  • They said it shouldn't be done. Or maybe it couldn't be done...
    I didn't listen.
    This is my second attempt at Kratky method hydroponic potatoes. No grow media or electricity was used. The video may amuse you, but perhaps something similar to this setup could grow large amounts of disease free potatoes.
    Data on dangers of green potatoes taken from cropwatch.unl.edu/potato/greening
    Nutrient Recipe
    2g MasterBlend Tomato 4-18-38
    2g Calcium Nitrate
    1g Epsom Salt
    1 Gallon or 3.8 Liters hose water
    Filmed on an iPhone6
    Edited with iMovie 10.1.5
    Voiceover recorded on a Blue Snowball ICE
    Music from Stravinsky's Rite of Spring

      I feel like im watching a crazy scientist that doesnt seem quite insane at first glance but has that vibe that something isnt right. Then you get to know him and he tells you his secrets. At first youre scared but the promise of becoming a god was too juicy. You become his apprentice and learn his way. You slowly realize that this truly is the only way for humans to achieve ascension. The day has come, today the experiment you have been perfecting for years with Jeb is finally going to be tested. You know the consequences but you have already realized that this is the only way, you will sacrifice yourself for the human race to finally evolve into celestial beings, too pure for comprehension. Jeb, truly the last hope for humanity tries to hide his sorrow for he is going to lose his only friend he ever had. The one that believed in him. But theres no turning back. Preperations are done. You and Jeb has said your final goodbyes and this is it. Jeb starts the trillion dollar machine funded by the underground massive cocaine bussiness. You feel the air getting denser, out the windows you can see thunder starting to form. The become bigger and shakes the surroundings horribly. People are screaming in terror nearby, and you yell to Jeb
      "WE HAVE TO PUT IT TO MAXIUMUN OVERDRIVE"
      Jeb responds:
      "ITS TOO RISKY MY FRIEND, WE SHOULDNT RUSH."
      But even Jeb felt horrible as the sky throws even more thunder towards our mortal world.
      Jeb start pushing the lever even harder while simultaniously controlling and managing every small detail to achieve the perfect results. Jeb screams, trying to be louder than the rumble of the earths crust starting to twist and rumble.
      "WE'RE ALMOST THERE MY FRIEND HANG ON"
      You feel it creeping up on you, this sensation, its not unpleasant but it hurts. You start to feel salvation. But the pain is too much. You answer Jeb.
      "LETS DO IT JEB, TOGETHER WE WILL SAVE HUMANITY"
      in the same moment, those few minutes felt like hours. But now.. you feel it all go to slow motion. The machine is glowing red from all the power it has produced. Then you realize, that it is done. You take a quick look at yourself in the glass windows. This undescribale appearance.
      You became a god as Jeb has predicted. Now with judgement of a god, you create a new world. One with order and with one wish. Too see Jeb again. For even a god can't ressurect what has died.
      Millions of years go by without signs of Jebs souls finding another vessel.
      Until one day.. you realize that you and Jeb were wrong, the true god isnt you. you are a mere fraction of him. The only salvations was death all along, to reach heaven.
      "You know what must be done"

    Is there any difference between seed and eye potatoes?

    • @williamsokol0
      @williamsokol0 7 років тому

      I believe potatoes eye are closer to cloning than actual seeds, the eye can die and needs things to stay alive, also potatoes can bare fruit with seeds in them under the right conditions.

    • @JebGardener
      @JebGardener  7 років тому

      I have never heard the term eye potatoes but if they are used to grow a new plant they are probably the same.

    • @recoveringsoul755
      @recoveringsoul755 7 років тому

      I've never seen a potato seed. I thought they grew from potatoes?

    • @Elementaldomain
      @Elementaldomain 7 років тому

      Seed potatoes are regular potatoes that have sprouted. You can either use the whole potato or cut it up in parts with leaves on each part. The problem with seed potatoes, rather that potato seed is that more disease is spread. There are a few companies that actually sell seed - like a tomato seed. These kind of potatoes are healthier and more disease free.

    • @recoveringsoul755
      @recoveringsoul755 7 років тому

      +Elementaldomain So you can actually get seeds to grow potatoes from? that's wild.
