@@somthingsquishy on break pads that aren’t ceramic . They leave a lot of dust behind. Has nothing to do with the rim per say more so as a rim that’s been used with non ceramic break pads for a long time
Loving the incredibly thoughtful and well spoken comments I've gotten on here. I had no idea posting an innocent tiktok would trigger so many people haha
You spray the cleaner first usually cause it the wheels wet and you apply the cleaner it’s gonna make the cleaner dilute into the water rather than full strength onto the wheel but both methods work
Actually, it's not rust and it's not melting it. It's chemically reacting to the iron in the brake dust and braking it down to remove it from the rim (and changing color helps signify the process's occurance.)
The thing about iron removers is that people use them willy nilly on wheels and wheels cleaners all the time. Yet they forget that the brake rotors are literally iron and yoi are slowly causing pitting and excessive corrosion because you want it to "look purple"
I personally would’ve applied the first coat of wheel cleaner. Let it dwell, then rinse it. Then use agitation on the second coating of wheel cleaner. That way any of the loose dirt the first coat loosened won’t be rubbed across the wheel. Yes, I’m sure the wheel cleaner “emulsified” dirt, but it eases my mind to know that I’m not rubbing a dirt/brake dust filled brush against my wheels
Clear coated doesn't mean it's bulletproof. Just like car paint the clear coat will get swirls and the finish will end up looking dull and hazy. What he suggests is common practice for your cars paint, why would the wheels be any different?
No, I am Saudi living in Saudi Arabia, and in my city makkah (حمدالله), which is hottest place on earth, it doesn't dry as ur saying unless you leave it for 2 minutes
@@theunknownguy265 I live half am hour from death valley (the actual hottest place on earth) where there is no moisture in the air. So yes, it does dry that fast
Oven cleaner worked great on mine ...Stays a bit longer because it foams up, just sprayed and spread it evenly waited a few minutes and rinsed it off. Did a nice job about the same as this stuff.
A few years back I bought a used Ford expedition that was in pretty good shape all except the rims. I tried just using regular products to clean the wheels and they did not come clean at all. Since I don't drive it all the time I haven't messed with the rims since. After seeing all these UA-cam videos and talking to some of the people who make the products I'm looking forward to testing these out for myself if spring ever stays around long enough for me to drag out the hose. Even if it didn't come off as easy as it had in this video as long as it works with a little scrubbing I can live with that. It's almost like it's part of the wheel now. I was going to go to the complete opposite end of the spectrum as far as dealing with it. I was going to throw them into my blast cabinet and then repaint them. I'm willing to give this product a chance to save me from all that work.
... dont do this. Use a degreaser first, let it soak for a minute or two. Blast that off. Then do this. Clean as much of the dirt off before you got in with your brushes, else you end up damaging your wheels with scratches
anyone reading this i want to let you know that i bought this exact product at candian tire for the same price as other brands and when i used it it works way better than any other product i bought for wheels just letting you know
For brake dust (lung cancer caused by it), I use Soilove, available in small containers at 0.99 stores for a buck or by the gallon. Will do your work easier and cheaper
Actually this product works by creating a chemical reaction with the brake dust, so if you spray your wheels first the water in between the wheel and the product will stop it from working as well. Think of this as a more effective pre rinse
The clean rims have simply been sprayed with something water soluble that washes off easy... NEVER forget folks, if it looks to good to be true then you would be correct! 👍🏼😃
Literally any cheap wheel cleaner works like this. Spray the tires face as well and run a brush over it, hose everything off and throw some tire shine on it.
How strong is that wheel cleaner? Looked like it cleaned the bronze finish off the wheel. (nvm that's dirt, although the bronze-ish color looked better)
Yes, use wheel cleaner to clean wheels... who'd have thought? In all seriousness, I've done the same and it can be a pain in the backside if it has been left to sit for a good few years
one of my rims are bronze like that cuz of the disc . But it aint going away from some tire sprinkle water for sure! i gotta use some kind of iron brush to get that shit clean
@@manuelpiston so you don’t get all that brake dust on your wheels in the first place. I used to have to clean my Z4 wheels constantly. After installing ceramic brake pads they always look nice.
@@kenjohnson6365 but ceramic breaks need to be at a higher temperature for them to work at its best. And I don't think you want that for a daily driver. It might have worked for you because is a z4 and you probably drove it a little hard. The oem brakes would do better. And if you want really good performance you would have to get I higher temperature break fluid and medal braided break lines to decrease the expansion while breaking hard. Ceramic breaks also make a lot of noice. Are a little more experience. Your break rotors will wear out faster. Soooo if you ceramic coat your wheels with the oem brakes that actually stop better for a daily driver, you will be able to clean it faster with just a pressure washer no cleaner. I use to think the same way about them.
What do you think happens to the bird poop, mildew, dead mice etc tainted rain water that washes from every single persons home/gutter system? It goes to the exact same drain....
the bronze from the dirt looked better than alloy
Right? Looks way cooler lol
I love bronze wheels. Ima roll through some muddy puddles to get that look 😂
@@christopherpaez4948 and then just wash the rubber tires😂😂

I wanna see how it reacts to a older vehicles rim with brake dust that doesn't just wipe off with a rag...
What kind of older rim?
Anything that can't be scrubbed off with a brush and soap.
@@somthingsquishy on break pads that aren’t ceramic . They leave a lot of dust behind. Has nothing to do with the rim per say more so as a rim that’s been used with non ceramic break pads for a long time
Or the rust when you grind a rotor
Takes 2 sprays to get it off, pain in the buty
Step 1: clean 'em
Step 2: that's pretty much it
How to basic does not approve: not too much eggs
The only reason it works is cause it's clear coated duh!! 😂

This whole time I thought the wheel was gold or bronze
Same
Loving the incredibly thoughtful and well spoken comments I've gotten on here. I had no idea posting an innocent tiktok would trigger so many people haha
Hay wat is the name of the stuffed you used buddy
Welcome to UA-cam shorts - where UA-cam becomes the most critical commenters ever.
Tiktok is not innocent
Tiktok is crime
“Innocent” and “TikTok” does not go together
I love Adams Wheel Cleaner, cuts my time in half on cleaning
I thought the bronze was supposed to be the color of the rim 😂😂
I probably just watch that about 8 or 9 times....
Was quite satisfying
You better check them brake pads too, that looks like brake dust
I thought the rim was actually a bronze color lol
It’s either a dodge Journey, a dart, or a dodge mini van
It looks like a journey to me. My sister has one and it’s on the same wheels
and wheel size suspension looks way to big for a sedan like the dodge dart
Thats not a wheel cleaner at all, its a fall out remover that will react with the iron particles from brake dust
The product is literally called Adam's Wheel Cleaner. It does have fallout remover in it.
@@DiamondAutoCare wasnt directly aimed at you mate just incorrectly labelled
Bro if they responded to your comment. It’s shady. If you ain’t got something to defend then you wouldn’t bother.
@@jamescooper5437 tf is that logic?
Power wash dirt, dust, debris from wheel before sprayng with wheel cleaner.
You spray the cleaner first usually cause it the wheels wet and you apply the cleaner it’s gonna make the cleaner dilute into the water rather than full strength onto the wheel but both methods work
The cheaper option is to get purple power, it’s like 3 dollars a bottle and it’s got more in it and works just the same
Guy..you forgot to clean the inside of the wheels too 😂
Hard to clean without taking the wheel off completely
@@Kwalk8808not really, get a small scrub that fits in those small spaces
Speed up literally sounds like cyberpunk
Yall talking about bronze but what about how the cleaner melts the rust down into basically blood
Actually, it's not rust and it's not melting it. It's chemically reacting to the iron in the brake dust and braking it down to remove it from the rim (and changing color helps signify the process's occurance.)
“That’ll be 79.97”
Now this is a quality tik tok 👍
Nice Wheel Cleaning
The thing about iron removers is that people use them willy nilly on wheels and wheels cleaners all the time. Yet they forget that the brake rotors are literally iron and yoi are slowly causing pitting and excessive corrosion because you want it to "look purple"
I came here to write the exact same comment. Everyone, listen to this guy. Don't spray iron removers on your rotors, its an amateur move.
Don't matter cause the only reason it works is cause it's clear coated duh!!
Clear coated doesn't mean it's bulletproof. Just like car paint the clear coat will get swirls and the finish will end up looking dull and hazy. What he suggests is common practice for your cars paint, why would the wheels be any different?
I tried using that spray in the desert. It dries before it even gets to the wheel
Why do you live in A desert
wobbuffet why not
No, I am Saudi living in Saudi Arabia, and in my city makkah (حمدالله), which is hottest place on earth, it doesn't dry as ur saying unless you leave it for 2 minutes
@@theunknownguy265 I live half am hour from death valley (the actual hottest place on earth) where there is no moisture in the air. So yes, it does dry that fast
Before you click on the shorts it looked like it was blood on the rims lmao
Thank you for not putting obnoxious music on your video 😌
how do you let yo wheels get that dirty
Damn I need some of that!
The brake dust on my rims are permanent I swear
You would need a wheel acid to remove baked on brake dust
@@matthewdoyle8644 it probably would however has to be done right or your rims are screwed and it’s pretty dangerous stuff
@@daz1018 Yep you have to know what your doing.
Next time buy ceramic brake pads. They won't give off brake dust
Of course its just dirt and dust all together. Soap & water would be just fine.
It’s brake caliper dust, soap and water does work but over time it can buildup and that’s when you usually need a cleaner like this
... dont do this. Use a degreaser first, let it soak for a minute or two. Blast that off. Then do this.
Clean as much of the dirt off before you got in with your brushes, else you end up damaging your wheels with scratches
Pressure wash the car first 🤦🏻♂️ your cleaning the dirt ontop of the rims that are loose and rubbing in dirt for more scratches
Wheels not rims 😂
@@jorgevlogs2884 rims and wheels?
That’s what I said. Just about the rims and wheels tho. I always do a pre rinse on every vehicle before I get to the cleaning and soaping portions.
Wheels* idiot
its everybody in the comments liking the “bronze”
That doesn't look quick, that was just normal
So its the AGITATION that cleans it the chemical is just there like the WATER to help rinse it away.
Magic eraser works well too.
Thanks God for not throwing some cheap music 🤙🏼🙏🤗
anyone reading this i want to let you know that i bought this exact product at candian tire for the same price as other brands and when i used it it works way better than any other product i bought for wheels just letting you know
Love gold and bronze looking wheels, reminds me of the Subaru STI
I’ve stopped using these types of wheel cleaners, they work very well but they cause brake components to flash rust after they dry off
For brake dust (lung cancer caused by it), I use Soilove, available in small containers at 0.99 stores for a buck or by the gallon. Will do your work easier and cheaper
Quick wheel cleaning speeds up footage by 500%
i hate when there isn’t a pre rinse involved
Actually this product works by creating a chemical reaction with the brake dust, so if you spray your wheels first the water in between the wheel and the product will stop it from working as well. Think of this as a more effective pre rinse
Bingo! As long as the wheel isn't hot this is a non issue that UA-cam detailers love to complain about
Very satisfying.
So satisfying
Deserved a like
I like bronze look and the bleeding looking better than the alloy
The clean rims have simply been sprayed with something water soluble that washes off easy... NEVER forget folks, if it looks to good to be true then you would be correct! 👍🏼😃
Don’t forget the tyres and inside drum of the wheel, good stuff tho 👍🏻
Adams makes wonderful shit! I washed my car in full sunlight with the Adams rep. Best wash it ever had (to that point) I bought the entire system👍🏻
Feel relaxed in watching this video 😍😍
My secret is lysol toilet bowl cleaner the purple bottle works amazing and fast for cleaning rims.
Fallout remover only removes iron deposits, a dedicated wheel cleaner should also be used.
It’s really strong product called iron x it works reall good on rust
lol i thought it was temperature changing paint
Real talk tho, that broNze with the Purple would look dope
Nice clean brake rotor
That is a ridicilous amount of brake dust. Is the brake pads made from printing paper? 😂
Owner be like: 🤦🤦 can I get that bronze colour back tho 😂😂😂
I just used that stuff and it was awesome
How did he come to that solution?! using wheel cleaner as a wheel cleaner. Who would've thought 😅 video doesn't disappoint at all 😂
Yes, use wheel cleaner to clean wheels... who'd have thought?
In all seriousness, I've done the same and it can be a pain in the backside if it has been left to sit for a good few years
I thought those were gold/bronze rims. Nice clean!
Don’t forget to clean the tires also!
If I have to scrub it I can use anything. I want to spray and rinse. NO SCRUBBING
I still miss my Dodge Dart sometimes
Never rub in an iron solution. Rinse off and use a foam coat to loosen the dirt with a detail brush!
That's better than the 2 hour over priced job. It will be dirty in 20 miles.
But does it stain the driveway
Side note he's just using purple Power does the same thing trust me I know
Window cleaner to clean the car it protects the clear coat even on rims.
Brushing the brakedust onto the wheel surface. Pro move i'd say 👌
That's a huge difference between birty and clean, car wheel.
The shock I just received upon finding out that the rim was silver and not a bronze color
I like how the tire is flat
That rim is more brighter than my entire future
Rinse first much easier & you're not grinding in as much muck on the detergent process.
You forgot the entire barrel of the wheel.
Wow wasn't expecting that
Could always use a rag and Meguiars Quick Detailer, works like a charm
but how you try using guitar hero app....
more better cool haha lol..
me kidding
one of my rims are bronze like that cuz of the disc . But it aint going away from some tire sprinkle water for sure! i gotta use some kind of iron brush to get that shit clean
That’s a big ass rotor and brakes
I thought that were gold rims😂😂😂😂
My OCD: *Spray more than that*
Looks like melt away specialty dust for wheel cleaning adds, should have put some magic dust on the runberp
I didn't see the curb rash at the start. Good job! Now the other three...
I think I'm the only smart one here I already knew the real color is silver
Might want to get some ceramic brake pads.
Why?
Who else here though the tires were actually bronze🤣
They tens but I keep them clean
Never use that while wheels is hot
It’s too strong for metal
Huh
Car looks like a hellcat
Brake dust is real 😂
That looks squeaky clean!
Yay for brake dust in water supply. That shit tastes great and the fish love it too ya dig
What do you think happens to the bird poop, mildew, dead mice etc tainted rain water that washes from every single persons home/gutter system? It goes to the exact same drain....
I mean brake dust gets on the road too. Rain washes it away and boom
Cry about global warming is a myth they brainwashing gullible people like u
he said guess the car, Either a hell cat or a challenger
I thought that's a bronze
Looking more pog than the alloy
