I was looking for this video. I bought the base model for 499, then realized I needed more ram , so I coughed up the 180 extra dollars for 16 gigs for students, and bought a 2TB nand external ssd for 200$. Going through Apple for the storage is insane for the same amount of storage. Total for the mini680$(student) and 200$ for the external storage. Not bad Keep it up dude. @@ToffuPLbro, base model would be fine if you are not going to load with high performance or more demanding gb software...but if you can afford n want to stay out of any risk with future updates, go with 16gb. Most people using it for that kind of work should definitely upgrade to 16GB of RAM, I don't think the SSD upgrade is needed since thunderbolt external SSD work pretty fast. It's nice to see a realistic test, most youtubers are using negative thumbnails and titles to get more views, and using unrealistic workflows to make the mac mini look bad. Dude. Your lighting is on point 👌🏽 I just bought an M2 Base Mac mini. The ssd is a small problem. Other than that, it’s already streamlined my video edits along with photos. My 2019 MBP struggled a bit.
Holy shit, I've been debating a base model when they go on sale. This really sold me. Sold on the base model!
My suggestion (equal to what I have) for a good minimum: 16RAM 512SSD (the 16 is a must, the 512 is 2x the size and also 2x the speed of 256, but not cheap.) Want more SSD? Go external.
Already people told you that what you are doing is right and what are they doing is wrong and just wasting their time so thank you from my side also thank you from India that you did whatever we wanted to see and you gave us the decision to buy the right mac. I’m thinking about getting the base model for a replacement of my 2014 MacBook Pro. I can’t afford an iMac right now and actually now is not a good time to buy an iMac with still an M1 in it. Maybe I’ll upgrade to a new iMac in 1-2 years and I probably should be able to sell this base model Mac mini for about 400€/$ by then. Seems like a good deal - but - because of the price - with the 8GB Ram instead of 16. 16 would be preferable, but I should be fine since I don’t do a lot of editing or stuff like this.
The question for me isn't about how they operate today, it's more about a year or two down the road. As we know you can't upgrade Mac mini, what you buy is what you have. If you buy a basic Mac mini tomorrow with upgraded unified memory 16GB and upgrade the SSD to 512GB. How long can you expect that machine to stay relevant. I get I'm asking one of those questions similar to how long is a piece of string.
I wonder whether the performance would improve with the 512gb SSD option. It is supposed to be about twice as fast as the 250gb SSD. The 250gb SSD is actually much slower than the original M1, based on what I have read.
The performance would probably be better but I never had a performance issue - the RAM is still what I consider to be the worst part about the base model.

Thanks for the video, dear, do you think mac mini m2 ram8 will work for editing 4k 60fps iphone13 videos with premiere? Or am I bothered because of the RAM? Each project is 30 to 70 gigs (about 3 hours) of raw data, which takes about 15 minutes and less than 2 gigs. Thank you for your guidance🙏♥️
Cool so basically I’ll be fine for photo editing on a 16gb base m2 Mac mini. Thanks for proving useful information instead of a bunch of BS benchmarks most of us give 2 shits about.👍👏👏👏👏
Do you think the 16gb will last me at least a few years doing a mix of light and heavy premiere editing and also getting into motion graphics, VFX, etc.?
Dear sir Thanks for your helpful review.. I want to be sure.. do you recommend mac mini m2 with 16 gb for animation and after effect ? I want a long years mac.. Will 16 gb be really enough?? Thanks .. I will really appreciate your reply
I will be buying the m2 mac mini shortly and i am undecided on the 8gb/16gb. I do want it for youtube video recording and I use an external camera(a sony zv-e10) as a webcam, as well as recording the computer screen at the same time. My 2020 macbook pro(intel) is absolutely struggling. It basically does not work, the video gets out of sync completely as the fan of the laptop goes crazy. I know that the m2 is way better and probably 8gb would handle this scenario (which is basically why I want to buy the m2 mini), but I am wondering, do you have any experience with that ? If so, did it work well for you on the 8gb model ?
I was able to screen record this tutorial and do all of the editing with only 8GB of RAM which is great, but I would ALWAYS advise more RAM if your budget allows for it for the sake of future proofing.
@@TonyStoodios Thanks a lot for the reply :) Were you using the internal mac webcam or an external camera for your face(connected to the mac) ? I think I may end up getting the 16gb but it's insane how much more it costs compared to the base model. almost 40% more lol
if i dont care about the extra storage, is it okay to not get the 512? i plan to just add the extra ram to 16gb . I will mainly need it for editing with final cut pro for youtube videos.

I saved this video and subscribed so I can find your link. Would your course help someone with little experience with computers?
Hai tony I m really confused after watching lots of vedios about m2 mac mini. Simply i need a computer for vedio editing for my youtube vedios . Is that m2 with 16 gb and 512 ssd will be good.?
Is macbook pro m3 pro with 18gb ram enough for After effects and premiere pro??like editing for youtube creators with motion graphics and all..32 gb one is expensive
As long as you're not constantly hyperlinking between Premiere and AE all the time then 18gb ram would be enough. I use 32GB or more of RAM since I always hyperlink but my workflow isn't the same as yours.
m2 is not bad at all. in many benchmarks (mainly synthetic) its actually better. But M1 is just better value. because M2 has to be at least 16gb and 16gb 256MB model is almost twice the price.. and still SSD is 2x slower. those are my conclusions after seeing many similar comparisons. M2 base.. 8gb 256.. just NO too many issues with it. maybe for students casual gaming it's ok. but for work.. even the 2yo base M1 mini is just better.
Hiii sir , lm thinking about buy mac mini m2 for the purpos of 3d max work and After effect work or Nuke Can l buy or not please tell me These software working smoothly on mac mini m2 ........ Please tell me

I want it for video editing(davinci). which one one i should be going for ?
Thanks for the video, dear, do you think mac mini m2 ram8 will work for editing 4k 60fps iphone13 videos with premiere? Or am I bothered because of the RAM? Each project is 30 to 70 gigs (about 3 hours) of raw data, which takes about 15 minutes and less than 2 gigs.
Thank you for your guidance🙏♥️
This is amazing.. btw, what's the keyboard and monitor that you are using? Sorry to ask
My mouse is a Logitech G502 X LIGHTSPEED and my keyboard is a Logitech G610
Cool so basically I’ll be fine for photo editing on a 16gb base m2 Mac mini. Thanks for proving useful information instead of a bunch of BS benchmarks most of us give 2 shits about.👍👏👏👏👏
Do you think the 16gb will last me at least a few years doing a mix of light and heavy premiere editing and also getting into motion graphics, VFX, etc.?
Which LG monitor you used?
and keyboard and mouse?
Dear sir
Thanks for your helpful review..
I want to be sure..
do you recommend mac mini m2 with 16 gb for animation and after effect ? I want a long years mac.. Will 16 gb be really enough??
Thanks .. I will really appreciate your reply
Definitely go for 16gb, for your working demand
How good would this be for 1080p video editing?
I know I’m here for the Mac mini but i have to say is that the communicator on your wrist ????? 😭 i need it
Where can I get the Spider-Man wallpaper from ?
does it have virtual ram? if yes does this mean 8ram 512gb rom great for gaming?
I would get more ram but i'm only editing in 720p to 1080p projects
the 14 minutes with after effects is me daily
CAN U DO A VIDEO ON MACBOOK PRO WITH M2 PRO CHIP BASE MODEL THE SAME WAY
Ill see if I can make it happen.
Great video dude, congrats!
I'm a photographer and thinking about mini mac m2. Do you think base model will handle photo editing aswell or should I go for 16gb? I'm talking Photoshop/Lightroom/luminar RAW files.
Thanks 🤘
Definitely 16gb or 24gb of RAM should be what you get!
If my 2015 iMac was plenty with 32GB of memory would 16GB of unified memory be enough?
If you never went past 16gb before then I’m sure this will do you fine - but if you always did just get the 32gb. Better to have more than less.
Im very new to editing and as a matter of fact i am waiting on my new mini m2 and everything else to come in the mail. I definitely need a beginner course to learn the basics of editing videos. I saved this video and subscribed so I can find your link. Would your course help someone with little experience with computers?
Yes it will! I talk about computers from hard drive space to cpus and software. I’m sure it’ll be a great help.
Hey!!!So much going on here … subscribed🎉……
Hai tony
I m really confused after watching lots of vedios about m2 mac mini.
Simply i need a computer for vedio editing for my youtube vedios . Is that m2 with 16 gb and 512 ssd will be good.?
I bought a m4 mac mini 16 gigs base😅😊
how is irt for editng'
Great
Is macbook pro m3 pro with 18gb ram enough for After effects and premiere pro??like editing for youtube creators with motion graphics and all..32 gb one is expensive
Looking to get the Mac mini m2 with 16gb, still going back and forth with the 256gb or 516gb 🤔
I really recommend 512gb over the 256.
@@TonyStoodios 👌🏼
Wouldn’t even load the playback
