Within 3D Scanning, dark objects are notoriously difficult to get accurate scans. Today, Rob will show you how to 3D scan dark objects using the EinScan HX from Shining3D. This blue laser based scanner has a leg up on most other scanners with the lasers giving it the capability of capturing reflective objects and dark objects as well.

The EinScan HX combines blue led and lasers, enabling a wider array of scannable objects, most notably the scanner has little to no issues when scanning dark or highly reflective objects which are notoriously difficult for pattern based 3D scanners like the Pro HD. The HX is highly accurate as well boasting a minimum point distance 0.05 mm and accuracy up to 0.04 mm under Laser Scan. Scanning is quick and efficient with up to 1,200,000 points/s, and multiple blue laser lines under Laser Scan Mode making scanning of most objects take only minutes for reverse engineering, CAD/CAM, 3D printing, etc. The design is compact and ergonomic, making it easily transportable with the included hard shell protection case. On top of all this the HX comes with a built-in color camera which means it supports full color texture capturing and tracking by texture.
Compared to other offerings on the market, like the Artec Leo, Creaform, Faro Arms, Artec Eva, Peel 3D, and other options, EinScan has been one of the best on the market for many years, and they're continuing that trent.

Pretty cool! I am excited to see that video you mentioned that goes over the CAD model generation workflow from here!

Good video; even better presentation [not as "hyped-up"/"overly-excited" as your other video (keep this) 🖒🖒🖒]

hi nice videos I have a hx I was wondering when you are going to do the reverse engineering one for geomatics essentials to solid I use fusion360 so be good to see that thanks Steve keep up the good work

can you scan a person using the HX? Can you do a comparison between that and using H2 scanner. Im sure the person would have to keep eyes closed for HX or both for comparison. I need the functions of both H2 and HX but can only purchase one. Rather have the Lasers of HX

Mobile markers are an interesting idea. They seams to be 3D printed ? Have you tried multi-face towers with makers ? I wonder if it could lower "lost track" instances while decreasing scan angle from top to 45 deg or even less ? Tks for all the very well done videos 😃

Tell me please, What do you mean under multi-face towers?

@@Engineerpsy Many possibilities could be tried. Personally, I would try three mobile markers link together as a base, and a fourth one rise about 6 inches up or even more. The goal would be to allow the scanner to catch markers while entering an open object (like a transmission casing) to get more data of over hang features.

@@guypayeur6712 Thank you very much for your explanation! May you show an example of the link to the picture? I really appreciate any help you can provide.

AESUB is used for the structured light scanners, whereas the HX picks up the dark colors super easily :)
