I have both, the original and the DK 100. The built quality of the CC is better, but DK 100 is solid too. I got the impression that the magnetic brakes of DK 100 are stronger. When flipcasting a 3 gram plug, I needed to set the magnetic brake to 0 in order to get similar results compared to the CC (with some magnetic brake active). Or maybe it’s caused by different bearings? (I flushed and oiled all cast related bearings from the DK). Overall this is a very solid reel. Good casting performance, good line management, quite affordable, decent built quality. If it wouldn‘t be a plagiarism of Shimano (which I‘m not a fan of due to several reasons) I would be really impressed with this product.
@@arnemueller2112 hey Arne! Thanks for sharing your findings! I do agree that the conquest feels much better built. Thank you very much for the vid - looking forward to see the inner parts and hear more about how it casts. You Said at 2:08 that it doesnt cast 1 gram very Well because of the spool diameter - Could you please tell a little more about this , why is it so ? Hi from Denmark -P
Hey pml! Yep, vs smaller diameter spooled reels such as 28mm it will be harder for a larger diameter spool to start spinning. This typically causes larger diameter spools to not be able to cast light lures as well as smaller diameter spools. I’ll be doing some distance tests but this is just my guess for the time being. When I took the reel out I did not have any 1g lures with me. I did try my 0.53g lure and it did not casts that well at all but higher weight lures it did well with. I plan on cast testing though to compare the two reels and get some actual distances. Cheers my friend!
Hello Peter! Thanks for your informative review! I ordered dk100 a week ago after watching your video, and it was delivered today. But it has one problem with stardrag. There is a little gap between components(no.47, 45, 32) so I can feel that it is not firmly fixed and it wobbles slightly. Could you share that your reel has the same problem or not?
@@keunkwon84 hey keun! Yep I have also noticed that my star drag doesn’t seem to be tuned very well. I believe it may be because they only use one spring washer which is causing the star drag to feel very “slack” and then tighten up very quickly. I am not a fan of this and much prefer having two spring washers to make the tightening feel a bit more linear. I will take a look during my teardown. I have noticed a tiny bit of play when trying to rotate the handle in the axis of the main gear shaft but interestingly when I tighten my drag all the way the slop disappears. Hard to say what might be causing this… it should not affect performance or retrieve though. Hope that helps and cheers my friend!
@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL Thanks for sharing your opinion!! I agree with you because Shimano CC has two more washers for stardrag parts, and spring seems shorter & stronger.😅 I found that dk100 has two types of stadrag. I guess only a few of dk100 manufactured with type One because it is difficult to find pictures or video, and I hope it does not have a similar issue.🥲
@ hey keun! Ah that’s an interesting observation! I had not noticed that but mine is the star drag that has much longer arms than the conquest has as well as a much longer handle. I’m not sure whether I like it or not but I do think they need to tune their star drag washer stack a bit better as only using one spring washer is not good imho. I would say the Airlite is overall a much lighter reel for one, build quality seems almost equal, casting wise I would say that the Airlite is likely able to handle higher weights better vs the dk100 which will be better for lower weights due to the difference in spool diameter. Iirc the Airlite is a 34mm diameter spool vs the 29.5mm of the dk100. Imho, the reels are fairly different and so really it boils down to what your needs are. I noticed the OG100 and airlite looked extremely similar frame wise and specs but can’t say too much on the inside. But thanks again I’m starting to lean toward the loongze now.
@ hey breezy! Yea, afaik loongze manufactures the reels for bates hence the similarity in looks. Internally, they should be the same with the major differences being branding, handles, handle knobs and maybe exterior finish. They should use the same exact brakes as well which… in my experience I wasn’t too fond of tbh. The rotor has 3 settings which imho is a bit of a pita to adjust. You really need to use your finger nail to kinda get in there and move the little tab. Outside of that the reel is made well. I did a full teardown and review of the airlite a while back. IF I had to choose between the dk100 and the airlite… I think I’d probably opt for the dk100 because 1. It’s much cheaper, 2. It’s much simpler to use and 3. It supposedly shares many parts with the 23’ conquest bfs. This might mean you can get Shimano replacement parts if the reel breaks or if you want to make upgrades. @@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL I'll look into the MIIEC reel. Thank you!
@ hey bosco! My pleasure! Cheers my friend!
and how much capacity for cast a big lures? maximum grams?thanks
Hey Manuel! I have not confirmed this but the manufacturer claims 1.5-15g lure weight range. I believe the reel can go down to 1g though. Hope that helps! Cheers my friend!
How much mono line does it hold?
@@bittabrutha31 hey bitta! Unfortunately, I am unsure as mono is never recommended for bfs reels. My apologies but if you are using mono I suggest maybe reconsidering and using PE with a leader instead. Cheers my friend!
That almost looks like a calcutta se without the svs or bfs with less clean machining. Please do a disassembly to see the difference
@@SketchbookGuitar hey sketch! The dk100 is a copy of the conquest bfs which is very similar to the SE. The bfs uses the ftb braking system which this reel also has a facsimile of. I will definitely do a teardown comparison video between the two reels. Cheers my friend!
@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL I don't have the bfs variant but I did get the SE. I can't wait for the teardown. I just want to see what they skimp on. I appreciate your hard work.
@ hey sketch! Haha yea I’m really interested to see what they’ve done with the innards as well! Cheers my friend!
Could you compare it to a loongze airlite?
@@BreeZy916z hey breezy! You mean the non dc b100 airlite? I would say the Airlite is overall a much lighter reel for one, build quality seems almost equal, casting wise I would say that the Airlite is likely able to handle higher weights better vs the dk100 which will be better for lower weights due to the difference in spool diameter. Iirc the Airlite is a 34mm diameter spool vs the 29.5mm of the dk100. Imho, the reels are fairly different and so really it boils down to what your needs are. What lure weights do you plan on casting Ooc? Cheers my friend!
@ thanks for replying/info and yes I meant the non dc b100. I couldn’t tell you and what lure weight i wanna to throw mainly trying to do some junk fishing so I guess a power bfs that can also throw abit more heavier if needed. But I was originally looking at the batesfishingco OG100 model and later found out that loongze was there manufacturing partner.
I will be doing a teardown comparison between the two reels soon… if I can manage to get over this cold that I just caught… lol… anywho, let me know if you have anymore questions and cheers my friend!
Will it hold up in saltwater???
@@bittabrutha31 hey bitta! It probably will but how long will depend on the amount of maintenance you can provide. Salt will always destroy metals and even the most corrosion resistant components will eventually succumb to oxidation. So… I would say I am not sure on the length of time as it highly depends on preparation and maintenance. Additionally, I do not believe the original conquest bfs was ever intended for salt use. Apologies… I wish I could give you a timeframe of sorts but I don’t think I can with this question. Cheers my friend!
For some reason this reel doesn't really excite me. Would take some good feedback over time to convince me to buy one.
@@yep.fishing hey Jacob! Yea I wasn’t really enthused about it at first but I see why so many folks are interested in the reel now. Someone nicknamed it the People’s Conquest but maybe it should be called the People’s Republic Conquest lol. Cheers my friend!
Kingdom Micro Monster Pro review when?
@@TBudgetAngler hey tbudget! I won’t be reviewing that specific reel but I have a nearly identical one that I will share soon. Cheers my friend!
I’ve got two of them and neither one of them had even line lay. I ended up returning them.
Did you hold your line tight when spooling? Some people on the page found a solution to it and it because they were holding their line too tight when spooling.
@@dbbfishing2528 hey dbb! I use a spooler and the line lay came out perfectly. Where did you purchase your dk100 reels from? There might be some truth to the whole statement by dankung saying that the aliexpress dk100 reels were never meant to be sold and did not go through quality control. Cheers my friend!
@@Zz-id5qp hey zz! My spooler doesn’t quite hold line tight or maybe it does but my line lay hasn’t been an issue. In fact, it was actually quite nice. I wonder if the units that people are buying from aliexpress might not have passed QC very well as dankung stated. I left a little blurb about it in the video description. Cheers my friend!
@@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL It is the proof that it is not the dankung reel.. they just ordered it. They dont know about pink or gold reel from ali. So not they check for the quality of this reel but manufacturer did. I have reel from ali and it spooled perfect with PE. Ithink the problem is the hands of the user)))))
@ hey Antin! Yea I am not sure and can’t verify either way… so just sharing what dankung stated. Just a potential hypothesis 🤷♂️. Cheers my friend!
Lol I just got up. Was up untill 3am

@@patrickhartman6818hey Patrick! Right on! Cheers my friend!
You already know I been using the poor people’s round reel. I thought you weren’t gonna get 1. Lucky, I paid full price 😂. Make them pay up a check for a review too. I agree the star drag, but I wanted to ask you what bearings you recommend? I haven’t oiled or greased my reel. I haven’t even opened it. I just focus on 🎣. Ima take it out to the ocean and see if I land a shark. And the silver feather elite too 😂.
@@HCBCHEMISTRY hey hcb! Haha I love that nickname for the reel but maybe it should be called “the people’s conquest”? lol. As far as getting stores/brands to outright pay me I don’t think I’m going to go that route. The reason being that it would make me feel like I owe them some favorable review. I don’t want to be beholden to any one specific brand or store as I want to bring unfiltered and unbiased information to people. I’m glad you’re putting the reel through some serious paces though! It’s a really good test to see how well it’ll hold up over time. I don’t know that I will be able to do the same with the reel and definitely not the conquest. Anywho, thanks for stopping by and cheers my friend!
@ the people conquest, haha good 1. I think most people starting would rather go for what they can and be happy parts are changeable . Me I don’t care as long as the reel don’t rust on me when I take it to the ocean. would make brands pay me to talk that good shhh about their products. You doing good on this channel. Can’t want to see if I ever get A third reel.
@@HCBCHEMISTRYhey hcb! I prefer not to take payments from brands directly as I want to remain as unbiased as possible. Just dont clone the weight too please. Knock 50gm off and you get yourself a almost perfect reel.
