#Gundam #Zaku - Розваги
And we’re back with the correctly rendered version.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
I delayed work on this video because I first wanted to get a manga in which an obscure Recon-type variant appears, only to then drop the Recon-types from the video.
So we’re still not done with the Zakus lol.
Dang i was about to click the thumbnail the first time
Gm development history when
Thr deleted version got recommended to me lol
I would also like to mention how the The Gelgoog Prototype Zaku unit appears to have head and wrist mounted Vulcans, if you find any sources that mention these I would hope to hear it mentioned in the eventual Gelgoog Devolopement History video.
Hizacks should be included in the Zaku line development history since it is, all tense and purposes, a Zaku and its plans were originally in the hands of Zeon before the Titans took them and ended up producing it for their own uses. I believe the Hizack was originally gonna be the "original" Zaku III before Neo Zeon developed the Zaku III we all know and love.
I love Johnny getting absolsutely outraged that him showing up in a battle leads to "RUN IT'S CHAR" on Feddie comms
Why didn't he change his mobile suit colors?
@SHAHNMONO Yet he's aware that he's constantly mistaken for Char the Red Comet.
How can he get his wish if he didn't do something about it?
@SHAHNMONO All he needed was a good accent collor.
Splash on some gold or silver man!
@@kazekamiha Or he could have simply chosen another bright base colour. But nah, let's stick with the colour one of the most famous Zeon pilot uses and get pissed when you're mistaken for him.
@@vahlen5281 Johnny doing the stereotype of dumb blonde in a nutshell.
Zeon: hey that MS is working pretty well, let's make a High Mobility version
Federation: Hey that MS is working pretty well, let's make a Full Armor version
Zeon: hey that MS is working pretty well, I know let's make an angry shark face that shoots lasers and has scythes instead of investing more into consistent MS designs
also Zeon: how are we losing
Zeon and the federation pretty much started out on opposite ends, the gundam was very agile with light armor so that was already figured out
@@bntrs that armor was also very durable
@@bntrs gundam was borderline bulletproof
Also the Federation: Hey, that MS is working pretty well, let's strap a million guns to it.

Bruh this is the best comment I read in awhile. And yea Engineeer 1 does have a point.
That full bullet Zaku with that Heat Hawk commander antenna has to be the most G Gundam shit I've ever seen in the OYW
Whatever works, works.
Laughs 3x harder in Char's High Mobility Zaku
When Char "I've betrayed anyone in my life" cheats with the Gelgoog and Zeong instead of taking an Zaku II R-2.
@@tatsuyah4695 To betray someone, first you have to actually be on their side.
I think that technically makes Char the top Federation Ace, with a metric ass-tonne of teamkills?
So the plan B in case the Gelgoog took too long to come out would be to turn a Zaku into the Alteisen from the Super Robot Wars franchise? That would have been one badass Zaku to run into.
Just imagine if they pulled something like that but on the zaku III, it would be a monster
Ironically the same mecha designer Kunio Okawara design both of them (including the of Gespensts and family pre-OGG)
@@MaxHDAvenger That's quite interesting to know.
Gelgoog took too long to produce. Let stuff the complicated stuff inside Zaku, redesigning the chest and backpack in the process. It would be quicker, right?
The Gundam series, where the grunts can be admired more Than the main character of the story.
Oh god! I absolutely love the idea of a Zaku being outfitted with a heat hawk antenna just for the sheer metal image of one just head butting a GM head in half. Oh how I wish that I could draw something that detailed!
Never knew how much I needed Dozle's High Mobility Zaku until I saw that art.
MG Psycho Zaku is great because it has all the MG zaku parts combined
"Red Goes Fasta!" - Orks from Warhammer 40k
The Zaku II revolutionized the way the Universal Century will fight for years to come, and it all started with this cyclops of a war machine.
Hey, found the video in your playlist but it’s nowhere else to be found thanks for reuploading
In Megas XLR, Evil Coop pilots a red war mech that resembles Sazabi and his army of white drones looked like Zakus with red GN particle rifles.
I miss that show. Shame they canceled it in the face of excellent ratings
@@GeebusCrust CN getting rid of it as a tax writeoff is a travesty
Mentions development histories for the Dom and Gelgoog.
Still awaiting on the one for the Gouf...
I absolutely love these detailed development history videos, my favorite series of yours. This kind of nitty gritty detail really brings the setting to life for me, thank you for always making such a thorough job of it!
Can't wait for the Gelgoog and Dom development history videos 🙌
I enjoy this video. Can't wait for the next one about reconnaissance MS units, Dom/Rick Dom, or Gelgoog
I honestly thought you were going to mention the Act Zaku as soon as you started talking about the beam weapon requirement. Any chance you’ll do a video on MSX?
I do kind of think that, even if the High Mobility Zaku family didn't have as many issues as it did, it might not have ultimately made a huge difference in the outcome of the war. That's a LOT of machine, and if a pilot can't get the most out of it, the benefits versus a regular Zaku II may have been minimal, sort of like someone driving a high powered sports car on city roads and obeying traffic laws.
Kinda suprised we didn't see the psycho zaku in this since it's technically a supped up R2
Thunderbolt is an alternate universe of the UC timeline
@@GojiraFan-in9oo true but would it at least count as a honorable mention?
You know what I think would be interesting? A video detailing the overall MS development timeline for Zeon and/or the Federation throughout the war. It's a pretty interesting topic to me, but of I have a hard time visualizing myself, so it would be awesome to see be done by someone who clearly does way more research than I do.
He doesn't have a million years for the amount of stuff he'd have to cover.
Not saying I don't agree with you, I totally do, but there's so much stuff that's been retcon'd in via side-stories and MSV and such.
@@matohibiki Imagine having to also color code it by source.
Development History: the Flagg Series from Gundam OO?
Always love to see see a new Kakarot197 video in my feed
lol i view the other video when i was exhaust in the bed, first the changing of color and second the bad render i was thinking that was going insane.
The zaku high mobility type reminds me of the me-262 jet fighter. A revolutionary high performance machine but also plagued with engine problems
Always love to se the history of a mobile suit. Is there a change u make a video where you take two random mobile suit and go over there builds and see witch one would win in a one on one fight
"This is no Dom, Amuro! No Dom!" - Char probably
Wasn't the Psycho Zaku related to the High Mobility type? Even if thunderbolt is an alt timeline
Thunderbolt wasnt an alternative timeline. It was an event that occurred inside the original MSG anime much like 8th MS Team.
@@LagunaShirogane I dont mean Alternative timeline like an AU
I mean an alternate UC compared to the main anime, since many parts of it directly conflict 0079-Zeta (most notably the Delta Gundam actually existing)
@Babieca the great Something like that could occur even in real life due to conflicting reports by some people. But what is agreed upon that it did happen. Its probably the case with this if you think on the lines as if you were a character in the shows. Its how I look at it.
I can't get enough of these history videos...some delv into just the history of the u.c world but no one makes history of ms suit lines like this
Zaku II High Mobility= Gotta Go Fast. Spin Dash sold separately.
Thank you so much for your video. I love the many, many variants of the Zaku 2, but I always get them confused with their serial numbers and individual variants. You've laid this one out in a very clear way that got me to wrap my mind around it for good. Great job!
I think a third Mobile Suit was fitted with the liquid-explosive injector used for the Giant Bazooka: the MS-08TX Efreet.
Ah yes Char Aznable the crimson lightning
My favorite quote from encounters in space
The giant bazooka using liquid ammunition seems pretty weird, as well as it being only compatible with the HM type and dom variants. We had countless scenes showing it being used by goufs and even gelgoogs. It wouldn't surprise me if they used the same refueling system but that seemed oddly specific.
never forget to universal answer to cannon disagreement to all things gundam; variant model.
maybe it is some sort of cooling mechanism to cool down the weapon
@@mephosto I'd imagine the goufs would have to be modified, since the regular version already has to have its arms swapped out to handle non-gouf weapons anyways.
As the franchise goes on, the biggest problem really seems to be that it was a "One Year War." All of the resources and development time for every EFSF/Zeon MS, MA, weapon, ship, and so on just doesn't fit within the setting. In personal head canon, the war would take much longer.
On the other hand, maybe thinking that critically is too similar to looking at 2005's Need for Speed Most Wanted and asking what city would have hundreds of police vehicles, have them all destroyed, lose millions to property damage, and NOT call in the National Guard to just shoot the main character's car? How about with the nose gun on an attack helicopter?
Every new Zaku vid always gets me geared up for the next ones
What about the Zaku High Mobility Ground types? Its been a while since I watched the zaku ground types video so it may have been in there. I don't use them much in battle operation 2 but i played through code fairy, so i used Alma's unit quite a bit (i doubt code fairy would ever be canon because few video games are and especially because they singled out the Pixy Gundam as non-canon years ago and then they gave Lilith one).
Id loved the shows since I was a young teenager im happy someone finally came along thats finally doing videos on Gundam thank u.
I'm watching this while working on my own Zaku-inspired mech in Blender, and I've got a Psycho Zaku atop my speakers on my desk.
Alt Zaku must be cannon. I can't let such an overloaded machine not exist in my timeline.
I was looking up Psycho Zaku from Thunder, but was it built with some High Mobility Zaku parts or did it actually have the High Mobility Zaku as a base?
From the outside, it does seem to be built from the foundation of the high mobility type r2
Watching this expecting the Zaku II RD-4 (8th ms team) to show up, forgetting that was a dom prototype test version.
Awesome video!! I find it crazy the amount of different type of mobile suit that was created during the one year war.
the Full Bullet Zaku with its head mounted Heat Hawk is basically "a headbutt to the enemy is an effective tactic" logic, lol.
love your development history vids.
Yeah, this Zaku has good performance can be pushed to it's limits with a good pilot. I'm playing through Gihren's Greed: Threat of Axis and dang, these are expensive to produce.
Hell fuckin yeah Full Bullet Zaku, let's go. Forehead heat hawk, headbutt of death.
Big SRW Altiesen vibes
*Sees thumbnail.* A red mobile suit?! It's Johnny Ridden the Crimson Lightning!
This series is amazing and just gets better. I would love to see one the Goufs or Z'goks. Keep up the great work
Man I'm loveing these videos keep it up!
Can't wait for the Dom and Gelgoog history videos, learning more about the mainline suits is always interesting and usually gives some insight into some lesser known prototype suits.
Babe wake up new kakarot197 development history video
I have a question, and I don't know if it has already been answered: What was Zeon's most obscure MS they developed that never actually saw battle or was planned but never built?
My answer would be the Great Zeong. It was supposed to be Zeon's magnum opus, but they couldn't build it due to either a lack of resources/technology developed. It's a shame though. It's successors, Queen Mansa and Kshatrya, are among the coolest mobile suits in design. It could've joined them with it's great design.
I'd say the Zaku II Propellant Unit. It was a modified Zaku II with extra propellant tanks, which was done to potentially extend the unit's operational range. The design was flawed in such a way that the fuel tanks vibrated a lot during the test runs, which eventually caused them to explode. Needless to say, they never made any more of them after that.
I think the pycho zaku uses a r2 in its creation
19:35 so the Full Bullet is basically the Alteisen without the Stake/Bunker and a single Claymore
another banger vid. so when are we getting the zeta development history?
This video was damn good. Full of just neat little tidbits of info. One of my favorite suits for zeon.
Zaku designs: Beautiful, thought of the pilot, the design functionality and tried their best to make the units effective
GM designs: New trash, different receptacle, but hey, if we through enough units at our enemy, they can't move from all the body parts on the field while "leadership" just watches. Feddie propagandists will still say the Federation still has their grunts best interests in mind
Figure I'd finally leave a comment 😂 I love what you do bringing us like the full lore of each Mobile suit from each era you make a video on. Its incredible ! Idk much about gundam but bruh you're like my go to Encyclopedia. Keep giving us this fantastic content!
That portrait in the beginning was beautiful lol. Had to take a second to make sure it wasn’t Nurgal Space Chaos Marines.
Good mate..keep it up!
As much "freedom" to the zaku as they could XD Haha, I love that instead of bullet
MA-05 Bigro history perhaps? I got MS-06R2 Ridden with my MSIA MA-05 Bigro. Admire the R1 more but it has an honorable place in my heart.
Love the bit about it being an "extremely expensive unit" being illustrated with p-Bandai box art :P.
When you have 4 of all shown Zaku 2 models, absolute bliss! I just wish, i could get my hands on the other Ace pilots and Variants aswell.
Hey Kakarot197 are you ever going to do Development History for the Dom? The Dom is my most favorite Zeon Suit and I fell deeply in love of these Suits in the Game Zeonic Front.
I know this is not in the UC timeline, but could you not put the Zaku 2 High Mobility Type Reuse "P" Device from Gundam Thunderbolt?
Aw man…I thought I was a huge Gundam nerd, but you’re talking about production dates and stuff. Hi five man.
I've never heard about the 360mm giant bazooka needing liquid explosive fed from the mobile suit, that makes me wonder about a few things. The High Mobility Zaku and obviously the Dom are confirmed users of that weapon system. However, there is an animated cutscene in Journey to Jaburo on PS2 that clearly shows a Gouf using a giant bazooka during the attack on Jaburo. So does that mean the Gouf is also compatible with that system? Or did the lore for the giant bazooka even exist when that game was made?
Mannnn still can’t wait for the Gelgoog history video
Oh hey cool, Kakarot did a video on my favorite suit series!
*Notices that it's over 25 minutes long*
HOLY-
LETS GOOOOOO
Edit: Also, 4:05 is peak Zeon engineering/WWII Germany allegory, I love-hate it.
15:08 Aaand every engineeer who hears these words instantly cringes at the inevitable production/cost consequences of such a design choice.
Interesting you didn't mention at all psycho zaku, I not it's not canon canon, but would have been cool
Hang on, when did Anavel Gato pilot a Zaku 2 R-A1? We only saw him in a Gelgoog during the battle of A.B.A.Q. when he got shot and tried to switch to a Dom. (Stardust 0083)
You forgot the Robin Bradshaw R1-A variant from Mobile Suit Gundam Spirits of Zeon Dual Stars of Carnage game. He was Kurt Roswell's wingman And had a custom Blue R1-A.
1:48 The Char Zaku's max weight is only 13.2 tons heavier than the Abrams. While the Abrams is one of the heaviest modern tanks, I highly doubt that the Zaku with its 'Super Hard Steel Alloy' armour, a shield that is likely to weigh some 5 tonnes if not more and all its weapons, ammo and fuel can be lightee than ~100 tonnes.
14:50, so what was the materials used in armoring the legs if not the harden steel typical of Zeon suits?
Funny that the GM on paper was much better than the HiMo types in terms of acceleration. Goes to show how good the GMs were despite how poorly they fared in animation.
seeing these mobile suits in Gundam Seed Destiny must have been an interested surprise. Along with the DOM

I'm excited for the Dom & Rick Dom development history!
Anavel Gato is one of the best Zeonic ace out there, everyone calls him as The Nightmare of Solomon.
You mentioned the Full Bullet but not the Perfect Zaku?
I got an idea for a video: “What if Valkyrie succeeded in killing Gihren Zabi?”
I have a question. What makes a Gundam a Gundam. I don't think it's the "power" of the suit since we can see the GM Sniper II being better then the RX-78-2. An other exemple would be the GM Ground and the Gundam Ground. Both are pretty much the same machine except the look of the head. Anyway would could tell me?
Most gundams after the oyw are high-performance one-off machines that take their appearance from the RX-78-2 mostly out of how famous it was and the psychological effect the gundam had.
Usually a "Gundam" is, when it all comes down to it, whatever is literally called a "Gundam". Performance doesn't really matter.
Ah, the Zaku HMT!
My favorite Zaku variant!
What is that instrumental he uses at 4:50? I've not been able to find it
ROUND 2! \o/
Yay, it's back!
The Kurt Russel custom kind of looks like the Ground High-Mobility type.
I can't wait for the Jegan Development history
But what about the High Mo ground type? There's 2, one in GBO2 and in Code Fairy, are they just non cannon or what? What's going on there? It basically falls during Zeonic front timeline since they mention Garret and the Midnight Fenrir team (code fairy)
my 2nd favorite one year war mobile suit
I didn't know the R2s were Gelgoogs internally.
it goosebumps me when i was watched first upload this video that has ghost stuttering render.
The HiMo R-2/"Late Type" has REALLY strong grenades in GBO2.
Pretty sure they can dp around 4000 damage, which is beam rifle damage.
I'm waiting for you to do the Dreaded MS-07 Gouf
What about the MS-06GD Zaku High Mobility Type (Surface Type) from Cucuruz Doan's Island?
More Zakus yee. Have you seen, or plan to cover animes from Super robot wars, ie Sword x Gun, The Big O
