Nice update man appreciate! I have a couple thousand miles on just Borla axle back with stock midpipe and it hits right where I was looking for. This helps me with any ideas of an aftermarket midpipe as I don’t want it annoying the neighbors or me inside the cabin.
Yeah it works great for me coz the stock setup was just too quiet for me but I didn’t want anything obnoxious either. Looking at getting a tune from Loi after I get a few more miles logged to fine tune what Lexus leaves on the table. Are you tuned?
IMO, Apexi Res mid pipe alone is the best combination between exhaust and the induction noise. The midpipe alone isn't as fast as cars with full cat back but it is better than the oem for sure. I can now pass cars with 8th gear on the highway without downshifting. This wasn't possible before the installation.
Appreciate the opinions about the sound and drone of the products you installed. I am shopping for IS exhausts for my new 500 and want to make a smart purchase that I don't regret on the highway.
Completely understand. Definitely no drone with just the Apexi resonated midpipe. I’ve got the Invidia Q300 axle back on my 500 and you’re right, it’s very loud on cold start. Trick for me is to quickly get it into reverse to drop the idle RPM. I have found my combo not unbearable. In my mid 40s so definitely don’t want to roar awake the neighbors at 6am. Was actually surprised a couple of my neighbors mentioned it wasn’t that loud after I preemptively apologized to them. Separately - what wheels & tire sizes are you running? Those look GREAT !!!

Otherwise the sound is perfect...just loud enough and at full throttle screams in a beautiful symphony. But that drone...it's gotta go. Those little stock mufflers were doing a lot of heavy lifting back there.
Try the RR bazooka. It’s valved so you can have it quiet and loud when you want. The only thing is when I looked at it once on their website, I think you have to buy their midpipe too.
