Kakarot197 did talk about this in his high mobility type zaku 2 video a little bit about the zaku 2 he did also talk a little bit about the Gelgoog but still but in reality the Gelgoog was pretty powerful for its time. If you can push it to its limits it was invincible in the battlefield just piloted correctly and you are good but the zaku and the Gelgoog are just the same hell the pilots did say that the Gelgoog is just a zaku 2 HMT but in Gelgoog close 😅

I enjoyed your video VERY MUCH @Gundam Facts. Hopefully there will be a video of MS-14 Gelgoog Part 2, where we can learn about the rest of its variants, start to finish. Kind regards.
The Gelgoog, a mobile suit that had such little time to shine and was mostly piloted by rookies. Ironically, it was less successful than the MS it was supposed to replace, the Zaku. It would never get to see an actual successor to its name. Its spiritual successor, the guaiz, would also meet this fate by Zakus all because the writers wanted to cash on some nostalgia. The Gelgoog ii will never be.
@@spartana1116 Yeah, at least we got to see a Gelgoog beating up the Gundam team, while the Guaiz was practically treated like the GM ii, outdated by the start of the war.
What about the gelgoog vertex or red gelgoog? Are they not a successor to the venerable mobilesuit that has survived almost as long as all other remaining zeon based designs?
Hi Gundamfacts! Not sure if you are gonna read comments on a older video, but I was wondering if you could someday do a video on a lore and development of landships from original Mobile Suit Gundam. They were such an interesting concept of the first half of the show but they rarely if at all appear in the later UC stories so I would like to know what became of them. Thanks
Yeah other than the color scheme of the zaku 2 high mobility r3s type that would have been my preferred unit it's got almost everything the Gelgoog had but it just looks so much cooler but I would love it even more if it had the rifle and shoulders of the high mobility late type
I'm watching this video because I wanted to further play down a scenario I was inspired by Gundam vs Zeta Gundam where the White Base's Vote to Attack Char's Musai + the resupply ship instead ended in failure, and Char beat Amuro and they got more data on the Gundam and possibly other Operation V machines from it. Would that have sped up beam weapon capability for Zeon had they had access to the Gundam beam rifle and E-cap technology? Would they have produced a beam-capable Zaku HMT R-2 or something like it? But really the headscratcher after watching this is that the R-2P, R-2, R-3S, the UMT, and the YMS-14S all show up starting October of 0079, just a month and change after the Side 7 incident in September. That is some serious time compression considering how hard it probably is to prototype whole MS.
I think your comment at ua-cam.com/video/Uk7vHxj4f-U/v-deo.html is right, it is in principle a super Zaku. The Zaku was the main stay mobile suit, and the Gelgoog was to replace it. The major difference between the Zaku and the Gelgoog was that the Gelgoog had a different look and had better specs, but nothing else. EDIT: Some one pointed out that there is another big difference between the Zaku and the Gelgoog, which is that the Gelgoog could use beam weapons
And it could wield BEAM WEAPONRY, you know the type of weapons which could be only carried by battleships until Gundam came along? Edit: Ok I stand corected by the video.
That was actually a thing. In MSV-R, there is a R2 shown using a backpack connected Gelgoog's genetor as an external attachment. The thing is that there are two reasons why Abine/Albert likely proposed Zeonic the Escort Unit: - Energy dissipation seems to be a thing in this kind of systems. The R2 with the external attachment isn't able to fire real beam rifle shots, but just beam gun shots (like the R2P essentially), which is not bad for sniping but not great in general...and that's when using the generator of a MS which normally 100% support beam weapons (when installed in the chest). Considering the R2S needs to power up not a beam rifle but two high output beam cannons, I wouldn't be surprised if the Escort Unit has actually a generator output of 2000-2500kW, something rather dangerous if used as an external power source without frame. - the External attachment of the R2 totally fucks its high mobility features by essentially teethering it like an anchor. Granted, the Escort Unit does the same to the R2S but to a much lower extend, as the Escort Unit still has thrusters, vernier and some AMBAC, so it retains a semblance of mobility to ease the R2S job of having to move with it on its back.
My guess is that the Feds toyed with the Gelgoog line (Galbaldy Alpha) but ultimately cared more about quantity with reliable performance (GM/Zaku type) than high quality per unit. Anaheim proposed a cheap suit mixing GM and Zaku technology (Hizack then Marasai), which supported beam weaponry (which honestly represents most of the core assets of the Gelgoog) so they went along

Bro it's messed up to be advertising someone else's channel in the comments. You should be complimenting this channel. Not someone else's channel.
I like how the basic RGM-79 was still superior to every version of the Hi-Mo Zaku on paper.
No no, he's got a point...

When we saw an actual veteran pilot like Johnny Ridden or Anavel Gato use it we saw its true potential.
What about the big Gelgoog in F90
Honestly the guaiz like was treated more harshly then the gelgoog in the post war

Yes new video! Thanks! I love your stuff and share it all the time!
I'm glad you always take the time to enjoy our content! Especially when remembering you rather like Zeon OYW stuff
If only Zeon more focused only Dom and Gelgoog instead experimental MS.
Finally covering one of my favourite suits in the gundam series. Keep up the good work
Great video as always. Informative, well thought out and well edited.
When I think of Zeon, the first thing that comes mind is the Gelgoog!! 🔥
Not even the Zaku?

Your awesome dude and awesome video be safe out there big fan of gundam
As always, excellent video
Well you could take a Act Zaku and add both High mobility Zaku R2 legs and a Gelgoog backpack and get a rather funny higher mobility Act Zaku.
Do a collab with Kakarot197 since both of you know the most about Gundam on UA-cam!
Oh but we do play in different leagues sadly. Perhaps someday, but at least Zethythonix is a good friend of mine, we might pump something someday

Got clickbaited into thinking it was a Gelgoog video, still good though.
At least you got a solid intro for the Gelgoog, and the R3S and Prototype Gelgoog lore. That's a win for me

@@Adam-nc6qg We all make mistakes, well done on correcting yourself sir, not many people try to correct themselves and instead ignore their mistakes.
@@Adam-nc6qg You are right. The biggest difference would be that the Gelgoog could use beam weapons
It's cool how they use the Zaku as the base, the daddy of the Gelgoog.
Gelgoog is my favorite non Zaku from Zeon.
Origin Gelgoog would be an instabuy for me
When will you do the Zudah
Why didn't Zeonic give the r2's unit an atachable generator backpack instead of a literal bolting another mobile suit?

Thanks for responding, senpai :)
Great video, but damn the rollout dates are all finicky considering the rollouts are after the gelgood
Well how so? RP is February-April, R1 in May-June, R1A in July, R2, R2S, R3S and Gelgoog Prototype in October and Gelgoog in December

great reaction
What’s your take on why the EF built the Hizack based on the Zaku instead of the Gelgoog?

Can i ask something
Is Gerbera Tetra a model who developed from this suit?
Gerbera tetra is actually a disguised gundam gp04
So, no vortex.
That always leave the place for a ReGelg/Vertex video. Who knows...
