Oh, I know, isn't it amazing? Back then I was a kid, I saw this one time and I recalled it fairly well. I just find it amazing I recall 10 or 15 segments of a show I saw decades ago. I also recall when a big cat, maybe a bobcat or cougar took a swipe at Johnny. Another segment they were reviewing toys. They were trying to shoot baskets with one toy, they couldn't do it and Johnny shot that toy with a small cannon.
Just noticed that the trick didn't go exactly as planned. If you watch carefully, you catch Johnny putting the egg he picked up at 8:56 into the first glass he picks up (it happens at 9:45). All these years thinking that Dom pulled the trick off & it turns out that Johnny pulled a fast one.
yes, it went horribly wrong.. the whole interview went horribly wrong. Carson tried to take over the interview with his own humor and it didn't work. The reason he did it was that DD was not holding up the show.
When late night tv was actually entertaining. Great post thanks!
I remember watching this live!

Nobody ever has, or ever will, come close to Carson.

@@WintersWar Actually it was 4 out of 5. That's 80%. Still pretty good.

@michael Nivens - I teared up reading you simple tribute... thank you. :( I loved Dom
Yeah I loved these guys too. All three of them have gone on to glory
Now, for the full effect, watch the clip of when Burt Reynolds walked in after the commercial break.
This here is classic comedy at its best. Todays comedy is all political crap that is b.s.

murphynapoleon hmm ok i’ll check it out thanks
I wish I was young again......
