    Thanks for the awesome comparison. I have the K652 and was trying to decide if it's worth it to step up to something more expensive on the thought that it might be noticeably nicer. After watching your review, I feel like my money would be better spent on a nice mouse. Thanks!

      My pleasure! I’m so happy I could help! And I agree! My K652 is a very nice board. I’m currently using it again for a mini pc review I’m working on. If it weren’t for UA-cam I wouldn’t have to switch so much and I’d focus on updating my main PC that need some TLC these days!

    The comparison was quite useful for me because these are two keyboards that I want to buy now. At the moment, I have acquired the Redragon and a Nuphy key pack, but in the near future, I hope to buy the Nuphy keyboard.
    However, it's amazing to see how two products so far apart in price can be so similar.

    I owned three Keychron K2s and two of the three have had switches fail. The switches aren't readily replaceable, and Keychron wanted me to jump through tons of hoops for a warranty claim. I replaced the two failed boards with Air75 keyboards, but needed one more wired keyboard for a guest workstation spot when the K2 there eventually dies. This convinced me to save a little money and get a roughly equivalent keyboard! Thank you!

      I need to try some of the Keychron's! They released the new one with Magnetic switches and I really want to see how that one feels compared to the Akko! How do you like the K3 compared to the 652? What are your overall thoughts on that? I'm going to ping them and see if they're open to working with me!

    Hey!
    I'm a little stuck on weather I should buy the K652 with the red switches, or the brown switches... I have used full sized brown switches for a while now, but I used to use reds as my go to!
    What do you think would be a better buy for typing and gaming in the long run?
    One more thing, which would be better for sound modding?

    • @Micromation
      @Micromation Рік тому +4

      Low profile reds are an absolute nightmare. You sneeze and it registers I puts. You glide your fingers over keycaps it registers inputs. It lacks any sort of meaningful feedback to the point where I've had to set up tacky backlighting to give me visual qué that I've might'vs pressed something on accident. It's a typo galore for me as well. I haven't tried low profile browns or blues but I'm sure as hell to never touch reds ever again.

      K652 uses low profile Outemu switches which has a different pin layout than the Gateron. You're limited to the Outemu low profile switches (red, brown, blue), not hot-swapping to a different brand of switches.

    I'd be curious to know about the keyboards compatibility with other low profile switches. I know both boards are hot swap, but which one is going to give me the better access to other switch types if I don't like the stock options? For example, if I'm looking for a quieter linear than the stock reds, which board is more compatible? I know they have different pin layouts but I'm not familiar enough with low-profile boards to what I need to look for.

      I have the Redragon K652 and I believe these switches are Redragon specific. I believe the Nuphy is a common Gateron switch. To me, for the money, if you don't plan on playing with a bunch of different switches, the Redragon is a fantastic value. I've really enjoyed mine. If you want to play around, the Nuphy is definitely the way to go.

  • @DuskoJovic
    @DuskoJovic 3 місяці тому

    From what I can tell, Redragon has a significant advantage with its shine-through keycaps. Since I mostly play games in a dark room, the Redragon K652 stands out as the obvious choice.

  • @somaticHuman
    @somaticHuman 11 місяців тому

    I have low profile Redragon 621 Horus on red low profile switches. And the most bad thing in this keyboard is the switches. They super light in the begin and very strong in the end. When you press buttons It's so light in the begining, and so hard in the end, that you can't catch turning on moment. Its everytime different. If you press with a small pressure - they will work, but you don't get the plate, but if you press more hardly - you do. So sometime you can filling how keys kick the plate, some time not. Very bad filling, not stable, not fun, difficult to understand tactilely.
    Another thing is Gatheron. Start pressure and end pressure have a small different. So it looks more consistency on a paper. And you have a big choice. They have a several versions, with any characteristics, with double springs or any.... So... if we talk about filling and about low profile, I think Gatheron must be the deciding factor.

    wait so whats suppsoed to be quieter? red switch or brown switch? the brown switch on the red dragon azure seemed to be much much quieter.

    • @CoZChristopher
      @CoZChristopher  5 місяців тому

      Usually Brown Switches are quieter as they are generally more "work/productivity" focused. Red, usually Linear are a combination of "Gaming/Productivity" and usually live in the gaming space, and Blue are "clicky" haha LOUD!! But that will vary with brands and their offerings but "rule of thumb" Brown/Tactile=quiet, Red/Linear=gaming/mid and Blue/Clicky=Typist/Loud

    Redragon one has lower quality switches and hot-swapp shafts, meaning you can only fit a couple brands of switches in it. Combine that with the fact it uses low profile switches and your choices are VERY limited. I got a redragon one a couple years ago and I really regret not knowing this at the time.

    • @shahroznaeem
      @shahroznaeem Рік тому

      Unless you used it in the last 2 years, things have changed for low profile keybaords. Gateron, Kailh, Cherry and Outemu all offer low profile switches of different types. Redragon also sells its own switches compatible with its keyboards. And things will definitely improve.

    • @user-vq9vx3mk3h
      @user-vq9vx3mk3h Рік тому +1

      @@shahroznaeem The problem is, Gateron, Kailh and several other brands won't fit in this keyboard because it uses hot-swapp shafts not sockets, that's the problem with most Redragon keyboards and the reason why I stay away from this brand.
