I've always loved the Gogg. Outside of the idea of a walking submarine being pretty cool, it was an absolute delight to use in the PS2-era Gundam games like Federation v. Zeon. With its lumbering gait and adorable belly laser - that was surprisingly powerful - it just has this charm to it.
There's so many UC Gundams shows that have all types of mobiles suits and its so amazing how much background information they've made throughout the years.
Another great video! I love the Gihren's Greed cut-scenes at the beginning, Blood of Zeon in particular gave us some of the best animated OYW content of that era.
Any mass produce mobile suit that can be used after few millenia later is very impresive. Zaku 2 and Capule are a testament of how great the Zeon Engineering is.
Always loved the Hygogg. From first playing it in Gundam Crossfire and seeing some of War in the Pocket's best scenes feature it the Hygogg is absolutely one of Zeon's coolest suits.
Zeon really shouldn't have made too many one off or limited production monoeye mobile suits that stretched their resources too thin as one of the catalysts of losing the One Year War.
There's gotta be some alternate universe where Hydro Test Type became something that resembled Goohn from SEED, because the resemblances are quite a lot.

Another thought - did the Earth have massive radiation contamination on top of everything else after the OYW and beyond? You know, with NUCLEAR powered machines exploding like fire crackers for a few decades? Bonus points for how hard you tried to work the Kapool in. XD

The thing with "Woge" is that yes, it technically only means "wave" but it does carry connotations of size. It's an old-fashioned word that you wouldn't use unless you were being deliberately dramatic.
I always loved using the Gogg in Gundam Federation vs Zeon as while the mega particle cannon didn't have much punch the torpedoes did and I had a much easier time than I did with the Z'Gogg.
i suspect Kapool is the Capule that underwent similar Miniaturization process that occurred during F90-F91 era. but since its an aquatic MS, its internal space was already streamlined. so what it gained was a more smaller reactor but equal power and space for propellant tanks that allowed it to work in space. who made these smaller Capule/Kapool? probably Bespa. but as with the OYW, there's probably divisions in Bespa/former SNRI. it would explain why there's the Shokew/rig Shokew vs the zolo, zoloat/tomliat and favoring the Zansacre design, they used those less reliable aquatic MS, Galguyu based on the Albigor.

Dont forget the Kapools were literally hanging on and working through literal hopes and dreams because they had no idea how to read the manual and work with the tech in Turn A when they were first deployed
so what im seeing is the irony that the HGBD Momokapool was likely based on the Capule which never had a model kit, let alone a HG, and not the Kapool, which did have one.
In GBO2, I use both the Zaku Marine Type and the Z'Gok and Z'Gok E as my preferred marine type MS. Quite powerful MS. Unfortunately, players have learned to take advantage of the Z'Gok and Z'Gok E's reliance on heavy melee combat and end up taking them out with ease. The same is applied to the Gogg as well. Fortunately the Hy'Gogg and the Zaku Marine Type are versatile enough to overcome this easily exploited weakness. This weakness is why I don't often use the standard Gouf. GBO2's combat has evolved in the game and not just because newer suits have come along to make some suits with certain roles as obsolete...but the way players battle as well. An MS's versatility has become crucial now and the players adapting the constant shifts of the matches which has always been a factor but its even more so now than ever.
it actually would be possible to depth test a gogg on a colony they wouldnt need deep water all they would need is a pressure tank large enough for the ms and a pump to pump it up to simulate deep depths

Z'Gok E and Hygogg are both incredible designs and among my favorites.
You get a like solely based on the merit of listing the Gm Cold District type as a special equipment shield for the Hygogg you legend.
