Idk why ppl beat down on the Flip 3s battery life. With 7+ hours of constant screen on time is fairly good imo. I have an iPhone XR which has a smaller battery and a worse LCD display. I personally would think this is an upgrade if I get a flip 3
As a z flip 3 user I can tell that the thing is... I never let the batt going down from 20% and with the SIM card and a normal use (socials, spotify, etc) I usually get 4hs of screen on, I don't really mind actually, the phone is awesome, but 8hs with normal features on it's kindda imposible in my case. Ps: sry for bad english
I currently have an XR and I am strongly considering getting the Flip3 despite mixed reviews. The compactness of it is a feature I have missed with flip phones.

Remember these phones tested haven't got a sim card in them. Makes a huge difference
You cannot compare your usage on a phone to another phone's battery in a battery test on UA-cam it just isn't accurate. You will get very different results using it irl

@@4039byrne Seems with Android 12 my Z Flip lasts a little over 6 and a half hours while watching UA-cam with a SIM card.

I honestly have a fast charger everywhere I go for the most part (in the car at work an in the house) so the fold 3 battery life definitely isn't a problem.

Lol at this. Man this phone sucks at charging. Its 25w and takes 1 hour and 40 from dead to full. Its slow asf. Least its faster than flip 3

Hi can I confirm I understood this correctly? You’ve measured this as screen on time for each phone and a 10 hour standby? So the Fold 2 maxed at 9 hrs? Screen time on? If so that’s good as other videos say a max of about 5 hrs screen time?
The most impressive phone is the one with the timer on it 10 hours 38 mins and it's still going.

I have the z fold 3 and typically the battery lasts about 1 1/2 to 2 days depending upon use with SOT (Screen On Time) varying from 5.5 hours to 7.25 hours. I love my z fold 3.
How long does the battery keep if you only use the front screen. I can't find this information anywhere.

I have yet to see someone do a test of the Z Fold 2 or 3 Closed cover screen only compared to the S21 ultra. There are days where I never open the fold and it feels like the battery is great. Could you do that test also?

Its weird how the previous z flip didn't seem to have any battery life complaints (at least I didn't see them mentioned in videos), but now the latest model has a ton, even though it isn't much different.

Yeah ist impressive. Also most of the videos and reels are actually 60fps and you can make the screen of the flip 3 60hz instead 120hz so its battery life would be even more with this

The flip 3 still charges faster than the Google Pixel 6 pro and one is supported up to 30W charging and the z flip 3. Supported for 15 w. I think that says a lot
Samsung flip series are securely protected by any kind of miscellaneous environment. It is worth it to have one even with low specification requirements amongst others.
The smaller the battery the more it wears so they use slower speeds

Supposed to be getting my green fold 3 delivered very soon and coming from a note 20 ultra i can get a full battery in 1hr 11min with it on or not but I'm not sure if it's faster than 25W
tbh, when i heard ppl shitting on the flip 3’s battery i was scared to get this phone, but it’s way better than my samsung galaxy a50 i have since may 2019. it’ll be an upgrate. my phone now takes 2h to charge and approximately lasts 5h to 6h at max

@@kushall3515i am using it as my secondary device. U have to be extra careful while using this phone as there are many micro scratches in inner screen with normal usage. The phone is beautiful bcoz of its unique form factor but its not practical , just a gimmick.

@@kushall3515I don't regret it, I have mixed feelings. it's a totally different phone. People will notice u when u flip open the phone in front of them. That cool satisfying feel good factor u will get but for how long? it's not worth spending nearly 1.5 lakh on a phone which will become a mini tablet when u open it. Else u can do on normal phone. That's it. No more unique features.U will get bored in about 4 to 5 months,.Better go and buy S22 ultra or Iphone 13 pro which are much practical or if u want to experience fold/ Flip form factor then get the flip instead which is nearly half of fold's price. U will have to compromise on battery. But This is my last fold. I won't be buying other fold until the price comes under lakh which will not happen.
But if u have the spare money and want to buy the fold then go ahead and buy this as this is ur money. But spend wisely. Cheers.

I know some people may care about battery life on their device but me personally it's not a deal breaker for me. More often than not I'm always somewhere where charging is available. Same applies to fast charging. 25w is plenty for me. All these phones coming out with 100+w charging scares me honestly about battery life and safety of the battery itself. I'm impressed about the battery life for the fold 3 for what it is and I'm happy with mine.
i feel the exact same way actually. Overcharging batteries does a ton of damage to your phone, and having 25w charging means that the battery will stay safe for a good 5+ years.

It is possible if you use the phone for 8 hours continuously like he did. With normal usage and much more standby time, all phones have much lower screen on time.
Partially also due to Snapdragon 888 is made by Samsung 5nm

I was thinking that I really don't care a lot about battery draining or usage, most of because I don't go outside often due to the pandemic, and at normal times the average time outside of my home it's about 6 hrs straight, and ofc I'm not gonna be in the phone every second, I want to change my iPhone 11 Pro Max for a Galaxy Z Flip 3 and everyone is telling me that the battery is more small and I'm like: I end the day with almost 50% battery on my phone, I barely use it at moments.
I just bought the Flip 3, and tbh, almost 8 hours of constant use? That's fine. I literally forget my phone exists lmao. So that constant hours will last me all day; most days.
As a video player, fine... but with a sim and regular moderate daily use, I'm lucky to get 2 hours of screen time my flip 3's battery estimates are only 10 to 12 hours on a full charge. This will be the single thing that makes me leave my fun flip in the rear view mirror. As a frame of reference, I let my flip 3 run this video for 10 minutes on wifi with my Sim card in and the speakers at 50% and I went from 89% to 87% in 10 minutes. If I use that calculation, I should get 8.33 hours of screen on time, but when you wrap in the other daily activities, you honestly do get far less... as in like a quarter of that time if you're lucky. I'd love to hear from anyone that owns the device to see if my experience is worse than theirs!!!
Spotify with unfolded the two Z Folds, really? Also the benchmarks and the recording? I don't think is a fair comparison with almost to have to power up the double screen real estate from the others. Normally about a at least 50-70% of time the fold is used folded and of course can be used 100% folded.

I have never gotten almost 8 hrs of screen time on my flip 3… loved the phone but the battery life was an issue
So 8H ou SOT is not good for you! I think the flip phones did great even though they have the smallest capacity in the bunch.
8h SOT is very good but keep in mind this test wasn't done with a sim card and not at full brightness. In a regular day I get more like 4.5h SOT
@@DariusKracht that's a drastic difference. I really want to get the Z Flip 3 but I feel like I'd be missing out or not upgrading on a lot of fronts from my current Note 9. I average about 7 hours of SOT a day and about 5-6 of those hours is possible on a full charge. Even then I am charging my phone 1.5 times a day on average. I really want the z flip 3 but I feel like my battery life and SOT would be largely the same if not worse. Both phones are 15 W and the Z is a lower resolution, albeit higher refresh rate. The more I think about this more I feel like I need an S 21 Ultra....

Everyone here is saying the galaxy flip 3 battery is good, the phone is good but, i bought the phone on release and was dissapointed for 1000 usd the battery life only lasted 4 or 5 hours for me after almost a year of ownership i turn the 5g mode off and keep the display on the lower side of brightness just so the battery can last thats my personal experience with the phone.

7 hours is an insane amount of battery life my iPhone 11 gives me 30 minutes of battery so 7hrs is a night and day difference
S21 Ultra all the way as battery life is more important to me than a flip form factor.
To be honest they both have such long battery lives it doesn’t matter for me also he was running the fold on the large screen the entire time and it’s not always like that
I had a S21U, traded it in for a FOLD 3, NO regrets!!

How on earth do you manage to get nearly 8 hours of SOT out of the Flip 3? I know it was the worst battery life out of all of them, but it was still way above what I get out of it! I have the Flip 3 and I average about 4-4.5 hours SOT, sometimes less. I'm not a gamer and I don't watch a lot of videos or listen to a lot of music on my phone (I have an Echo Show 10 for that!). As an example, I'm going to have to plug the Flip in again for the 3rd time today (came off charge this morning, plugged in around lunchtime, plugging it back in now at half past nine pm)...that's with only moderate usage. The battery life is shockingly bad.
Keep in mind these tests are done without a sim card and brightness wasn't maxed out. In real world usage I never got 8h of SOT and I usually to charge it at the end of the day
I wanted to switch from my s21 to the flip 3 but the battery life is holding me back. With my s21 I get around 6-7 hours of screen on time running 120hz but if I go to 60hz and put on low power mode I never get below 8:30 of screen on time. Have you tried putting low power mode on to see if it makes a difference? It basically just decreases screen brightness by 10 percent and limit's the cpu to 70 percent. I would love to know from someone what battery life the flip 3 gets on low power mode if you try it could you let me know on here? Thx
@@DariusKracht no offense but you should really stress that. I was sitting here thinking If it gets that much screen on time I should get it. I would have been so mad to not know you ran the battery drain test without a cellular signal
If you get 4-4.5 hours SOT with one charge and need to charge twice then that would suggest you used your device for more than eight hours that day. I don't think many smartphones offer eight hours SOT. Basically only the Galaxy Max variants and the latest iPhones have such endurance.
@@C3lloman that's a wrong assessment because I have the regular S21 and I get anywhere between 7-10 hours of screen over a course of 24 hours
Glad I haven't got used to 120Hz displays, I just keep that off on Flip 3 to get more battery life
How much screen on time do you get with it at 60hz?
Why buy a flagship and then turn off the most nicest feature? I did make battery tweaks but kept 120hz on and getting about 6 sot. But I haven't really pushed it. Juts charging to the 85% capacity limit to save battery health. I truly believe that's the only thing Samsung dropped the ball on was the battery. If it had a 5500 mah it would be perfect.
@@Food-is_Life whats the nice about 120hz :D Like for real, does it even makes change to day to day usage.. most people would just scroll instagram and facebook, twitter etc. and give money to have the feature just to say thy have it.. no real utility in moving your icons and infinite video scrolling :D some will say gaming feels different.. yea on a PC screen it does but who games on a phone.. and again thats my opinion. Having that scroll "smoothnes" agains lets say 1 or 2 hrs of SOT. I would buy any 60 hz phone for a reasonable price and battery advantage against something that you forget you have in 10 mins of usage.
@@denislavdimov2347 I have to disagree with your comment but to each it’s own. Haven’t you ever heard the phrase, “better to have than not needed than not have it when you need it”? TBH for someone who wears glasses the 120hz really helps me see the screen better and look so smooth rather than the lag with 60hz. Don’t get me wrong I’m ok with 60hz but 120hz is so much better. I have a note 10 plus I still use and an iPhone XR that are 60hz. It’s just good to know you have it and can turn it off if desire. Also a lot of people do game on their mobile devices. You’d be surprise. They even make controllers to link or add to the phone for better controls. I mean COME ON you’re gaming mobile! Lol. Anyway like I said it’s all about preference and what you like? I like having the bigger screen and 120hz display. It’s very functional when you need it. About the controlers and all the addons for phone to game.. looks quite dumb to me :D TV and a console or PC + TV = experience, phone is just like a handjob compared to sex :D sorry for the nasty comparison but I think you got the sense of it. I'm a multitasking, non social media user with preference to longer usage and work getting done from the phone and might use my devices for different purposes than most people. Different people, different needs. Be safe too man!!!
this video is not fair the screens on fold are twice size of other phones thier making this non valid same for folds they can be operated 100% while closed! So if the folds were closed during this test then I would say this video is valid untill then it's very unaccurate of a test for the folds

Not sure how that was done? I'm only getting like 6 hours sot at best and that's with some tweaked features but I keep 120hz on because why have a fold 3 if you can't enjoy 120hz?
@@Food-is_Life 7 hours sot is typical for me on a Flip 3 but I keep 60Hz only because the difference is not worth it, idk it is just too subtle for me to sacrifice 1 hour sot for that.
@@jamrug3472 it really depends on what you do on your phone. if you eatch tons of videos/tiktoks/movies then it's not worth because each video has its own frame rate. if you mostly scroll through social media, etc. then 120hz is the way to go :)

I almost went from the S21 Ultra to Fold3 but the battery stopped me. I gave my dad a Flip3 and that's neat but not impressed with how warm it got and the battery.

Stupid if you ask me I sold my fold3 as the the battery didn't live uptothe hype it's a joke you bring out 2 phones in one as a fold and use fit a note 20 ultra battery in it the note ultra struggled to last let alone a fold with 3 screens needs a at least at least 6000mah guys the cameras are shit on it very old-school 12 megapixels. . quality front screen is way to narrow
