@@floydbarber7528 I'm responding to the comment that her cosplay looks better than the live action. I don't agree at all. Her hand most likely is better but the outfit and wig pale in comparison to the movie's.
She even got the right height down for the cosplay.

I love how Adam clearly has no clue what FMA is, but is so in love with the cosplay so much and always feels so genuine.
Absolutely, he just love craft and cosplay in any sort
her designs being an interpretation of "fantasy grounded in reality" makes it much more amazing.
I think my favourite thing about these videos with cosplayers is that there a tiny moments where you can see how, excited/nervous/happy they are but they are trying to hold it together.

More when I normally watch tested, I happily nod along as he flits between tools/materials/friends that would fill my house and bankrupt me - and I excuse myself on those grounds.
Just when somebody makes something like that with an FDM printer and a can of filler-spray I find myself lacking in excuses...

1:59 That looks great. It makes sense to make it more like armor because Ed has inner workings that actually replace his arm to hold everything together. But to make it look amazing, not be all loose and rattling about AND actually allow for full mobility of your arm, 10/10
I think Adam Savage is a fantastic interviewer because he both displays an amazing amount of enthusiasm but he also brings a fantastic amount of knowledge about the build process. When Melissa described her process he understood it and was able to build on the conversation helping to educate the viewer without anything feeling fake or condescending.
this channel is so wholesome. adam is a total fan of people his interviewing and it really shows off. love it!

Her work with the arm is simply amazing! Also I love the way Adam is respectful of her work and always enthusiastic.
What a young, beautiful, smart person. She seems very humble and I love the choice in character and style.
Lovely design and absoutely brilliant engineering, reusability and seamless modularity along with integrated functional elements really are the fine art of development. I am very excited and impressed to see people who just keep raising the bar :D

I was seeing her work a long time ago and was rly disappointed there was so little presence of her on the Internet.
I am so happy she finally has the courage to step in front of a camera. Her work is just amazing, She is sure to have a bright future with her craft.
As a whole, I was shocked and amazed, but then they started to tear it apart and I have no words.

That's what I thought it was from the preview clip.
i think the wearer of sumting like that would like a little smoother and natural surface that looks like its other arm for day to day use ,just to prevent drawing attention to the arm , then again the person (M/F) can wear it over the stock prostetic when the person wants too on special ocasions like the comicon and be someone without a noticable handicap for a while
She made a prosthetic leg for Natasha Hope Simpson... check out her gallery. It is very impressive.
If they ever made a prosthetic arm like Eds I'm cutting my real arm off. 😂

She did! I think it's the only fully enclosed 3D-printed armor set in existence.

@@Shifterwizard It's a combination of this ua-cam.com/video/L7vKjZakY04/v-deo.html and her Sovereign armor! I don't think it's public yet but I know she's working on another full suit. HOWEVER. Since the armor is completely modular, she rarely wears the entire suit all at once.
That's pretty cool because the opening song for Full Metal Alchemist is called Melissa.

Damn she does all that in a few days and it takes me a year to do that in my Forge and on my anvil I need to get a 3D printer
To be fair, she did say a lot of it was built upon her previous designs(which is months before), with mixes and matches, as well as I'm guessing she does this for a living. Still what she made is mostly better than the costumes of some live action adaptations of cartoons and comics
Not to mention forge and anvil can take the same amount of skill or more depending on the level of autimation

Took me 2 sleepless months to make a suit from 20 gauge steel. I was hammering rivets the day of con.
Adam had very curious questions and the cosplayer answered them confidently. Her work , that just outstanding
She is adorable, and and amazing artist. The elbow joint in particular is very impressive.
It fully enclose the arm, but at the same time offers a surprising amount of movement freedom. And more importantly, it looks great.
I can't wait for the day when prosthetics look and move like this.

You can get really good movements with a 3D-printed arm, servo's and an Arduino. The downpoint is that it's not strong at all

One of my favorite things is when a person who is normally reserved comes alive when discussing something they are passionate about.
Adam, please make a video on making Phantom of the Opera (stage version) prop replicas. I'd love to make a Phantom mask for example, and the Phantom's fireball staff. However the latter may be problematic and dangerous. Would also love to see you make a miniature version of the set/stage, like Björnson did for the show!
