Appreciate the information about cleaning brushes in linseed oil. I’ve been using turpentine, so I’m going to change immediately!

Umber is not a city but stands for an Italian word : Ombra . Ombra means shadow. In Italy we call Burnt umber , terra d’ombra bruciata and the right translation is : burnt earth of shadow

It actually originally came from Umbria, in Italy. She said Umber instead of Umbria, but she's not wrong.

Great job! I have painted my entire life, or at least with oils since I was 12, and this was a wonderful intro to supplies!

Great video, thank you for sharing information about your techniques and equipment. Out of curiosity, what's the reason for the coloured tape on your brushes? Is it to help you keep track of the good ones?

I understand that you advocate for Trekell brushes, but I’d appreciate knowing if you have any experience using black sable bright brushes. I live in Thailand, and importing Trekell brushes isn’t quite feasible due to the exorbitant customs duties. However, German daVinci brushes are relatively inexpensive.

Any brands of brush is fine if it works for you. I like Trekell a lot, I used them after winning some in a prize pack and since then I still find they work best for me. The brand Princeton also has some good ones as I know other people love Rosemary brushes as well
