In college I was a night watchman in a warehouse overnight and would hook up the PA system to echo Klaus throughout the building especially on starlit nights making my rounds, listening, and gazing at the stars through the skylights. What a job... what an artist
@@intramentalstudios5573 It was an overnight security job at a sugar warehouse. Id come in, study, put the music on, make rounds, and open a lawn chair to look up at the stars with Klaus providing the ambience in a dark echoing environment or put on Stars End radio wxpn. Ahhh bliss!!!

One of Klaus’ defining characteristic is his ability to make eerie otherworldly music without it sounding like a dark and sinister piece that belongs in a horror film. Instead his music has the quality of the unknown, the anxieties and hopes we feel living in a mysterious universe. He takes us on a journey that isn’t meant to lull us into ambient bliss but rather challenges us to explore new creative worlds in our minds that inspire wonder but also gives us a sense that where we’re going might not be a utopian space age fantasy but perhaps something better- something beyond our earthly understanding.
That's an incredible feat to visualize. I clicked-on the eye-candy of the thumbnail just a moment ago and read this comment, like I haven't lived my days writing electronic music beyond the rapture of a sanctified respite for my restless soul. Perhaps from a creative perspective on finding a sense of purpose or belonging to one's art, music like this can aptly invoke a yearning for something beyond the humanistic limitations of what drives that creation forward... And forget the boundaries of possessing it altogether with the compartmentalizing idolatry that such imposed limitations can bind for a perceptual paradigm. But I agree. I think the music is pretty badass :D
I coincidentally (?) discovered Klaus just following the recommendations just now. I like reading the comments under the albums like this. There's so much life in them. I never commented anything on youtube but decided to make my debut here. I'm a DJ and a drug addict. I hate the second part about myself. I feel stuck. Sometimes I forget why I have stepped into DJing. Music is the thing that brings me to the state of the Universal (God's) confession. This is the thing that makes me feel like I'm in a movie and that I'm alive at the same time. Karl hasn't cured me but made me feel that again for this hour and a half. I have a lot of thoughts right now. And all of them are bright. Thank you and rest in peace, Karl. And thank YOU for reading.
Discovered Klaus Schulze in the 1970s by accident and have been hooked on this kind of music ever since. It seems to negate my A.D.D. and puts me into a zone of total concentration. Came in handy for studying, doing boring assignments, and even housework. Even good for insomnia. Another great artist of my generation ..... gone, but not forgotten.
Music can definitely have that effect. Not all ambient music is good for concentration though, sometimes it makes me just stare into space. Also, some distinction between motivating music to start working, and unobtrusive background music like this for continuing to work might be good.
Irreplaceable - the soul of electronic music... I remember listening to Jean-Michelle Jarre "Oxygène" when it came out in 1976, forty six years ago. I was blown away. Then somehow I got a copy of Klaus Schulze's Timewind, and I was forever changed. I have listened to KS every day since. Every year the release of a new album was like a gift from a best friend. I never saw you in live in concert, how I wished I was there... Thank you Mr. Schulze for making my life a more fulfilling one!
One of few true pioneers and masterminds of synthesizer-music has passed away. Thank you for your lifetime-work. Thank you Klaus, for countless hours of comfort, uplifting, calm, intensity and peace and all the feelings that I was able to experience with your music and will always experience. Thanks. I’m still cautious about music like this. It does something deep in the mind that its hard to be aware of, and it has parallels to some drugs from the sounds of it, stimulating the synthesis of such chemicals by your body I guess. It doesn’t appear to cause much harm, but it might take you away from concerns in your life that were worth being concerned about. Some things you can let go of but there’s always some grounding needed in life, and too much of a good thing can take that away I guess.
It saddens me that he died, but his music will live forever. I've barely scratched the surface listening to his music, but everything I've heard is better than the last.

What a mystical piece of music this is. Surely, Klaus must have had a very deep and metaphysical role to play in the success of TD in the first place back in the early 70's. The music blends into the background of the mind and stimulates whatever the listener is focusing on, such that it almost feels like subliminal magic. Thank you to all of the listeners who have reported the same feeling. What a wonderful album and a true musician. RIP Klaus.
KS had this way of making Berlin school music like this that ear wormed it's way into your consciousness whether you were paying attention or not. So many many times I'd put on a KS album and get utterly lost in space and time to it, hypnotised by its beauty only to snap back to reality when the absence of music hits at the end. Sometimes I wouldn't realise it ended and just be in something like a soporific state. He did sequencer music like very very few others.
Listened to Mr Froese and Schulze when I was 16 years old teenager. Now I have, at the at the age of 50 re-discovered their beautiful avant guard music… Even my wife has taken a liking to it!
this started as a recommended video one night, clicked on it for the insane cover art. i fell in love with it so much, that i immediately bought the vinyl on amazon. only 2 left in stock (so they say). got it this week, love it. come to find out, today marks the 13th anniversary of this album’s initial release! I cant believe i went this long without knowing who this guy was! thank you universe for this gift, and thank you Klaus for the beautiful psychedelic sounds that calms all of my shaken nerves.
Same here, haven't bought the Vinyl but discovered it through youtube and been listening to it every night for maybe 1.5 months last winter. Now it's getting back into my nightly routine haha.
Same allure with the artwork for me because I didn’t know who this artist was when I clicked on it. I was hoping or expecting it to be a Techno album of sorts because of the art, name, and title. Reminded me a lot of some material by Tangerine Dream when I listened to it.
Where I been all this time so busy being a husband and father and grandfather working until I retire during pandemic no visitors looking on iPhone and iPad music nothing but strange and brilliant talent groups funny some of them I never heard now I’m 77 years old any music on this UA-cam is a god sent love it
last year was my freshman year in library science, here in maceió(brazil), i used to play this on my phone whilist going back home at night in the bus, i always get the ones with longer routes and late at night its easier go get empty busses, so i just listen to it while glancing at the buildings going by as i approach the downtown area and the cars and the people, i'm not from the city, i grew up in the countryside, so even if was a solid 2 years living here, i still found myself glancing at the metropolis like i've never seen it before, and this... dude... this is the soundtrack to that Klaus and some other artists, should i mention them, Cuevox, Ex Aquis, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Shako-Pani and DJ Marky inspired me to start making my own songs, my own soundtracks. ... jeez i hate covid, stay safe you muffins
Yeah omg the ambience of klause with the stage set at night and long hours of solitude afforded and things to observe in a dream like state while listening. omg aphex twin we are all musically related lol. i segwayed into van dyke and carlcox from aphex then got into show gaze and returned back to space. try forest fang and shingo nakamora. all inspired me i wrote about 300 songs but its just a hobby for me😞, morpheus1x
I get you, I'm from Finland so any description of "Metropolis" is kinda gratuitious here, but I grew up in a suburbia where there weren't even any _buses_. For me, blasting GitS soundtracks or ambient music while riding random bus routes in the summer months when the sun never really sets is a big big mood. I'm in my thirties now but I don't think I'll ever get tired of good music and mundane views
Ruhe in Frieden Klaus.
Gracias Klaus!

When I first heard the moog at age 10 (50 years ago) I was intrigued. When I first heard an album from Schultze I was swept of my feet. This guy is a pure synth genius and has brought me many hours of deep space enjoyment. give the man a medal for almost every album. thanks for making my life above bearable.
I discovered electronic music while listening to a great radio station in the 1970s. WGTB was a student run FM radio station out of Georgetown University in Washington, DC. The station also played reggae, punk, and other music that I heard nowhere else. That is where I learned of Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schultze, Brian Eno, Mike Oldfield and others. I was immediately intrigued by the sound and warmed to it. Quite a contrast to the other music on FM radio at the time, for sure. Thank goodness for UA-cam. I can find all the music from my old albums and stream them in my car and at the office. Great music to have playing in the background while working. I do miss the fun of going to the record store, reading liner notes, sometimes getting a poster, and album art.
I often get to hear that Klaus' music is depressive and sinister. The other day a friend of mine said that those people who say that are full of fear of the unknown...
What an album - the kind of music that never grows stale no matter how many times you listen to it. A godfather of trance if there ever was one. Greetings from England.

I always come back for a listen to this one . I like all Klaus Schulze recordings . Timewind was the first album I listened to when I was 14 in FL at my friends house . His mom and stepdad were hippies and one night after smoking I sat back and closed my eyes and felt like I was levitating at times . This was the mid 1980's and I still enjoy Timewind . Kontinuum helps me levitate even higher off my chair these days , without smoking weed . Thank you :)

Same here, haven't bought the Vinyl but discovered it through youtube and been listening to it every night for maybe 1.5 months last winter. Now it's getting back into my nightly routine haha.
I want what this dude is smoking 😅😅😆😆😇🥰🥰

Same allure with the artwork for me because I didn’t know who this artist was when I clicked on it. I was hoping or expecting it to be a Techno album of sorts because of the art, name, and title. Reminded me a lot of some material by Tangerine Dream when I listened to it.

Where I been all this time so busy being a husband and father and grandfather working until I retire during pandemic no visitors looking on iPhone and iPad music nothing but strange and brilliant talent groups funny some of them I never heard now I’m 77 years old any music on this UA-cam is a god sent love it
Cosmic Rock true Master. Thanks Klaus, your music is our Heritage for ever. R.I.P. Klaus Schulze
This is electronic music at its best. Thank you KS for all your inspirations and gifts of music for our enjoyment.
last year was my freshman year in library science, here in maceió(brazil), i used to play this on my phone whilist going back home at night in the bus, i always get the ones with longer routes and late at night its easier go get empty busses, so i just listen to it while glancing at the buildings going by as i approach the downtown area and the cars and the people, i'm not from the city, i grew up in the countryside, so even if was a solid 2 years living here, i still found myself glancing at the metropolis like i've never seen it before, and this... dude... this is the soundtrack to that
Klaus and some other artists, should i mention them, Cuevox, Ex Aquis, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Shako-Pani and DJ Marky inspired me to start making my own songs, my own soundtracks.
... jeez i hate covid, stay safe you muffins
Guys, this world is filled up with souls like ours and I'm so glad u can appreciate that as well
@@jaterkin843 TG!

Electronic Pioneer & Maestro...Poland Love Klaus Schulze ! RiP Master (*)
This is incredible! I feel a tickling sensation in my chest listening to this. It takes me to that euphoric realm that cannot be described in words.
Ruhe in Frieden Klaus.
My space radio Playlist is full of ambient spongs

RIP Klaus Schulze. Thanks for all the music
I miss discovering bands based on thinking their album art looked cool =)
The best German Electronic Artist... R.I.P. Klaus! You Change My Life... 😔😥😥😥
Klaus Schulze is a master of electronic music
agreed 100%
I agree too
A GENIUS my friend
Yessss
I like:)
Farewell to a great master. Thank you for your brilliant music.
An ambient masterpiece.
this sounds like someone with the soul of a true Piano master. I just discovered this, then find out he's gone. I'm sad, yet amazed.
I often get to hear that Klaus' music is depressive and sinister. The other day a friend of mine said that those people who say that are full of fear of the unknown...
RIP Klaus... we miss you... but your music will be forever
What an album - the kind of music that never grows stale no matter how many times you listen to it. A godfather of trance if there ever was one. Greetings from England.
This is ambient not trance lol
@@fleaship6134 Who's saying this is trance - do you know what "godfather" as in influence means?
How old are you 14?
What's your problem you said it was trance? And now you're being rude for no reason.
@@fleaship6134 If English is not your first language maybe that's why you're not understanding what I said - if you do speak English and still say I said it was trance I can't help you - read my second comment again.
@@fleaship6134 trance music is thousands of years old, by that definition it totally fits. and put a donk on the second track and its basically whatever in your mind is "trance" anyways
Brilliant composition Klaus
We Are Waiting For The Re-Release
To me this album is Klaus’ late masterpiece. Make the effort to listen to it on good headphones or better yet between two good speakers. Eyes closed please. Sad that he’s gone, but grateful he was extremely prolific.

My favorite piece to help me not to ged bored when I need to concentrate on tasks and other things to do from the to-do-list, that I have to do because they have to be done. And now they're done, that's fine. Thank you Klaus.
In the first selection, I love the underlying, interwoven 7/8 feel. So calming and ethereal..
music and architecture---undeniable.
This always calms me down and helps me focus.
Genialnie się tego słucha. Muzyka, króra zmienia mój oddech. Zmienia niepokój w odwagę. Muzyka, która wibruje i rozpiera moją czakrę serca.
Feels ominous at first. Then, after a few listens, it feels very homely.

What a beautiful musical experience. I simply lost my self in the music.
Me too. RIP Klaus.
This melody is immeasurable , unfathomable and comfortable to the ear and the mind
After being a fan of edm and hands up music for years I've finally cooled down and found this along with trance... I'm never going back.
I still like my bangin' hard trance, trance and old school hardcore rave but this and TD etc are my chillout music.
I never get tired of listening to this!
Turly amazing tracks befiitting almost all states of the mind and all kinds of doing things!
So sad he is gone. Kontinuum is still my favourite KS release.
