"alvin robertson had his first quadruple double tonight" LOL. he says it like its a common thing.
I think wilt amd russel did quadruples in past but nba wasnt merged and no one really cared about steals or blocks. So it wasnt so hyped like today when every single stat matters
Scrolled down to post the same thing, he said is as though we should expect him to do it again.
Lol 😂
It was lol. Wilt, Russell, Oscar and Elgin did it all the time. The league just wasn’t officially recording steals and blocks early in their careers.
this dude was extremely under rated.
Joe JG omg yes. very much a COMPLETE basketball player.
Because the lie a dirty bitch told
The whole 1980s were underrated . They only speak about the Lakers and Celtics but there were stars in those days that can play in any era.
Alvin Robertson was a underrated NBA player in his prime.
Incredible performance. Quadruple doubles are rare and extremely impressive. Getting 10 steals in a game is CRAZY! I'm a big fan of Alvin Robertson. He scored the first points in Toronto Raptors history.
What’s even crazier is that 2 spurs player hav quadruple doubles Robertson and Robinson how crazy is that
@@dollazandsense Wemby can be the third!
@@dollazandsenseTimmy as well even tho he was cheated out of his
He was part of the 84 draft class. The best draft of all - time and he was not included in the documentary...
quad double is like the unicorn of stats in basketball
Always said that regardless whether or not their careers were cut short - Alvin and Sidney Moncreif should be in the HOF. It's eerie how similar their careers are. Two defensive monsters who could also score on you and were both respected leaders on their teams. Sid is in the Hall now - so it's Alvin's turn. A 4 time All-star, six NBA all defensive team selections, both the Most Improved Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in '86, 3x steals champ, and 7 straight seasons of averaging over 2.6 steals a game, five rebounds a game, 6 assists a game, and never averaged under 13 points a game in that stretch, with a high of 20 in '87-'88. Get Alvin Robertson AND Michael Cooper into the HALL OF FAME. It's a travesty that Ben Wallace is in the HOF and a defensive legend like Cooper isn't in there with a DPOY, EIGHT all NBA defensive team selections AND FIVE RINGS - all while hardly ever starting a game (94 starts out of over 873 games to be precise). Defensive monsters like those guys should be in the Hall. Meanwhile a guy who ONLY scores while playing literally SHAMEFUL and EMBARRASSING defense like James Harden makes the 75th anniversary team. Ridiculous. Nice message to send to future players NBA - well done.🙄 No wonder no one watches the Finals anymore.
Wow, Spurs had 2 players on this list: Alvin Robertson and David Robinson. It's also weird to see another player wearing #21 for the Spurs after so many years under Duncan!
Should be 3
I'll always remember Alvin robertson from trading basketball cards on the school bus. I convinced somebody this was Oscar Robertson and scored a trade.
Didn't know two spurs had quad doubles
Should be 3 bud. Duncan got robbed.
3 Spurs. 2003 Duncan was that good.
well, looking back, here is how u would draft them knowing their potential. 1. Jordan 2. Hakeem 3. Barkely 4. Stockton 5. Robertson
I would draft Robertson 3rd and stockton 4th
I would definitely take number 84 others over all of them
There is no guarantee Jordan gets rockets a ring considering the huge difference between the teams I get he is the goat but I think the rockets would pick the guaranteed rings
@@dumbass4624 ye, Bulls GM was a GOAT by himself, always made the right move. I'm not sure if Jordan is getting 2 Rings in the 90 in Houston
@@ArthPedro what happened to his right moves when he didnt have jordan?
If you told someone that a Spurs player with #21 got a quad double...they wouldn't guess it was Alvin Robertson
Im an Alvin Robertson fan. Met him playing in rec leagues with other nba players,Quadripledoubles is a home with spur's club and the real steal started then David Robinson. Maybe Wemby next. It's the home of the defensive freaks.
Luv this old color layout of the spurs' arena..❤
This dude would cook any era
Honestly, if you made an all-time Spurs team, I would choose:
PG - Alvin Robertson
SG - George Gervin
SF - Kawhi Leonard
PF - Tim Duncan
C - Victor Wembanyama
That all time team could hang with any all time team from any other franchise. Yes, I picked Robertson over Tony Parker. Elite defender, and a steals master. He was also big for a PG at 6’4, and could switch on shooting guards too.
That Spurs team is well balanced with offensive scoring, shooting, and 4/5 are elite defenders.
Wemby is not yet better than the Admiral.
@@The_M0st_High Don’t need the Admiral. Most of the scoring will take place on the perimeter with Gervin and Kawhi. Duncan will be the 3rd scoring option.
Wemby will use most of his energy on defense/shot blocking. More players will fear trying to score on Wemby than Robinson.
@CrimsonUniverse2 Your team would smoke any era. I'd stick Admiral in the five and Wemby off the bench til he proves it but my oh my... all-time team up there
@@P99-v6n The reason I chose Wemby is because he doesn’t even need to focus on offense. Gervin and Kawhi are the top 2 scoring options (both of whom are elite shooters) with Duncan being the 3rd.
Wemby would by and large be a 3 and D guy. Put most of his energy largely on being a rim protector, but occasionally create a gargantuan mismatch and step out and shoot a 3 (or pass to someone else that is utilizing their own mismatch from Wemby stepping out).
But Wemby almost entirely a rim protector, to me, is more dangerous than Robinson with that size and length.
Damn I can't even do this in myplayer
Alvin Robertson and David Robinson!
My boy Mike Mitchell. Possibly the least known NBA star of all time
Alvin Robertson was a great basketball player, always among the top defensive players in the NBA and to notch a quadruple double.......a triple double is hard enough, but a quadruple double, that's good, only 4 NBA players have ever accomplished that, Connie Hawkins, Alvin Robertson, Hakeem Olajuwon & David Robinson. It's a shame Alvin got mixed up into crime after a very good NBA career.
Umm, Connie Hawkins never had a quad-dub, Nate Thurmond had the other one with a quadruple-dozen in 1974.
Your right, I got my players mixed up, it was Nate Thurmond
+Kim Martin I hope so too!!
+Kim Martin Unfortunately he is!
Wilt once put up an unofficial quadruple-double of 24 points, 32 rebounds, 13 assists, and 12 blocks
Only player with a quadruple double with 10 steals. The other 4 were with blocks
Only 4 total quadruple doubles... 3 center and only guard
beast!!!
ugh... i feel so bad for him
The final line is by the announcer is too amazing
i never knew eminem was an nba commentator back in 80s
WILD!
The only quadruple double with steals instead of blocks!
And the commentator isnt even hype
Alvin had at least 2 younger brothers that played college basketball, but his oldest brother was recruited by Woody Hayes at Ohio State.
He was projected to replace reigning Heisman winner Archie Griffin.
He was twice the RB Archie Griffin was (you just saw what his little brother did), but who 'replaces' a Heisman trophy winner?
Turmoil ensued in the RB room.
Robert was let go.
He ended up in Arizona.
This kid was better than Marcus Allen.
Greatest RB I ever physically saw.
Robert incurred turmoil in his adult life, but he was a Superstar!
@JohnDoe what's a 'chris smoove'
A gamer
Yk that NBA teams make bad decisions when Stockton goes 16th 💀
Damn, never knew this actually happened
Only 4 people have done its before
Chris Smoove notched a quad double a few days ago
This isn't a video game. This is real basketball
This isnt a video game.
Where's full game?
Best Spur to wear #21 lol
Nice just found out about him I passed his record on NBA 2k20
Commentator is on dope or what?
Unc shay shay made me watch 0:01 😊
Bc of one girl this legend's legacy is ruined, damn...
Hopped up on coca
Alvin Robertson was an old school Russell Westbrook.
Reminds me of russell westbrook of course russell way more athletic tho
How many QD's did he have?
But I feel ya'.
Alvin was from my home town.
Only 3 time Olympic Gold Medalist Jeep Davis was a better all time athlete. Maybe!
Alvin's mother passed away a few years ago.
Essie. RIP! A LOVELY lady!
Bad video. Why not show his full highlights
NBA players back then played so stiff & robotic 😂
Is it me or does he have some Larry Bird in him?
dan16000 that’s just you. He and Larry Bird were no where even near the same player.
Go San Antonio Spurs
First!!!!!
You jock straps know who hhad the NBA first QD?
STOP WITH THE GOOGLE YOU CHEATERS!!
Nate Thurmond, from Lebron James hometown of Akron, OH!
Now you can cheat!😉
