3 weeks in and gained 8lbs taking me to the highest number I’ve ever seen on the scale, 211. Blew my mind. On daily cream and 2x/ week injections. No change in waist band and don’t look or feel bloated. I have mid section fat so hoping overtime I lose some of that belly.

This was my 5th injection today. First two weeks gained 13 pounds. Heaviest I’ve ever been as well at 275. But I’m 6’2” I’ve been working out for about a year. I don’t don’t into any of my shirts. But all my pants are great. I even fit a little better in them. My muscles feel replenished and I lift a lot more weight every workout. I actually want to pump weight all the time now instead of really having to struggle making myself do it. Everyone asks me jokingly “ what are you on” but I smile and say, nothing just started working out. I still have fat but my belly fat probably got cut in half. And I don’t have a “gut. Just a little but on the hips and stomach. I mean, I notice a huge difference in the mirror. I’ve never taken steroids but man it feels like it!

I started TRT at the guidance of my medical Dr, about 7 weeks ago. In that time, I’ve seen some improvement in a few symptoms (mood, sleeplessness, energy, etc…) . This video made some sense to me, as I’ve also gained about 8-9 lbs. I’ve been hitting the weights 5+ days per week, and feel as strong now at almost 53, as I have in a dozen or more years. I started at 255 lbs, and boy was I surprised at the scale this morning when it read 263.5 😮. But I feel terrific, so other than maybe cut back on a sweet or 2, and back off on a little carbs, I’m not going to change much.

I was at 206lbs when I started TRT. I’m on week 6 and the weight is up almost 10lbs. Started doing 1 shot at 200mg for the first 5 weeks and bumped it up to 280mg. I track macros with a pretty strict diet and workout 5-6 times a week, with 3x cardio a week. So I’m not sure what is going on

Good interview, Dr T is well informed & spot on with his overview....bottom line is trt+healthy lifestyle to include a reasonably clean diet, regular resistance & cardio training, should net a leaner physique over the longer term i.e less body fat, but water retention is more likely attributed to excess high GI carbs in the diet & other factors such as high sodium.....

Doctor T s right about higher dose of Testosterone = Equal to higher dose of aldosterone. I gained so much weight on nebido 1000mg that I hate it. Also my stomach is painfully bloated and I feel horrible...I feel pregnant...Also my estrogens spiked through the roof!!!

Isn't lean mass gain (or body recomp) like 80% of the reason why guys get into TRT? I know it was a big part of why I started. I wanted my workout routine to actually pay off (the way it did 20 years ago).
My issue is that I noticed immediat fat gain. My diet didn't change, my workout routine didn't change (if anything I added in a bit more cardio), but since starting TRT 4 months ago, I've gained about 8 lbs and my body fat increased from 15% to 17%. So I'm not getting leaner (the reason I started TRT). I wanted body recomp...but it's going the wrong way. Also I should note that 8 pounds might be much for many...but my weight has been between 172-174 for over 10 years. No matter what I eat, no matter how much I workout...it's always the same. So you could say that I've been in a maintenance routine for years. I just expected that by adding in test that maintenance would have greater impact and cause a recomp.
    I'm 42, 5' 10", 182 pounds, 17%bf (test 760). I'm taking test 150mg/week (2 pins) along with HCG 50iu /week (2 pins). I have been on for 4 months. I started at 174 at 15%bf (test at 390). So my comp is worse than when I started, despite gaining a little muscle.
I can't figure out how almost doubled my test levels, and stuck to the same diet/workout...but am in worse shape? This sucks.
Now I realize that it's impossible to goin 100% lean mass. But I am a bit shocked at the results thus far. I expected to simply lean out after starting TRT. I expected to stay at roughly 174, but thought that the TRT would help with recomposition (i.e. the same weight but lower body fat due to some fat loss and some lean gain).
My goal was not to bulk, and certainly wasn't to gain fat. I was hoping to stay around 170-175 and drop my BF down to about 12%. The exact opposite has happened and I have to say I'm not impressed. That said, I definitely have gained some muscle...and I can see it...but it's just not what I expected.

I just got blood work 3 weeks ago, so if anyone has any suggestions on what is causing all this gain, and wants to know any numbers, let me know. Starting test level was 390, now at 760.

      I’ve had a very similar experience. Topical gel 1/day @ 15 %.
Diet and exercise routine has not changed, if anything doing more cardio to offset.
Short experiment, I stopped for 1 week and a lot of the extra weight had fallen off. I’ll touch base with my doctor and see if there is a work around. Estradiol levels in the normal range

37 years old 5’ 5” 275lbs on Feb 24 2024. I’ve had a lifetime of eating all processed & fast food, & drinking non diet sodas & energy drinks, only time I drank water was when soda or flavored drinks were not an option. Feb 24th 2024 I went on low carb diet and dropped almost 20lbs in the first 30 days. So April 3rd I started TRT injections weekly, I have continued with the low carb diet, and as well as at least a 12 hour fast. It’s been 7 weeks now and it’s completely halted my weight loss IMO. I was 257 when I started TRT & for the past 7 weeks my scale has bounces between 254-260. I’m not seeing loss or change in my clothes either. I’m starting to become really discouraged, I haven’t had a regular soda, energy drink, French fry, chips, burger, candy bar, in almost 3 months now, I literally eat meat, nuts, cucumber, diet soda & water. Should I continue TRT, will the weight loss pick up again? How long until I should start to see weight loss again?

I was on Clomid for a while and really focused on weight loss this year. Lost about 25lbs of fat and put back on about 4 of muscle. Switched from Clomid to 200ml of test weekly and now Im up 5lbs in two weeks. Im hoping this is just fluid retention with a little more muscle as I still want to be lighter (reduce stress on joints)

Just bullshit from promoters. I have gained 20 pounds in about 6 weeks and it certainly isn't muscle (200 mg cypionate per week by injected micro dose daily). I actually decreased calories and that didn't seem to even slow the process. And while there was a some water weight in the beginning, I know what water weight and fat look and feel like, and I have a lot more fat that I can grab with my hands and see in the mirror. This happens to a lot of people, so to deny this or ignore it is not helpful. To just pretend the problem doesn't exist and promote your treatment is bullshit.

Hi Rev. Jack, sorry to hear about your experience. It's worth noting that TRT's effects can vary greatly from person to person. Factors like diet, exercise, and individual metabolism play a significant role. You might want to consult your doctor to discuss dosage or explore other potential causes for the weight gain. It's crucial to tailor treatment to each individual's needs, and your feedback helps highlight this. Thank you.
