People are not gonna buy iMacs anymore, I mean getting a mac mini for 699 and adding the peripherals are much cheaper than a good speced iMac. You still get awesome performance and efficiency too.
Hello . Bought my M1 8GB 512GB MODEL. normally I use consistently 16 GB of memory with my Mac’s for intel CPU. SO MY Applications run smoothly with 4 cores i7 processor. But from time to time it lags. Especially when I open Handbreak to convert my videos and the same time watching movies with intel my movies as I convert other movies with handbreak. … the movie that I’m watching keeps on stopping but with M1 chip nothing like that. It runs very fast and smoothly . And also when I start my M1 Macmini, I didn’t see any Apple logo and progress bar just swoosh I’m in my log in information…. Really the M1 chip as you use it, you can see the difference from intel CPU’s and I’m impressed with the unified memory imagine I only had 8GB memory but it runs like 24 GB of memory . Not to mention that it has 8 cores CPU & 8 cores off GPU, and regarding stressing the Macmini M1, I convert all 25 videos (movies) that I owned, that needs audio conversion, continuously, but I never heard the fan …. Really it’s dead quiet, imagine I was converting my movies overnight but you can feel the heat on the chassis that’s why I open up my fan to cool it up somehow overnight. The cores are used almost a 100% and heat is around 86%. And. With it running the conversion…. I watch movies, on UA-cam, typing opening my social media in a very very smooth way. It’s really revolutionary the M1 …. Smoother faster and cheaper. Though honestly , I’m skeptical in buying it before as I always be confident with 16 gb memory and 512GB to 1 Tb SSD is my choice. And quad core i5’s or i7’s intel. So I took the risk, thinking that I downgraded my memory would it be he same performance as my quad core 16 gb 512 SSD model , but you know what…. It surpasses that, that’s why my purchase is superb I am say that this is much better than my quad core i7 intel 16gb 512 SSD model … better better and smoother. At the most of my tests, application wise,…… until 4 simultaneous work load continuous usage M1 can handle it. Who knows maybe more than that it depends on the apps that you use.
