We're going to be unravelling rather than unboxing this latest addition to the Frontline Gaming Fat MAT collection. See what you make of this brilliant Sci-Fi Ship Interior.
We think this would be great for use in MERCS and Infinity.
What games would you play out on these mats?

assuming the semicircle is on the short edge It'd be a 12x4 table, two 6x4 side to side.
My game club bought a ton of FAT mats this year and they're fantastic, we for a 4x4 road one for DropZone commander which is so much more handy than the starter box mats or cityscape boards

Love the material (have several mats like this) and I think it's a nice attempt...but the random textures all over the place and the blood stains etc. really limit this for me. I'd be a bit more excited to see a company like this produce a number of ships (think mats which are maybe 30"x12" or varying size) which you could layout together for ship-to-ship combat games. I do think this mat would work particularly well in the more grimdark corners of the universe. There are some rather gothic/spiky bits on here. Overall, doesn't work for me, but I'm sure it'll sell fine.

Not quite my cup of tea to be honest, I tend to avoid the textured mats since I dislike the printed '3D' elements such as walls and craters (in other existing ones) since it sometimes forces you to place similar terrain pieces there and, if you don't, it gives a horrible contrast between flat and actual '3D' terrain.
Currently I'm using the old citadel grass mat that I dug up, but me being my, I had cut out a 1x2" chunk for an epic skirmish board that I'm now going to have to stitch back together. Either way, whatever floats your boat... or spaceship.

Um....that's a play mat. It sort of drags the wargaming down to play-time.
