great review. i remember watching this a couple years ago. after watching it today, i appreciate how it's short, detailed, and straight to the point. compared to all these 20 minute reviews these days that are just autobiographies. turtle wax it is. it won fair and square. and i appreciate how many numerous times and different angles you used while rinsing the fender. good job and thank you
Should have sprayed those waxes on plastic trim ,rubber etc. to see if any of them left a haze. Turtle wax Ice wont. Some posters complained about the longevity of spray waxes and they are correct, that is why I spray wax mine every time I wash my truck which is every week or two depending on the weather. My paint job is 15 years old and still looks like new. Only takes about 15 minutes to apply the Turtle wax Ice and wipe it off. I used to use liquid and paste waxes and never found a single one that lasted anywhere near as long as they claimed and I tried many a brand from Meguires and Zymol to Nufinnish. I am also very happy with the UV protection I get with Turtle Wax Ice spray wax.
Good video, try spraying the waxed finished with rain water. You may see a difference in water beading up. Spraying from a garden hose is treated city water and has water purifiers in it.
I’ve used Meguiar’s for years and only recently the spray wax. It’s fantastic so I don’t know if the formula has changed. I’ll never buy a Mother’s product again because I’ve wasted money on it a few times before. Turtle is always a good choice but haven’t changed my mind from this. I use the liquid wax about 6-7 times per year and the spray wax maybe 3-4 or more, just whenever.
I find that the Turtle Wax ice liquid wax works pretty well shine is beautiful just blow dust off water runs off nothing then if you follow it up with the spray the shine is unbelievable
If you are in a pinch and need to grab something quick from over the counter turtle wax ice is a great option. I use this at times as a drying agent. For something cheap and readily available it yields good results at good value. Nice job Justin.
#1 -Thank You! for taking the time doing that for us.!! The Turtle wax works best but to be completely honest I'm buying whichever one I see with a cheaper price on it..
I use Mothers Spray wax, really good shine, it becomes like a mirror. And gets rid of dusts. Only lasts one and a half month though. If it rains a lot, only a month. But that's ok because I wash my car once every 2 weeks or once a month
Yes spray waxes are temporary, and there used for the people in a bind. I use it everytime I wash. Which is every week or every other week. Turtle wax Ice is my go to. Definitely leaves a layer of protection you can feel and see. They Mcguiars might not be bad second choice tho.
alexisthemexican Not just for people in a bind. I have a nice sealant on my car. By applying a spray wax after every wash, I’m adding new gloss and prolonging the sealant effectiveness. It definitely doesn’t last like a proper wax job, but as long as I take a few minutes each wash, it works well.
I use to be faithful to meguiars. Used it for 7 years on my last car and I gotta say I was disappointed with the protection towards the end. I got a new car and tried the turtle wax ice and I can honestly say my paint is smoother, shinier and beads water way better. I thought turtle was was trash but the ice has the Win for now
Which hides swirl marks and minor scratches the best? Next time, shine a light on the paint. Been using Meguiar's quick wax and detailer for years, hides minor swirl marks and leaves a nice shine. Did try Turtle Wax Ice one time and it also worked great but I just can't seem to find it anywhere.
I've been using Meguiar’s A3332 Quik Detailer Mist & Wipe for awhile now its under $10 and comes in a 32fl oz container, you'll never have to wash your car again!
The turtle wax ice quick spray wax acts way better when used after applying turtle wax ice paste wax. I use a the ice paste wax on my cars about once a year after a “after winter wax strip and clay bar”, then every other car wash I use the ice quickwax spray. Stays extremely hydrophobic.
I just tried the turtle wax ice spray tonight for the first time on my Ram and Harley. I'm super happy with the results. Basically all I have to go on so far is the shine- which I'm sure they all have.. But given this test I'm sure I will be satisfied with how the wax performs next time it rains!
i using meguiars products since 2013 and its still my Favorite! like the "water Bubble look" alot, and it gives a black car a nice deep Shine. its a personal taste...
Personally I like to use meguiars quick detailer(red bottle) the most. But I think spray wax is not really designed to "wax your car". It is more acted as a lubricant to remove dust/dirt, and to "touch up" your car that had just been wax.
Incorrect. The Ultimate spray wax and it's professional brother Meguiars synthetic xpress spray wax are definitely proper waxes. They won't last as long as a liquid or paste wax, but you'll get up to a month of protection. If you applied the spray wax after each wash then you'll have an awesome protection and shine on your car always.
Eagle One nano is awesome. Repels water and keeps a great shine. I clay bar every several months followed by the Eagle One nano wax and my car stays super shiny.
The biggest issue I have with these is the crappy longevity. I see these as "temporary" waxes or quick fixes when in a bind. They won't last. Put a layer of Collinite 845 on and it will last 3-6 months depending on how you take care of the paint. A bottle is $15 and will last your lifetime. How's that for cost effective?! Good cinematography though.
I have to agree with the Collinite 845 it is probably the best bang for the buck wax on the market. That being said there are better waxes but they are way more expensive. However in this video he is showing the best wax under $10. Given the price constraint you are limited to only a handful of waxes that are on the market. if he continues and uses the best waxes under $20 or under $30 the options will grow substantially.
Victor Gonzalez good point on the price I didn't factor that in. Although it seems pointless to buy $10 wax when it has awful longevity. Better off with a $15-$30 price point and get some good stuff!
The spray waxes are used also to extend the sealant on a paint, let's say after a car wash every 2-3 weeks to enhance the color. Using spray wax for protection in my point of view is not really ideal.
Brandon B these products are not meant to take the place of traditional wax. These are used between waxings as a booster. I use meguiars synthetic xpress spray wax and love it.
From personal experience I like Meguiars. It also depends on the brand of car. Some cars come from the factory with cheap paint jobs, and some of the reviewers are doing test on the cheapest "no head turning" cars you'll ever see. I've tried the Turtlewax liquid cleaner Carnauba wax on my Lexus, and the Meguiars Ultimate quik wax seems like it does a better job.
Too me it looks like the Turtle Spray Wax did the best. I keep the Turtle ICE Spray Wax on hand at home & use it on my own car. It always looks great & I can count on it's protection. Very nicely presented instructional video. Thank for doing the testing.
Meguiar's UQW is the best spray wax you can buy! I buy it's big brother (actually the exact same product in a gallon size that smells different) called meguiar's synthetic xpress spray wax, it's made for detailers. I use it after every wash as a wax extender but the finish and shine this stuff leaves is insane. Do yourself a favour and get some. Also fantastic on glass and leather seats.
I use Meguire's Ultimate Spray Wax for quick detailing. I use Zymol Liquid Xax once every 3 months. I have also used Maguire's clay bar twice on my 1998 red Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX. Prople are stunned how great my paint looks. I cover it every day at school and it is garaged at home. If it rains, I do NOT expect any way to dhef the watet. I will wash the car asap and spray wax it right away. Maintaining a car's paint should NOT be a chore. It should be a passion!
Lucas Oil Slickmist is by far my favorite, You get a really good amount for the price. Plus their interior detailer is awsome. All i use on my cars after trying them. Also they both smell amazing.
If you want a regular shine , get regular wax , i use Meguiar's goldclass canauba plus, for that deep dazzling shine , you know that cover your eyebrow when the sun hit your 750li .
Thanks for the comparison - So much for the cheap wax ... let's compare the trusted good old griot's garage spray wax with other brands.... not just water repelling ability, but how well it stands up to repeated soapy car washes.
I use the ICE wax as it is super easy and you don't even need to spray a lot to get a good coverage! I use my spray wax during the winter months because I'm not standing outside waxing my car in the freezing cold .. but I do wax my car ever 2 months with a paste to keep the base coat of wax intact my car is so clean people think it's a 2016 buts it's an '08 go ICE
Super Cool Video!! Before I found this video i used to use Tuttle Wxmax Shine Expresse after i wash my car and i am in Love with the product And that line wins in this Video I am Proud of what I am using
So this test was only to repel water? What about actual shine and fillers? Spray waxes aren't really meant for repelling water since they only last about 1-2 weeks.
I prefer to use AutoGlym hard wax and rapid aqua wax for after the car wash. I've tried 3M, Guard and Turtle, from these three I'd liked Guard the most but AutoGlym is my go to...for now.
thanks for this nice experiment and for sharing your conclusions. i appreciate u pointing out that turtle wax leaves less drops behind vs meguiars. meguiars has been my go-to also
Some people need to believe they have to get the BLING bottle in order to have the best. Turtle wax clearly sheeted the water away the fastest and left the surface the driest
Hello! If you have a car new car 2017-2019 especially a 2019. You don't have to wax your car. It has it's own properties in the paint to make the car shine and protect itself. You just have to clean your car and give it a nice chamois wipe down. And always keep you chamois clean after use. Never spray wax a car!
Hey justin ive been watching your videos and honestly ive been interested in buying a bmw , im lookin right now at a bmw 328xi coupe 2008 but idk what maintance im going to have to do and how often.?
Turtle wax in the green bottle is by far the cheapest and the best. I’ve used them and many more. Don’t waste money on the Ice the regular green bottle is just as good.
Thanks for the video, i will try turtle wax next time, as I have used meguiars and mother's before. I like those 2 for my 2015 Mazda 6 with soul red paint. Both meguiars and mother's leave a deep bright red shine.
used everyone of these .................black magic spray wax ,wipe on wipe off FAST whole lifted truck less than 10 min. ,the shine is better than ANYTHING I HAVE EVER USED OR SEEN . just washed truck after 2 mo. in az. dust and sun ,water still beads , and the shine is far better than showroom . low cost too
TJ Hunt just released his spray wax for $16.99 before shipping... I was gonna buy it then I saw this video and was like yea ill just go to my local store and pick up one of these lol Good video man, keep it up!
TJ Hunt has some busted looking cars tho. Not hating, but he doesn’t seem like he knows or cares much about his car’s paint. Add to that they cost nearly twice as much as these proven brands

Lucas is my go too. Sunnny no problem. Wet or dry. Oh and Amy grim. Easily take water house and your good. Trust me best speedwax plus it's only 7-8$ and come with almost double the wax as the leading brands. Plus I love their tire shine. It does rims and tires.

My vote is the turtle wax ice. However I'm a huge fan of the Mother Clay bar to get the paint clean.
Turtle wax Ice has been my go to wax since it came out. Nothing beats it.
Lol

Good info, well presented with no wasted time or banter. The detailing “experts” should take note.
The Turtle Wax Seal n Shine is the new product and is awesome! Even better than the regular TW Ice spray wax.
I've always been a fan of "Mothers" products. "Back to Black" "clay bar" and original carnuba car wax have never left me feeling cheated or miss lead.
I find that the Turtle Wax ice liquid wax works pretty well shine is beautiful just blow dust off water runs off nothing then if you follow it up with the spray the shine is unbelievable
ICE is incredible...tried it on Jeep GC and was blown away at the ease and shine...crazy bright finish
Turtle Wax seemed to be the best out of this group!!
I realize it is kind of randomly asking but does anyone know of a good website to watch new series online?
@Reyansh Cameron Lately I have been using FlixZone. You can find it by googling :)
Did any of them look as good as liquid or paste where you wipe off the white haze?
Interesting how Meguiar's wax repelled water quickest, but left the most moisture behind later.
Thanks for the review.

Turtle Wax ice is a slam-dunk.... I use it over the top of turtle paste wax!
TW ICE paste is theeeee most underated paste wax...
EBay... Amazon
I just bought the Turtle Wax Ice at Walmart yesterday!

Love and Use the Turtle Wax Spray Wax that's used in this video, No issues and so easy to apply
"To make this a fair comparison I'm gonna use my fiancee's car " LOL
(plot twist = he owes her money that's why)
so what's the best result ??
The biggest issue I have with these is the crappy longevity. I see these as "temporary" waxes or quick fixes when in a bind. They won't last. Buckshot Beer z
Lol that focus on the 3 bottles in beginning of vid was slick
for how many weeks the water wax could protect the paint?
From personal experience I like Meguiars. It also depends on the brand of car. You have to have a film background...EASILY the best produced video on UA-cam by some dude doing a review! VERY appreciated...impressive
Thanks I appreciate it! And yes I have a background in design and video production
How often do you apply this to protect the paint ?
I've used them all for detailing motorcycles. I used to be a fan of turtle wax ice but now I use Lucas slick mist.
Too me it looks like the Turtle Spray Wax did the best. I keep the Turtle ICE Spray Wax on hand at home & use it on my own car. It always looks great & I can count on it's protection. Very nicely presented instructional video. Thank for doing the testing.
I was impressed with the Turtle Wax and I'm sure and economically it's a good move for just a standard daily driver
Meguiar's UQW is the best spray wax you can buy! I've used them all and find mothers has that shine to it on my pearl white 2014 Maxima

I have a white 2012 Equinox that has never been waxed that I know of. Should I use a spray or paste wax?
Dale Johnson paste wax lasts the longest sprays r just a quick detailer that work great but dont last
How do I apply wax to a 2015 Hyundai Tucson with an exterior color of White?
Lucas Oil Slickmist is by far my favorite, You get a really good amount for the price. Plus their interior detailer is awsome. All i use on my cars after trying them. Also they both smell amazing.
If you want a regular shine , get regular wax , i use Meguiar's goldclass canauba plus, for that deep dazzling shine , you know that cover your eyebrow when the sun hit your 750li .
Great comparison! can you do one on micro scratches or fine scratches and which wax removes fine scratches?
i use wax and dry from turtle wax. its really good
which one give the best shine?
I like the eagle one synthetic polymer protection spray way in the black bottle
Thanks for the comparison - So much for the cheap wax ... let's compare the trusted good old griot's garage spray wax with other brands.... not just water repelling ability, but how well it stands up to repeated soapy car washes.
Turtle wax is my go to. Turtle power!
This review is extremely thorough and well put together. I wish other "detailers" take notes.
I use the ICE wax as it is super easy and you don't even need to spray a lot to get a good coverage! I put Nutella on my baby 😃best wax
now u need a hot chick to lick it off haha!
Calling DCF
Try Chunky Peanut butter
thanks for this nice experiment and for sharing your conclusions. i appreciate u pointing out that turtle wax leaves less drops behind vs meguiars. meguiars has been my go-to also

I have a BMW 325i. Pretty similar, and maintenance has been pretty easy on it. I say go for it.
2:25 Mothers for the win tho! I like that sheeting action!
Sure it was fun to watch but left more water behind after the "sheeting"
Turtle wax in the green bottle is by far the cheapest and the best. I’ve used them and many more. Don’t waste money on the Ice the regular green bottle is just as good.
Same here I just get the regular lol
Thanks for the video, i will try turtle wax next time, as I have used meguiars and mother's before.
I like those 2 for my 2015 Mazda 6 with soul red paint. Both meguiars and mother's leave a deep bright red shine.

TJ Hunt just released his spray wax for $16.99 before shipping... I was gonna buy it then I saw this video and was like yea ill just go to my local store and pick up one of these lol Good video man, keep it up!
That guy makes wax now? Lol I'm good with the affordable stuff myself :)
Yep, called Signature Spray Wax lol Im with you on that one :)
Justin Buice As am I! 😂😂
Witch one would leave no water spots ?
TJ Hunt has some busted looking cars tho. Not hating, but he doesn’t seem like he knows or cares much about his car’s paint. Add to that they cost nearly twice as much as these proven brands
I thought Mothers worked best. The Turtle wax panel is almost straight at the tape area which sheds the water faster.
Where's the link to the poll for the best wax like you said in the video?!
Great video. Consumer Reports rated ICE Turtle Wax highly, but it was nice to see how it compared to Mother's and Mequiars. I'm sold on ICE Turtle Wax. I would like to see a comparo video of liquid detailing products.
Which is best.
Is this basically like a affordable ceramic coating?
Seems like it
(Lol just bought the turtle wax spray. I got it cause most comments said that’s the best one)
Streetboyz Yea but not even close as good.
Best ceramic spray wax is mother's cmx it's $22 on Amazon.
Thanks a for the video but I’m afraid you may have simply rinsed off your spray wax hence why there’s not much difference between the untreated area.
another great video man! I coincidentally picked up a bottle of meguiars a couple days ago and feel good about my choice :)
I talked to a buddy of mine that has a automotive in detail business he says these All of these spray on waxes are a very good product it's just your preference the 2nd thing is he said they're not designed to last a very long time 1 maybe 2 washes the best way to keep your vehicle shine is do have it detail'd clay barred then a Polish and then good Car nuba ceramic highbred wax put on and either buffed or wiped off these spray ons are good for maintaining that but not keeping your vehicle shine you'll spend a Book lot less money if you go and habit detail 1st and then just use the spray on to maintain that shine
nice thank you✌️ ps turtle for me though I like the way mother's reppelles water
I bought all three products and a new empty bottle to mix all together. Best result ever in CA where it rarely rains.
I use Maguiars Paste Wax twice a year and a Quick Detailer after all washings.
Mother's spray wax is the best. Mequiars for some reason just leaves more streaks. Another good one is probably Lucas Oil
Nice car, I just love the Avenger. My best regards to you from Mexico City
Nice video. I am more interested in how these stuffs hold up. Another test after a week would be nice.
I've been using ice turtle wax and detailing for years and it has been the best I've ever seen and used right now I'm trying out a new one see how it performs West Coast custom detailingand you can find that at Walmart for under 10 bucks so far it's been working pretty good works and everything but I'll never stop using total ice
Nicely done video mate!
Turtle wax has always done me well for many many years n doesn’t break the bank 👍🏻
Nice honest get to the point video 😎i have never used any spray wax but a friend of mine recommended Lucas so I’m going to try it 😎💯🏆🇺🇸
Man that turtle wax does the job 🏆😍
ICE TURTLE WAX WAS THE BEST IN MY OPINION! IT'S ALSO AFFORDABLE FOR SOMEBODY WHO WANTS TO SHINE THERE RIDE UP AND IS ON A TIGHT BUDGET!
Thanks for the post, very interesting and very informative. I think the Turtle Ice was the best.
I go for Meguires usually but Mother’s in this case looks good.
great video concise and to the point. Giving Turtle Wax Ice a shot soon.
I have taken a "shine" to DSX wax that works well for aircraft too...
What? 🤨
The bigger question is what protects better against UV rays to prevent fading
Motul wash and wax! The best! It is for motorcycles but i use it on my car and got amazing results! Under 7 dollars!
could you do a demo for turtle wax's wax & dry spray wax?
I buy the Meguiars by the gallon. Much less costly that way.
The synthetic xpress spray wax? that's exactly the same product as the UQW with a different smell. I also buy the gallon jug! fantastic stuff!
drbcrb yep. by the gallon it's an excellent value. I even use it on the interior on my leather seats and trim.
Always do tests on areas like the roof hood or trunk where water is most likely to stay after rain.
l like the Mequires, but Eagle One wax as you dry is also good for about 6 bucs
The Turtle wins!
