and coconut fat and it's delicious.
cool, more for us then! idgaf😂
They usually aren't made properly. The roasted potatoes is a great idea though.
NOT GOOD/10
I have to disagree, and I'm not vegan.
I quite like making mashers by cooking the spuds in really good veggie stock (homemade) and then adding EVOO while mashing. They don't taste like non vegan mashers but so what? They're crazy good.
Adding fake milks is just disgusting, and almond milk is phenomenally bad for the environment and no one should ever buy it.
I like how calm Chris is and Brad is energetic, both being informative at the same time. Good duo!
I didn't think I'd like them together, but I really, really do.
Chris: “Give it a Toss Toss.”
the most important answer given: we can finally estimate Chris' age
Okay so he graduated high school in 1998. That was 21 years ago. Most high schoolers graduate when they’re like, 17/18 so that makes him around 38/ 39 years old. Fun!
