I could watch Dom cut grass. That guy was a national treasure. Clean comedy and everyone feels good. Very missed and to be honest we need more big hearted fellas like him around now more than ever.
Sounds like Dom Deluise is saying "Alluhvoyll" when he says Olive Oil. And that's one of many reasons we love, miss & need him. His voice was so loving and happy, it instantly made us feel better than whatever mood we were previously in. Dom, you rule.
I'm Lebanese. I see so many similarities between Lebanese cuisine and Italian cuisine that when he uses olive oil and garlic and lemon it just glads my heart. Dom is someone who died too young. Maybe at least another 10 years, before he saw the COVID pandemic but after he was able to at least comment on our state of affairs.
Ugh not even 2 mins in and I’m trying not to cry. Watching your father, who has passed, who my mother-also from Brooklyn, loved and has also passed away. December 2016. She would’ve loved this. Whenever I watch Fatso, I imagine her sitting and watching it with me. Cracking up to her fav scenes♥️ I miss her.
Mine too! I love to see the old neighborhoods, mom & pop shops, etc. I enjoy his cooking vids wit his Mom because they capture the essence of a humble time. Not sure but I believe Anne Bancroft created the film FATSO just for Dom. May they RIP....Rich Blessings to us ALL.
Dom DeLuise is a such a puppy dog of a man. I loved him in his live action roles and the characters he voice acted (all of them) and I have been wanting to get a hold of his recipes to cook and see what his skills in the kitchen were like.
Last week, Carol Arthur reunited with her beloved Dom after eleven years. May you both rest peacefully amongst God and his angels, now and forevermore.
I grew up on the West side of New Rochelle, NY in the 60's and 70s. It was mostly an Italian neighborhood then. One thing you don't get from watching these videos is how wonderful those Italian Food stores smell when you walk in the door.
I love Dom, be he a comedian, an actor, or a kitchen chef. Inspiring me in new dishes to mix up an otherwise boring menu I made for myself. Watching him not only make delicious food but the way he handles himself with friends and family makes me realize what we're missing in a genuine and goodhearted people in fame today. Miss him like many others do. Bless you Michael for uploading this in your father's memory.
Michael you are truly holding up your father's legacy the fact that you take the time to acknowledge all of Doms fans is really amazing. You are a class act! Every time I make a pot of sauce I think what would Dom do lol
I was blessed enough growing up to watch great people like Dom. Let's face it most today don't have this. I always imagined he was a pretty good dad, always seemed to be the life of the party. Genuine and loving. You can just see it in him over the years. He's missed, I'll say that. I couldn't image anyone not liking him. Long live the 80's. He inspired me to cook.. I remember watching him thinking gosh if only I could cook like that. I am probably not nearly as fun to be around or know for that matter.. but I can cook pretty well no thanks to watching him and I would claim to have a sense of humor. Well, most of the time.
From my joyful (after watching this video) Sicilian American heart! I'm vegetarian, so I skipped through the meat videos, but this is a favorite video now. Thank you for posting! I'm Generation X and the kids nowadays don't know nothin' about that old school life. Peace and love to you and yours! Thank you for posting!
I still miss Dom so much, he truly was one of the greats, he had such warmth and quirkiness, he was just an absolute joy to watch, whether acting or cooking.
Oh how I wish I could have met Dom. He had a wicked sense of humor and could make anyone laugh their heads off. First saw him (his voice at least) in ADGTH and then watched his other films one by one.
Dom was one of my favorite actors. He is very missed, but what a legacy he left. He seems like the kindest, most genuine, and funniest person. A class act. RIP, Dom. Thanks for the memories.
Hey, thanks for posting this. Your fathers 1st cookbook was the first cook book that I bought in HS. Arguably at the foundation of what eventually led me to culinary school. The storied and recipes had so much in common with my mother (Italian from Paterson, NJ), that I bought her and my brother a copy. We all still have them to this day. I recently saw a copy selling on Amazon for $85!!!!
What a beautiful relationship he had with his mother. What a kind man. I love his children's book "Charlie the Caterpillar". I read it to my children, and the preschool children I taught, and to my grandchildren. It got so worn out that I had to laminate the pages and bind them together with a shoestring. I still love that book and I think that the man who wrote it had a big, wonderful heart.
Thank you for this video. This brings back memories of cooking with my nonna growing up, which were the best memories of my life. Plucking fresh basil and tomatoes from our tiny garden just like your dad and grandma are doing here. I watch this whenever i miss her too much and it makes me cry thinking about those times. The love for food and family shines through in this video and is something to be cherished.
I just love seeing Dom Deluise ! He was so cute and lovable! You just wanted to hug him. I just watched, Fatso recently, so funny. I loved movies with him and Burt Reynolds, the best fun. God rest their souls. They are both laughing and.kidding around in heaven, with Jackie Gleason. Thanks for the upload. 💖
happy i seen this. i havent heard the name "aiellos" in years! loved that supermarket off of bath ave and 18th avenues. they had the best italian cold cuts and specialties at that time. aiello and his friend both made the mozz and rice balls as well as the fried proscuitto bread. it was incredible! you can smell that all the way to bay 16 st off cropsey ave, as aiellos was off the corner of 18th ave and cropsey. i remember vinny since i was 8 years old. michael, if you check this, wonder if that apartment is still with a family member. i think the home was near scarpacci's. my grandfather knew your grandmother.
Yummy smells blocks away! Mmmm! Grandma was bld. landlord. (bought w/ grandpa's satiation salary). Stayed in the family, as well as valuing property investments.
@@MagickerMike awesome to hear michael. i went to bath and 18th, well the whole area. aiellos is gone sadly. luckily i remember how to make all they sold. i still watch the video about once a month when feeling homesick. that neighborhood had a tradition. maybe not a good one, go to school, grow up, shop at aiellos, victory memorial hospital if sick. then when a loved one passes away scarpacis. hope your family is doing well michael.
Video viewings sound like chicken soup for the soul. Me, too. FIACCO'S pork store-Parsley & Cheese thin sausage wheel-desert Island food! (Goldfish eating...never know when you're done). Wishing you well, dear homesick heart.
Oh what a terrific man , the gentleman was a great comedian , movie star , Italian cook , but he loved his family and it showed , fantastic father the love of his life Carol beautiful wife .
Michael, I have had an Ebay search for these tapes absolutely forever, and no one ever sold any. This is fantastic to find! My husband and I learned nearly everything about cooking from your dad's videos. I made Pasta "Fazul" for my dad all the time when he was alive. These are a treasure, and for you, I'm sure they're beyond precious. Thank you for sharing. Your father brought a lot of joy to this world, and had a unique way of teaching cooking, in that it was fun and informative. God bless you.
I always loved your dad in so many movies. Last night I watched Fatso again for the hundredth time. Love that movie. Thank you for posting these videos👍
I went down a rabbit hole of watching Dexter's Laboratory videos and found myself here. Your father was a major part of my childhood and I only truly realize this now well into my 30s. I'm honored to see more of his work I never knew about!
I really think a biography of your dad and Burt Reynolds and their friendship needs to be written...they were great together and your father was such a nice and funny man.. I was sad the day he died.
He was also the voice of Stanley the troll from "A Troll In Central Park", Christopher Columbus from "The Magic Voyage" and Fagin from "Oliver & Company".
Holy smokes! Dom had a cooking channel? His cookbooks became holy grail to my father, his grandparents came from Italy and were so eager to assimilate they never wrote down a recipe ( probably because their English was bad). I just made this last week!
" Fatso" is one the best and funniest food movies ever -- " he ate the ony!!!" " 35 years old and you stiil don't know how to run your plate"- "How did they get the spaghetti on the ceiling???" And the Chubby Checkers !! I get a headache and rib pains from laughing so hard every tiime I watch it.
I remember watching this with my grandma when I was little. I could watch your dad cook anything. I don’t remember exact episodes but I remember he called something “googootz”
I was a big Fan of your Dad's Movies, Cook Books etc He is Sadly missed by all of his Fans May he RIP, Thank you for sharing his great Recipes, By keeping his Memory Alive in all of us, gone, But Not Forgotten, Etc. I cherish my VHS, Of his Recipes,One dayY i would like to put them on DVD's For my Kids also etc?
Great video! Just curious if anyone knows the long, curly type of pasta that was topped off with the marinara sauce... Looked like a very long version of fusilli. I've been looking everywhere, but can't seem to find it.
You know something Ma I think the store is my favorite store in all of Brooklyn he says that to every Italian story walks into love Dom DeLuise always did miss him he was so funny especially in Cannonball Run the movie Fatso the end with Burt Reynolds two best buddies all together again in heaven they made the perfect team
