@@csbcsb4458 Winx was a freak don’t get me wrong, but she honestly didn’t have much champion quality do beat at all. However Sunline had a horse called Northerly to compete against, not to mention Lonhro also. Winx did not have to beat champions like those 2 mentioned.
Over 1200m or 1400m she would have picked Winx up and carried her. More to the point she may well have beaten Black Caviar. Back to Winx, interesting over 1600m. Further than that, no chance.
It would be a hell of a race... Winx didn't race against anything nearly as good as Sunline... but to put things into perspective... for Sunline to have run to the same rating figure as Winx she would have needed to beat Northerly by about 4L in the 2000 Cox Plate... given the fact that Sunline led and Winx ran nearly 3 secs faster (time a poor indicator admittedly) I doubt she had a 132 in her... certainly not at 10F anyway.
She kicked just about 150m from home and got 1 length on him thats what won her the race. Legend horse she was and she beat him on his home track but luck played apart Sunline always made her own luck by leading and having a high cruising speed.
@@tonylove4800 and WINX didn't win hers against Sunline. Sunline beat a horse in Fairy King Prawn who ended up winning the World Cup in Dubai. WINX would never have made it to that level overseas. WINX raced against mainly hacks who Sunline would have beat running backwards.

I know absolutely nothing about horses! But I watch sunline all Day , could someone tell me the best 3 horses ever bred in New Zealand?
