If you don't consider the iphone the winner because it is 60hz, I'd suggest running the same test again with the others configured at 60hz. I'm curious to see how much hz affect battery life.
Ohh the hz affect the battery life soo much, I can get 2h more on the s20 if I use 60hz instead of 120hz
if u use 120hz instead of 60hz your battery will run out faster. ;)
@@MiguelCamba s1 should test that 😁
Point it BOSS
@@jonasrichtr LOOOOOL. S20 with exynos works MAX 4 hours of screen time in 120hz and 4.5 hours in 60hz
I've been looking all over UA-cam for an Exynos S21 battery test and finally found one, thank you, great video!
Do you know how to check if the phone has SD888 or Exynos 2100?
Battery on s21 is not so perfect. Today I got s21 and 60% battery gone in 3h video call
@@adkd85 all Samsung phones have struggled with video calls for a while, think its an android thing. You saw in this test how much charge they all lost in the zoom call.
@@adkd85 honestly not bad considering it’s a 3 hour VIDEO call. No phone that I’ve seen lasts half a day with heavy use so I can care less about battery. I care about performance and speed.
@@adelioskampos8090 thanks
YES Darius. Standby time is soooo important and reviewers seem to forget it. You never use your phone nonstop getting ridiculous 8-10 hours SOT, standby drain makes up a good chunk of battery drain. Thanks for incorporating this into your test
Unless you’re gamer haha
@@Open6a-fx4qf haha in which case I'd suggest to you that you should use a PC/ps5/gaming laptop and enjoy a far better experience than playing on your phone
@@Open6a-fx4qf mobile gamers are irrelevant outcasts
And a sim network plays an important role in phones battery
@@Open6a-fx4qf WHy the F*** would u play games on aa phone. Get a PC ffs.
Yesss we want to see the comparison between exynos 2100 and snapdragon 888, on s21 !!!! Thx bro
The snapdragon si better
Exynos 990 is a disaster.
It’s time for new exynos2100!!!
@@hahayou2869 still they need to improve
It's not that bad as compared to when it came out. Thank god they fixed some of the heating issue
69 likes nice
@@guitarboy0211 yeah. I have the same. Now the overheating is not an problem but IT is 15:19 and i have 45% of battery. Not much.
Finally a battery comparison that accounts the standby time as well! Good video
Thank you so much for this. definetly the best battery test ive seen
You are the best!! I was looking for a batery test including stand by time because thats one of the most important tests
Great video. I’m happy that the exynos has been improved this year. I can at least consider it now
thanks for doing an s21 test, everyone is focused on the ultra which isn't what most peopl are interested in!
I have the s20 and if I knew how about the exynous cheap is I would have never bought it. I noticed batter is aweful after 2 days way before everybody started testing in, even in normal everyday usage you can feel it. btw, mine loses 12% overnight with nothing in the background!
i have the s21 ultra and it loses 6% overnight, i do think the battery isn't good enough for a flagship
Mahn u r a saviour..I was looking for exactly this type of comparison. Stand by time is the thing which most of the other reviewers forget.
Jesus Christ is the Saviour :D
For me it goes to show most batteries are in a similar band, so when my phones dying I feel better to know most phones are dying roughly the same time haha
Great.....I was waiting for this test between s21+s20+pixel5 and u selected this .... thumbs-up
please also include iphone 12 mini as it id priced very similar to the s21 in various markets.
Amazing test! The Stand-by part was a MUST!
Imagine the Xperia 5ii was set in 60 Hz...
4000 mah wkwk
And if Samsung was set too at 60hz and not 120hz....
And then imagine iphone with 4000mah
Best concept by far! Genius.
Finally!!!! Thanks!!!! I've searched whole UA-cam for Exynos battery
comparison
Thanks man ,professional grade content .
Great content. Thank you. New sub!
Sony.... damnnnn Brah - Sony won this hands down at 120hz
Samsung too 120hz
4000mAh Brah
@@SigmaGigaChad-yv4ci sony too has 4000mah
@@x_rabbox_ that’s what I was referring to
@@SigmaGigaChad-yv4ci ah ok sorry
Wow, I am impressed by this battery test that you did
Great video, alot insights on the current trend smart phones
Finally find a video for the Normal small S21
I was looking for that too
I am interested to see Xperia 5 III with 4500mAh battery and set to 60hz. That phone should last 2 days at least.
My Snapdragon model is still in the mail so stay tuned! In the meantime you can check out how the new Exynos 2100 compares to the Snapdragon 865 & 865+ and its predecessor the Exynos 990.
My latest battery test on all Galaxy S21 models and the best Samsung currently has to offer including Note 20 ultra, Fold 2 and S20 FE: ua-cam.com/video/TWiaaLu9BGo/v-deo.html
🔥🔥👍🏻👍🏻
Stand-by part. I liked 👍🏽👍🏽🥰
Great video! I'm content with your test
Yeah I'm curious how the SD 888 version would fare compared to the Exynos. Also, do you think there are some battery savings in locking the RR to 60 Hz?
for sure man,i mean i really think so but it depends on one thing,I don t know if the adaptive refresh works when you re on 60hz,it could depend on that cause when you re using the adaptive refresh rate on 120hz,the refresh goes down to around 40hz when you don t need it,so that's why it might take less battery consumption than the full time 60hz,but idk I m just saying.
@@MrPaul-bb6ng I don't think it's adaptive if you're on 60 Hz. But I was thinking if a person is mostly doing reading or some other non-intensive task, would the 48 Hz be able to average less than 60 Hz. You know what I mean?
@@voiceofreason314yeah i get it,that means if you re using your phone that way you should keep it on 120 with adaptive rr on,but if you re gaming or scrolling on social it better to use the 60hz for battery purposes
@@MrPaul-bb6ng in developer options, you can turn on a visual icon for the refresh rate.
Great video. Took Apple many years to get their batteries in order. The stop watch phone lasted the longest....LOL.
Apple is great at optimizing iOS extremely well for their few devices, which is the reason why the iPhone 12 performed so well here. Imagine if they made an iPhone with let's say a 5000mAh battery. It would be INSANE. I've actually been thinking about switching to iOS, but the lack of customisation options and fun experimental features are stopping me. Still through, iPhones stay up to date for way longer than most other devices, plus they feel polished and pleasant to use, so we'll see about my next phone...
yes and they are the most expensive phones too, so you get what you pay for
@@babyyoda7311 actually the good part is that they costs about the same or less that the others
@@babyyoda7311 no they’re not! Samsung makes more expensive ones, as well as other brands
60Hz screen is dogshit tho.
@DANIEL CHUKWUKERE In my country s21 costs about 415/452 dollars and Iphone 12 costs 754 dollars, they are just the same price when they're launched but later samsung drops to half of price...
Hey bro.. We wnt snapdragon version vs exynos s21 battery test...
great video! Which phones are brand new though? Besides the S21. I Believe that matters when we talk battery life and performance.
Great video. Could you do the snapdragon vs exynos s21 comparison?
The phone he was using fr stopwatch, had the most battery 😂
Yeah cos he never changed the screen that's why
What phone is that?

Awesome battery drain test.. Keep it up bro
THANKK U THIS IS THE ONE IVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR!
Can u do this same test with all phone’s refresh rate @60 ?
@The All Rounder All of them can
great job 👏
Thank you so much for this! I'm so glad you had the Exynos variants of the Samsung phones. This really helped me to decide on whether to get the S21 or not, especially with the Exynos processor. Great work!
what did you choose? I have no idea yet. pls help
@@marcobologna I was deciding between the pixel 5 and the exynos S21. I decided to go for the S21. Should be arriving in a few days. Especially with the preorder deal samsung had, and the improved battery, it was hard to pass on it. Let me know what you end up deciding to go with. Good luck!

Wow thank you for this video 👍
It was very nice
Most welcome 😊
By default you cannot force 120Hz at 1440p on Galaxy S20, only at 1080p - so which one was tested then?
iPhones are beginning to get a bit scary now. The way it lasted would seem impossible but I guess not
Great battery Drain test as always bro
That standby time of the xperia you got there is weird, mine only drops 1% after 4 hours of standby
Yeah. Same here!
Maybe you have a low brightness, turned off bluetooth and location
@@user-md2jd8bm8r - Brightness shouldnt affect standby.
@@thataviationguy4913 - Yeah. But since the iPhone doesnt have AOD it should be turned off on all phones for it to be comparable.
@@thataviationguy4913 - We have to agree to disagree 😊
Great video
This really shows how good the hardware and software works together on the iPhone.
Much smaller battery, but pretty much the best in term of battery life
with a 60hz display
@@k1rafps exactly
Thank you!!! (Especialy for the standy part)
the standby time - the best test on the internet
I want to see a snap dragon test. I have a galaxy s21. My battery is brand new (brought it last Friday 12/31/2021) battery life 2 days 1 hour for me. Of course I never used the phone that heavy like you did of course. I just had to mention lol
great video. How is it even possible.
Hi, may i know when u doing this test xperia 5 ii is with Android 11 update ?
Well video recording and zoom do not use refresh rate, do they? Comes down to optimization. Smallest battery I mean that battery is very small and has paid off for 60hz on the iPhone, resolution was bit higher than other phones except for s20 but it still won
How did you get 8 hrs of on screen time on s21? I can barely get 4 and all I do is browse and watch the occasional video. Is it because of the February update?
Then you have a fake galaxy model
How do you feel the warming of s21? Mine is warming up with in minutes. Especially while using camera, video calls. And battery drain is fast too.
Wow, very nice and special review
Well done you are the best
My s21 lost over 15% on standby overnight. I must have a faulty device. This same device was overheating and had a screen defect(dead pixels and such).
did you close the background running apps tho?
I'm planning to get a s21, and I live in Europe so I knew I would get exynos, so I needed this, thanks
What phone is the one that was on stopwatch?
Did you notice some overheating when opening apps on the s21? I have the exynos 990 and it gets quite hot when opening applications such as UA-cam, Instagram and Facebook
It's wayyy less hot this year than previous, even cooler than the SD according to videos and comments I've read.
This moment when the s21 with 120hz can keep up with the iphone 12 with only 60hz. That is a very big difference
Well its not. S21 has 4000 mAh when iphone 12 has 2,815. And u gotta admit that ios looks very smooth even with 60 Hz.
What are your thoughts on the curved infinity display on the s20 as opposed to the new flat screen on the S21? I feel that the infinity display helped the Samsung lineup look and feel more premium.
Wow I'm impressed with Xperia
Yeah especially with a 120hz refresh rate
is the true tone for the iPhone 12 on, or the normal dislpay just look like that?
Old samurai keep holding katana. Thank you for this review!
Good job sony..although at highest refresh rate and non adaptive still manage to sustain
I have Samsung s20 ultra. I play always music from UA-cam. Starting in the morning until evening, the battery is very Impressive. My phone is already 2 years but still the performance of the battery are nice. I would say better than Samsung s20.
Hmmm sonyy ❤️
I have the S20, battery lasted quite good at first, now it lasts less, but still lasts a full day.
It was very interesting!
Remember to stay hydrated today everyone! Btw thx for pass hehehe
I have to stay hydrated so that my subliminals can work
Very good!!!
Sony Xperia 🔥🔥🔥🤙😎
The real winner was the phone that was showing how long It's been. And after all phones died it survived. 😂😂

Looking to get the Sony 5 II once prices go down a little. Definitely a sleep phone for 2021.
im waiting for the price drop too, actually i use the s10 i like it really bu0t battery is not that great...
@@maximmatiyuk5240 small phone don't have good battery, the plus version will last longer
Its on sale for 699€ here, would you buy it for that price?
@@upandownbackdown I would personally wait until it's about £500 or about €600
same kinda concerned whether the 5 ii or S21. both seem like amazing phones but the 5 ii got everything
Yeeees! We need a snapdragon vs exynos comparison
You've gotta give it to apple. Imagine creating an OS that catch match battery life of phones with batteries twice the size.
Just use battery saver mode in android if you wanna get 'optimization' of ios.
@@frankreynolds9930 what and turn my phone dumb 😂
@@joebmxx Well ios doesnt let background apps to run much and battery saver in android phones almost does the same.
@@joebmxx normal battery saver, not extreme power saver
No lmao, S21 only has 10% more battery and a 120hz display, so if a an Iphone had 120hz and a 4000 mah battery it would perform worse
Looking on my iPhone 12! Proud of this
Can you do snap dragon vs exynos s21 battery comparison
Can u try testing all the iPhones that apple sells now please ?
I got the s20 and yes the battery drain fast and can get hot pretty fast but it never crash and smooth gaming even when hot and low battery
It's interesting to see all the different variations of the S21 battery. I've seen it last the longest. I've seen S20 last half an hour longer. Overall it does seem to last a while tho. So that's good. The 10-120hz adaptive display is a really good power saver.
Yooooo l found you
S21 has a 48-120Hz adaptive display. the 10-120Hz one is on the Ultra.
You know that it's not plus or Ultra version right? Base version is 4000mah
Exynos is just not as competent as the Snapdragon. In order to achieve the same level of efficiency as the SD888, the Exynos 2100 needs to drop to 58% of its maximum performance, compared to 77% for the Snapdragon. This explains the 600 single core score of the S21 here when thermal throttling.
GSMArena tested this already and it really shows that Exynos is still inferior to Snapdragon, though to a much less gap compared to last year, where the Exynos is almost as good as an upper mid range chipset rather than a full-fledged Android flagship SoC.
@@troy5568 that's not possible buddy. Both the exynos and snapdragon chips have the same cores and everything is the same. Only difference is the gpu.
Yeah I’ve had the 21 ultra for like 3 days and I’m taking it back. It over heats fast and battery goes to 95% just sitting idle for an hour. Plus it’s format is extremely awkward
Could the eye shield have been on the iphone looks more dark than all others every phone have the same lighting except the iphone .. i wonder if it helped with batterie life on the test ? :)
this video I was looking for, thank you very much!!
in fact, if you can do a battery test with the s10 + exynos vs s21 exynos it would be of great help
Such an old phone, you should just check older reviews that are still relevant and just compare the numbers. Works the same.
Sony has the best Android battery but people always find reasons to hate on the size of the battery lol
you should put all phones with the same specs- My s20 is always in 1080p and 60hz, so the battery is amazing.....
Please match the refresh rate and the resolutions of all the screens as well ...
Now the same video with s22 please ;D
it s upto the chepset of those samsungs, the exynos use 9 watts, snap use 6
Finally
thanks alot for this video
if you put s21 on 60hz how many hours you think it gonna last?
- S21 is the best in autonomy is Notorious, 60Hz is shameful for a device of 1,000 dollars Like the Iphone
Exynos . Here in India battery is draining heavily. I dont know but many people are complaining about the heavy battery drain. Full charge even lasting for half a day. I'm using it. Tried optimizing all the background apps. Lets see how it works out. If it does not improve then I'm returning the phone.
Watching with my sony xperia 5 II 😁 yes im agree standby sucks in sony. Is your sony xperia 5 ii ANDROID 11?
This test would be fair if you set the s20 S21 resolution to fhd and 60hetz
I have relaxed watching when the phone with the timer dies 🤣
Far closer than I thought it’d be
